-Another important tip is to use your melee attack when enemies get to close. It might not seem very useful at first glance, but it really actually is. Though even without it you will damage anything you step on, meaning you can clear entire hordes of smaller enemies with just the WASD buttons (but there's no reason not to just speed it up with the melee). -If you're a mech main you might be interested in one of the few use cases of the shield generator backpack: Extra shielding for a mech. Unlike the other backpacks shield-gens don't stop working in a mech and since they're so large, they'll actually shield the front of your mech. -If you're a fan of the franchise you might already know, but there were three mechs in HD1: The Walker (=Patriot), the Obsidian (=Emancipator) and the Lumberer which featured a tank cannon on one arm and a huge flamethrower on the other. When questioned about the Lumberers potential addition to HD2, developers answered that it was absolutely confirmed to be coming, but not necessarily anytime soon.
The thing I MOST want them to add to the Exosuits is a Hellbomb self-destruct countdown (bonus points if the countdown is in the form of the final part of the Super Earth anthem) because it's practically tradition for Helldivers to scuttle empty Walkers (feels like a massive waste to just leave them behind). Also Exosuits are more useful on Bug planets as you can literally step on and kill the tiny enemies just by walking through them.
@@theofficialbruhfish8094 im pretty sure thats a lie, they said that when they were asked why we couldnt bring 2 mechs but whenever they give free mechs we can infact bring 2 mechs per player and the games runs just fine
My tips as mech pilot: 1. always bring rocket launcher to save your ammo on big boy, aspecialy cannon turrets of automatons and tanks 2. Scout armor passive is the only one armor passive u can benefit while inside mech(the scanning part of it) 3. Ems and gas has no effect on u while in mech 4. Mostly profitable to use long playing stratagems to support u while in mech, such as turrets or barrages 5. On bug front dont waste ammo on scavergers, u can just go through them, and listen them squishing
Tips: If you can use toggle aim, press aim and then trick the game into thinking you are aimed then you can shoulder swap and precisely use the left sides rocket launcher. Bring the quasar cannon and laser weapons. when big enemies spawn hop out and shoot then jump in while the recharge cools down. Bring eagle strikes like cluster or straif to offset your mechs ammo. Hop out, throw, jump in, mop up what lived.
Mechanic backpack that lets you repair mechs, emplacements, etc would be sick. Also a really nice upgrade to mechs would be being able to call down a different kind of mech, like a patriot the first time and an emancipator the second time
The personal shield generator backpack works while piloting. essentially giving your mech haul another layer of protection (it doesn’t cover the arms). Sense your backpack slot is taken up I’d go for the quasar so you can snipe turrets before pushing with the ExoSuit
Tip on bug side you can walk over any small bugs so don't waste ammo on the small orange bugs the amount of people I see shooting these small bugs like hunters hurts my soul also I would recommend taking a personal bubble shield with the mech because there is a level 2 weak point on the front flat part of the mechs face(please arrowhead raise armor level of this tin can)
I'd like to see modular mechs. Make the new mech unlocks just unlock new arms. So the basic patriot is unchanged and serves as the baseline mech, giving the mech option and automatically unlocking the light rocket pod and gattling gun arms. The emancipator becomes something to the effect of "mech emancipator autocannon". Add an arc one and a grenade launcher one and eventually hit up about the whole support weapon roster worth of arm options. When choosing it at loadout, select what each arm will be for that mission. Then make all the legwork of building that out pointless by always choosing double emancipator arms because the autocannon is king!
Give us a heavy duty plasma arm, with heavy pen and a large radius, and it might have some competition! And my dumb ass is gonna dual wield gatling guns anyway.
Basically all the support weapons we got could legit just be attachments to the mech, id love a RR+autocannon combo now i do believe just due to sheer ammo auto cannons for mech is the best also due to the fact that the autocannon mech is anti everything.
as per usual... the greatest threat to a mech is friendly fire... the amount of times ive been sniped by a recoilles >:( i swear to god people play with the HUD turned off or something
Sometimes if I get the chance, I would park the mech and dump all my eagles and orbital attacks on a nest or outpost and then get back on the mech. I'm already operating a strategem weapon that's ready to use and haven't used my loadout so I should put all the strategems to use and then get back on so the cooldown will tick while I'm in there.
you can take a shield backpack and it will shield your mech while you are inside. but it doesnt shield the arms it only shields the body. you can use this to extend your mechs survivability, especially against bots. but it can be useful on spewer heavy maps too.
My biggest issue with the Mechs is that theres so much cool there and we're so limited in their usage. I am a MechWarrior guy, i wanna pilot me mech as much as humanly possible lol
@TheGundamBoi agreed, I love the customization idea to swap Arms and stuff. That plus more call-ins and/or resupplies, alongside the Strategem Launcher are all I really want.
The personal shield generator backpack stays active when you enter your mech, so it’s basically like getting a small extra bit of health that regenerates, but I 100% agree if they’re gonna keep the mechs to only 2 per mission they should allow the resupply backpack to be able to refill ammo supply’s or give us some kind of secondary that repairs broken parts of the mech
Hey man, respectfully, why are people watching your videos, if they are casual why are they not just using their own takes? Edit: yeah I had terrible grammer, I wrote that when I just woke up.

I don't know why they limit it to two mechs per mission, they're not op. The cooldown should be 7-8 minutes with infinite uses
I’d love for them to do a thing where you could repair the mech or at least resupply it when it runs out of ammo.
They say it’s an engine issue, the mechs are really costly for the engine
A good solution might be a ship module upgrade...
@@theofficialbruhfish8094 that is incredibly disappointing.

We need beam sabres

This makes me want to play TF|2 again, hopefully we get a mech focused ship upgrade path sometime soon
Finaly someone made a video about mechs. a perfect guide for such a dummy like me.
Thank you, Mate ❤
Glad you liked it!

yess bring back the repair backpack and let us reload mechs
Wearing fire resistant armor can keep you from dying to fire when your mech crashes.

I wish the warbond variants had differences like a Flamethrower with the fire warbond or giant chemical sprayer for the chemical trooper bonds.

Fun and games till we get the casual guide to reinforcing
Keep on divin, champ. Doin good.
I'd need to check the wiki, but I think Helldivers 1 had a repair tool of some kind. It'd be nice to see more of the old stuff brought in.
Vet here, yes it did and yes they should
if your not the host and your game shuts down and you re-join the samme grupe you get all the mech slots back (aka the 2 uses you are given)

Glad you do!

It'd be cool if we could have mechs with flamethrowers so we can burn the Liberty from their molten or charred bodies
The segment with the stacking mechs is so goofy! Anyone else notice weird things with the exosuits?

They need to do some step-up excersizes in the gym.
