  • How to load the Mamiya RB67 Pro S camera.
    A few fun facts...
-RB stands for rotating back and can spin to take portrait or landscape.
-The 6x7 format is 4.5x larger than your standard 35mm frame.
-The camera can operate between -5°F and 120°F.

I tear the box end off and slip it into that handy slot on the back of the cassette cuz I'm old and cant always recall what type of film I have loaded ;)

One question: The red dot next to the winding lever, the one you moved before you began winding the beginning of the film, is that red not supposed to be visible during the shooting of the exposures? It appeared to me so, but I could not be sure. Thanks for the video on the back loading!

Hi Thanks for your Video. Do you show what to do when it's time to take the film out. Needless to say I do not know what to expect as I have never taken a film out yet. I have not had the RB67 very long. Thanks Ken

Don't put your camera on the carpet unless you want lint on the film. Always load your film in a dust free environment if possible.

I can't advance the film to 1 on either back that I have. The lever moves fine, I can feel the film moving, but the number doesn't advance past S. The multiple exposure lever is definitely not on (the red dot is covered). This happens on camera and off. Any ideas? Are both backs not functioning?

I have the Pro S with the 6x8 back. Same procedure I suppose.

Loaded film, no prob. Thanks! Now, I can't get the back *back* on the camera. The lock slides in the right place, but the chrome slides for the lock are blocking replacement. Any ideas anyone? A friend bought the same camera and is having the same issue. Thanks in advance.

@@marcusgoins1393 Yes, thanks! In fact, I sold the camera last year. It was a great one, though.

When I shoot with it does the dark slide stay in or come out?

The dark slide must come out to expose the film, you cannot shoot a frame with the dark slide in. The dark slide needs to be inserted whenever the back is off the camera, otherwise you'll expose the film to light.
