Gunfight with police leaves alleged Mthatha extortionist dead

The community of Mthatha West in the Eastern Cape is still gripped by fear after an alleged extortionist was shot dead by police on Wednesday.
Sakhumzi Dalinzolo Mareke was reportedly the mastermind behind the extortion ring operating in the Mthatha West area.
Police say he and two bodyguards confronted them when they conducted a disruptive operation at his home.
He then followed them inside the police base, where the shootout took place.
