To answer Matt's original question, it is too hopefully draw people into the site to buy a subscription so Helix can make money and people can watch the porn they produce. Francis, let's be honest though, it is like Helix Academy. It is porn first and foremost, the story is used to just move things along. Don't get me wrong, I think Helix sometimes does a very good job at it, at least they often make an effort to have a little story to actually go along with the sex. I have to disagree with you slightly, I still think the main reason people watch Helix is for the sexy boys having sex (would you watch this if it was all ugly people but the same story? No you wouldn't). But that being said, you are right in saying the fact they do try to do some creative things, esp compared to most porn, that it def adds to their fanbase immensely.
The pretense of “acting” is beyond ridiculous at this point. I understand what they’re doing- heck, I’d try it, too, if I was a porn director. So, I guess the takeaway is: hot boys or actors: you can only have one!
