- What's the best part of the breakdown? The ridiculous vocal callout right before it hits! That's why I had to ask Surefire vocalist Joseph Coleman to help with this video that pits a selection of metalcore and deathcore breakdowns against each other. I included a mix of all time classics as well as some newer songs. How would you describe the difference between the two, and which do you prefer? Do you have a favorite that's not in the video? Let me know in the comments!

this was a ton of fun, thank you for having me
Ooohhh i love it when vocal covers have a different style than the original song 🎉
The BMTH and Parkway Drive one hit different 🤟🤤🤟
I personally feel like metalcore breakdowns hit harder than deathcore most of the time because the rest of the song isn't as heavy as the breakdown while everything is heavy in a breakdown. I guess it's the same reason I appreciate cleans in metalcore, deathcore, death metal etc. because it contrasts from the rest of the song. Great video btw, cant wait for more
When I dance, my car does too 😎🤘🏻
That was a fun one, fellas! Much appreciated
I think we all perked up when adtr came up

No love for “Viva La Elton John” from Electric Callboy?
Metalcore obviously wins, Akudama hits harder than any deathcorr breakdown
