In this episode of Surah An-Najm, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan points out the dangers of not distinguishing between big and small sins, especially when combined with perfectionism. This can lead to tunnel vision and neglect of important issues. Masking major bad deeds with small good deeds is dangerous and can lead to misunderstandings about Islam's essence. Treating all sins as equal makes it hard to recognize the severity of actions and avoid accountability.

I love brother Nouman so much....I can't express in words his impact on my life and my outlook on life and Islam especially being a convert. All I can do is pray Allah SWT blesses this man with immense knowledge, wisdom, and a long life that we may benefit from his beautiful mind. And I pray Allah SWT grants him His Mercy and Forgiveness, and enters him in Janat al-Firdaus.

15:30 this is so true. i remember listening to lectures about isra' and mikraj when i was 8 y/o and i was traumatized. i alr felt like a lost cause and i'm going to hell. it made me feel scared and unfortunately, it made me stray as to not remember the supposedly punishments awaiting for me. the lectures i hear growing is so much based on fear when our relationship with Allah shouldn't be based on fear alone. Alhamdulillah Allah moved my heart and I'm able to realize that is not the case now in 22 years of age. our human brain won't even be able to fathom the vastness of Allah's mercy, generosity and forgiveness. may Allah make us one that often repents and may Allah take our soul away only when He is pleased with it amin ya rabbal 'alamin 🤲

As Salamou Aleykoum Ustadh, I am one of your students too & I love you so much that I have to share with you my experience with music. I profoundly believe that music is 100% haram because I get a sign from Allah. I used to be addictive to music & the first time I heard that music was haram wAllahi I was shocked & confused. So for a few days I was profoundly disturbed, and I was just wondering if it is true or not until I saw a dream. I saw myself in the place where I used to listen to music every day & suddenly a voice in my dream make an announcement that the Angel of death is coming to take my soul while I was listening to music. I saw myself throwing my earphones & I was absolutely terrified. Then I saw myself running to the place where the radio of my mom was, then I turned it on & Surah Al Mulk start to be recited. When I woke up, I was definitely convinced that music is haram with no doubt about it Subhana Allah. May Allah preserve you Ustdah & guides us all Amin

This is one of the meaning of al-adiyat surah:
Allah says in the Quran I swear by the horses rushing and breathing shoving, and then Allah says Verily, a person in relation to his Lord is certainly not grateful. What is the connection between the ingratitude of a person and the horses which Allah swore.
Allah says, even an animal without a mind is so devoted to his master that the very heat of the battle is ready to break out, the environment of the crowd where there is fervor and nothing is visible, where death awaits him at every step, where the blood boils from fatigue, burning the chest, and this is all only because the owner fed it. and you are a man, Allah created you, endowed you with inheritances, but you still resist him, although he asks you only to worship him alone.

    Sunan an-Nasa'i 3763
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah saw said:
"When Allah created Paradise and Hell, He sent Jibril, peace be upon him, to Paradise and said: 'Look at it and at what I have prepared for its people in it.' He looked at it, then he came back and said: 'By Your Glory, no one will hear of it but he will enter it.' So He commanded that it be surrounded by hardships and said: 'Go and look at it and at what I have prepared for its people in it.' He looked at it and saw that it had been surrounded with hardships. He (Jibril) said: 'By Your Glory, I fear that no one will enter it.' He (Allah) said: 'Go and look at the Fire and at what I have prepared for its people in it.' So he looked at it and parts of it were piled upon other parts. He came back and said: 'By Your Glory, no one will enter it.' So He commanded that it be surrounded with pleasures and said: 'Go and look at it.' So he looked at it and saw that it was surrounded with pleasures. He came back and said: 'By Your Glory, I fear that no one will be saved from it and all will enter it.'"

Laa ilaaha ill-allaahu, waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer
“None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and all praise and He is over all things omnipotent.”
Oh Allah, our Creator, Al Jabr, Al Qudus, Al Qawyi... to You belong the best and most beautiful names. You alone we worship and trust, and to You alone we call out to and return ya Al'Hai Al'Qayum... Blessings and salutations on our noble Mursaleen, their families and their companions - may our entire Ummah be true followers of Your Religion and of Your chosen leaders and enjoy the intercession of Rasul'ul Allah s.a.w.
La hawla walla quwata ila bilah - Pour in our hearts the neverending concern and objective of pleasing You, Al'Wadud and envelope us in Your Love in the ways that befit Your Majesty. Make taqwa be the center of our existence at all times, and provide us with all that we need to pass our tests delightfuly and to see and appreciate the wisdom behind them. Ya Rabbi, we are in desperate need of Your Blessings, Your Love, Your Forgiveness and Your Protection... please do not leave us even for the blink of an eye and decree what is best for us beautifully in all of our affairs from beginning to end, granting us success both in dunya and in akhira.
The Beloved Guest is here... alhamdulillah, the one we all look forward to arrive, the season where we all feel compelled to thrive... the company that we yearn all year round, the one we dedicate to make our heart sound... the one that comes and goes in Your name, the one we so dearly wish forever to remain, the one in which we have everything to gain, the one we must never take in vain. Your Words revealed - all hearts healed. Allahuma, embrace us, forgive us, bless us and prescribe for us and our loved ones Jannah tul Firdeous during this 30 night journey, equipt us in every way to succeed in it every single day - for this, and all past and future Ramadans we pray.
Please shelter us from all that displeases You and make The Straight Path our home and our way of life while we are here. Increase us in knowledge and steer us clear from that which does not benefit us. Ya Al'Mu'izz, inject in us the ability to recognize the truth and to distinguish it from falsehood... allow us to see what is true and grant us the ability to accept it as the truth and endear it to us by making what is false appear to us as false indeed- keep it away from us and us from it, to You alone we supplicate and in all aspects of this do not let us procrastinate.
Oh Allah Jella Jalaluhu, You know everyone's needs best and You are the Best of Planners, so fulfill them lovingly and make us content and grateful with what You decree. Ya Allah, help us love what You love and hate what You hate... Endear us to what is best for us - illustrate the perfection of Your Plan in ways we can appreciate and understand - eliminate what we should avoid and don't find peace in and enhance what we should embrace and actively engage in.
Oh Owner and Turner of All Hearts, keep ours connected to You, cover us in Your comfort and light and provide us with ease whilst You know the true pain behind our wounds... and in this strengthen us to bare patience, remind us of the beauty in pleading to You for guidance, love, forgiveness and victory for You are the All Encompassing, Our Creator, the Most High.
Oh Allah, allow us to feel Your Presence throughout our every step... please provide us with deep understanding, free us from ignorance and debt and cleanse our sustenance by supplying us with the highest of halal opportunities in all their forms. Do not deprive us from fulfilling all 5 Pillars during our life time nor from visiting Your Holy Lands, and gift us with the priviledge of enjoying the end of our days in the one You choose for us.
Oh Allah Azzawajjal free Your creation from all forms of suffering, lead us into tawba and the wisdom of asking for forgiveness and the nobility of forgiving. Oh Al Aziz, return Your Masjids to Your rightful servants, and protect our ulamah by keeping their teachings alive and having their students apply what Your Quran and our Nabi's Sunnah have established, for us and all future generations.
Oh Al Mutakabbir, elevate our status and purify our past, our present and our future... make us and our descendants from amongst those that perfected Your Religion, and grant us victory on that Day. We beg You Allah Ghafur AlRaheem for forgiveness for our sins... wipe our accounts clean and fill them with abundant mandalas of good deeds to receive our book on our right hand and allow us to be from among Your pious allies... a Sabiqun, a Sabiqun. Attach our hearts, minds and souls to Your Message and grant us the incomparable gift of memorizing Your Words, the Quran... do not let us forget the sacrifices that were made in order for humanity and the universe to have access to IT... nor to forget those whom You selected to accomplish Your Mission. Cultivate in us the honor of learning your surahs inside out, but please do bestow upon us the miracle of also living each ayah.
Oh Allah we seek refuge in Your perfect words from every fitnah, from the simplest to the most dangerous... including from the trials of the Dajjal and the end of times... and every form of evil You have created... every devil, every jinn, every vermin, every illness, from misguidance and ingratitude, and protect our Ummah from Shaytaan and his agenda against humanity at large. Allahuakbar!
La ilaha illa enta' Subhana! Please purify, strengthen and unite the Muslim Family and the Muslim Ummah in ways that exceed our expectations and envelope our hearts and souls to You alone. Endear us to one another to the point where we want to contribute towards each other's peace with the best of manners - make those closest to us the coolness of our eyes and remind us to remain patient and consistantly practice gratitude.
Ya Al'Latif, put Barakah in everything we receive from You and in everything we do.
Grant us the strength and the wisdom you deem fit to endure what we may find difficult and beautify the trials You have set for us Rabbi in order to tackle each of them with love and sincerity. Save us from the punishment of the grave and make Jahanam haram for us at all times. Grant us a purified blessed death upon being submitted to You, after uttering the most sincere 'la ilaha il Allah' , and aid us in answering the 3 questions that define our destiny. Ya Rabbi, turner of that which ignites the human core by Your Majesty, cleanse our hearts until they are in a true state of purity and submission before taking us back to You in totality. Unite us with those whom You love most upon the resurection and enter us into every level of Jannah until we are able to finally enjoy YOU in Al Firdeous... let us be honored by your Glorious company forever and ever... We know and recognize that Your Message and Your Promise is true.
    Amin, amin ya Rabbi Alameen

So true about some khutbas solely dedicated to judgement day and hell fire alone. I remember I was in 7th grade and someone decided to play this documentary of "Azab e Qabr" not a documentary but more like a idk movie? An episode? (It was in urdu) and oh my god was I so terrified. Like at the end the message was pray or else this horrible stuff that's happening to this person who never prayed once in his life while his wife was a devout muslim, a hijabi, praying all the prayers etc was going through this torture and the wife was spared. That could be your fate too . Didnt help me much to pray. Gave me nightmares tho.

“Toxic” is not the right terminology. Narcissism is a real personality disorder that affects people’s lives, the victims specifically, such as children with narcissistic parents that get emotionally, mentally and physically abused or even murdered by their narcissistic parents. It’s a serious and REAL thing that society needs to address.

The heart is our connection to Allah, wudu, and prayers.
Sincere wudu takes 2 minutes, prayer takes 3 minutes, it's obligation not choice.
If you write novels about why you cannot do these religious acts and make them sound like lofty aspirations and mountains you have to climb.
Look into your heart and ask yourself what is making a 5 minute task seem impossible and burdensome to you.
Perhaps you allow your heart to be engaged in a more complex action (sin) that make everything else appear difficult.

I know there is gonna be at least one person who'd be mad that ustadh said you dont have to do lots of zikr, pray all the times and other stuff is he in his right mind? While yes those are the highest form of good deeds that we can all strive for but the point is a lot of feel left out because we simply cant achieve that level and we are scared that we might be punished. Now allah is the one to decide who to punish and who to spare but actually it's one of Allah's mercy that he didnt make things hard for us. He wants to try our best and not obsess over sins or even good deeds for the matter. We are neither angels nor the devil. We will make mistakes and that's human nature. Get up, dont dwell on it and try to do more good. That's the bottom line.

@@Sunflowersarepretty Considering salah is mentioned approximately 700 times in the Qur'an, its certainly worthy of being repeated.
You mentioned its hard to get to that level of praying all the time and almost made it seem like it's ok to miss salah but I'm sorry to say this is the one deed that you simply can't underestimate. There isn't even a need to mention punishment behind not praying salah, rather the benefits for praying 5 times a day is endless. If your salah is sound, everything else in life will be sound.
Of course we shouldn't dwell on our sins as the door of repentance is open for as long as we live, but we shouldn't lessen the importance of good deeds nor should we lighten the impact of missing out on them.

    • @a_leaf
      @a_leaf Рік тому +1

Sub7anAllah you said some very important things that describe your state and the audience of Ustad NAK to people like us that may not have initially understood (and criticize him).
      You mentioned something key here:
"A lot of us feel left out because we simply can't achieve that level and we are scared that we might be punished".
MsA that you have clarity of imaan and you are scared. This is a great sign because you are not arrogant in your flaws.
Praying 5 times a day is easy my brother/sister. You have to sincerely Repent for all your sins to Allah.
Sinning is anchor that weighs someone's heart down heavy and then makes something simple and rewarding like wudu and praying seem like a mountain.
Repent one time for all your sins, cleanse your heart, and inch closer to Allah you will find that He will make prayer and other acts of worship very easy for you.
Let go of your sins and the life built around sinning, when you do that will give you a surge of energy go start doing ibadah and you will see it as an investment in yourself by thanking Allah 5 times a day because He deserves it and you want the unlimited rewards that come with it as well as forgiveness.

    • @Sunflowersarepretty
      @Sunflowersarepretty Рік тому +1

@@SimulatorWhiz yes salah is mandatory and the first question we would be asked about on judgment day and even in our graves is Salah. Never said salah is secondary. You just elaborated more on it. However not a single one of us has a perfect Salah record. Sometimes due to any number of reasons we either miss it (not endorsing missing Salah. Talking a reality which most people would when bring up either bring Jahannam in the talk or something about Allah's azab which is right but again correct people by not condemning them to hell) I have missed so many salahs in my life and I'm afraid before Allah that he might punish me for those. So what should I do? Give up? Not try to make any effort and just dwell on the fact I'm doomed. There are times when right after watching a khutbah and it's about patience or being nice to others I just slip up. I lose my temper. so now am I like going to hell?? because after listening to this khutbah I was so motivated to never do it and here I did what i was not supposed to.... I was speaking in a more realistic sense. People who dont want to pray will come up with justifications. And I'm not speaking for them.

In terms of assumptions regarding the expectations towards Allah’s rahma remember that there is a thin line between forgiveness and punishment. Where too much expectation of punishment from Allah keeps one in check, too much expectation of forgiveness could put one in a comfort zone and he could end up developing an attitude of self righteousness. So one has to find a balance where one doesn't get disappointed from Allah’s rahma nor feel horrified all time and left with no hope.
And Allah is all wise and knows better.

This is very beautiful depiction of the Christian version of the story of Adam n Eve.The Muslim's story ,as told in the Qur'an is different.Allah made this earth solely for us and we were sent here not as a punishment but only as a test.Satan didn't decieve Eve only but both Adam n Eve (peace be upon them). They repented for their mistake and Allah forgave them. They were sent here because it was the original plan,to test their commitment to Allah. We,the descendants, are following our parents Adam and Eve until all of us meet on the Day of Judgment.May Allah keep us guided to His Straight Path until we reach our home, the Paradise n meet our Lord,Allah.

so true. i grew up fearing the religion so much. i didnt even like listening to Quran recitation because I always saw scary videos about Allah's punishment and hell and they used Quran recitation in the background. it made me stray from the religion because I felt so worthless and hopeless.

I agree with everything that you and say and no doubt you understand this Surah in great detail however i dont appreciate you mentioning things like “narcissism” and using it in a sentence, yes its well known in society today but to those have been affected by people who live with narcissist personality disorder things cannot be said as a joke or lightly. Please read upon this in detail

Sin is sin’ if you are taking someone elses Existence into your hands and sinning in anyway’ your altering the course of THEIR life’ by how you treat them differently then how Allah Would treat them. Josephs life was ruined by 2 lies…. His fathers ruined by 1 lie..
Adam and eve ate one bird.. Said a talking snake told them.. LYIN (Lion) prey on others… and Leave them to deal with your “minor” sin.. its only “minor” until its your life ruined by the lyin mouth..
