It would be really nice if Bayyinah released a a dictionary of the most common words used in the Quran with their original meanings in English. With all primary and secondary meanings
Surah al-Najm is the most beautiful piece of language I have ever come across. I was first introduced to it when relative of mine threw the satanic verses at me a few months after I became Muslim. I researched it and learned a lot about the sciences of hadith, and I started reading the Surah itself. The sheer power of its words blew me away, especially from aya 19 onwards. There are no words to describe how I felt when learning this Surah, and I ended up memorizing it by heart because of how much I loved it. Alhamdulillah
The time you spend listening to music and letting it loose can be used to do zikr and Salawat. This is what I've been battling with myself. Each time I start listening to music for a while, my mind will start thinking about why am i wasting my time listening to this song when I can recite tasbih, tahmid, takbir, tahlil and Allah will give trees in Jannah. If I do Salawat, Allah, and the angel will reply to my Salawat. So I stopped listening to music and that time and do zikr and Salawat for some time, although I do listens to music from time to time while working. This is just my perspective coming from someone who used to listen to music all the time
Actually its come from our environment where we live it totally affect on us, but when Allah choose us then we don't like music and any wasting thing .. May Allah grant us hidayat..
That's so true but you can heal from it. I heard EMDR therapy is good at treating OCD. May Allah heal you and grant you the right understand of things 🤲
Can you really be addicted to music though. I mean, theoretically, listening to a song a lot would just mean you like it, not necessarily addicted to it. Addiction is defined as not being able to control doing something that you enjoy, to the point where it could become harmful to you. E.g. not being able to stop eating (food addiction), which is a real example of an addiction with negative consequences
you are right, but all those kabair are explicitly mentioned in the Quran to be haram. If music was totally haram, as well as existed back then, I do not see why Allah would not explicitly mention in the Quran. I do agree though that it is not good practice since it can lead you to sins but as Ustadh says we should be transparent and sincere with the word of Allah and not use our opinions above the word of Allah itself.
Literally,Ustadh is the Incredible Teacher I've ever seen in my entire life. You just make us fall in love with the Quran everytime.May Allah bless you!

In My Little Humble Opinion...Stay Away The Grey areas of Religion...Some Music Can Absolutely Kill You Knowingly and Some Music are on the safe side...Music is an experience and we all understand these points...May ALLAH Almighty Safeguard us from all evil!!
It is much easier to DO lots of small good things than NOT do bad things. To stop doing a sin is more difficult than doing a good deed. In the same way, people like to eat unhealthy things and then go for a run or do exercise to minimize the effects of bad eating habits, rather than just NOT eating unhealthy stuff.
I know people that say "I cant live without music" so it is addictive...music hits you in the ego sometimes, romance sometimes, make you want to straight wild out sometimes...there is a science that can be used with music that can put you under the influence of the music. So with that being said when your looking for a clear cut haram or halal verdict just because you cant find it, doesnt make music safe. When people were at odds with whether or not weed was a drug (some said its a natural plant some people said its mind altering so its a drug) so when the Gov. made it legal so its not illegal anymore..doesnt take away from the fact its addictive, mind altering and is harmful...still a drug.

Wow, very impressed with the section on music. I believe Ustadh used to say it was haram but he’s willing to show integrity and intellectual honesty now.
Wow..this is such a big problem in our Ummah. Our beloved brother really exposes the true hyopcrisy, sicknesses people have in their hearts...these people have such a poor understanding of the deen. Unfortunately i experienced first hand exactly this strange, obnoxious mentality, and behaviour. The way Nouman describes them is so accurate. Its like they are clones of each other.
I love how ustadh acknowledges his flaws and knows that no matter what someone's gonna take a clip out and change the whole narrative. About the music issue I think about why is it haram and the only explanation I can give is, it depends on what kind of music are you listening to like for instance I love some of Disney's songs like "Reflection", "let it go" and many others where yknow it's most of the times inspirational granted can be annoying but theres nothing inappropriate. Contrast it to modern music like yknow songs that are full of innuendos, just straight up inappropriate stuff then yeah that is haraam. That's how I think. Also i dont listen to as much music like i used to and one more thing if you're an addict then it's hard to pray because songs keeps playing in your head.
this is actually briliant and mindblowing at the same time. throughout the video, i thought that it totally nail the marks of what actually happen to me.. im so scared now, is there any ways to overcome this?
