Watching these streams got me back into playing dark souls I beat Ornstein and Smough a few days ago it was the most frustrating boss fight I’ve done so far
I think Jacob's right, an accessory is something you could remove and still be considered fully dressed, or, in other words, something that it wouldn't be weird if you were walking around without. like, if you see someone walking down the street not wearing a necklace, you probably wouldn't even notice, but if you see someone walking around without shoes, you'd be like, wtf

That might just be me but I hope it also happens to both un-inverted and inverted players.
I have a tip for Julia about parrying, if that's alright. I guess Jacob could read it first and decide whether or not it's ok? Tip below: To ensure you get the parry you need to stand as close to the enemy as possible. I'm 99% sure Julia's timing on some of the stabs from the halberd knight were correct but she was standing too far to get the parry. :(
Julia is kinda playing in ultra-hard mode trying to kill the butterfly with lvl 0 weapon. I usually have a +5 at that point, which makes massive difference. She would have easily won with even one or two upgrades.
i hope Julia doesn´t stop playing this because of the pressure she feals to make progress. Its just fun to watch someone experience this game for the first time, at this point i'm addicted to it xD
Jacob mentioning the word "indefatigable" around 32:20 gave me a chuckle because the only reason I know that word is Brian David Gilbert's Perfect Pokerap. The intefatigable Terry.
Julia don't read (unless you want to read, I can't stop you) I'm surprised one of Jacob's tips wasn't about upgrading your weapons. Once you find Andre the game scales up the health of the enemies a lot more, so upgrading your weapons should help a lot with the frustration. Regardless, looking forward to the next stream!
Stuck between a Havel, the Rock and a hard place. 42:35 And I love that Julia found the worst alternate path back to Firelink before the one the game puts right in front of you.
I almost never watch anything that's more than like 45 minutes. However, I've enjoyed every step of this journey so far. Maybe Jacob should have a chat with subscribers sans Julia and discuss helpful tips we have observed she could benefit from. Like how and when to use items (fire bombs, the lightning powder), how to level her weapons and other important npc info (never even seeing the merchant in the burg had me dead), and the wonders of bows (kite dragon's tail, butterfly, drawing single enemies from hordes).
Play this more, please! Haha, I'm unhealthily addicted, I appreciate sweet good people eagerly playing this game for the first time so much, and Julia is a top fav now, up there with KayPlays!
I think everyone who comes to the stream because you're playing dark souls realizes that it's a hard game and getting stuck and hitting walls is part of it And everyone there because it's SSS is having fun because it's you 2 streaming The people who are bored with the stream (if there are many people like that) just don't understand that that's like What Dark Souls is meant to be like
I seem to recall I got the Black Knight Halberd when I first killed the garden BK, and basically switched my entire build around using it cause it was so cool and strong :D
I'm screaming with how close she got to firelink. She walked right up to the gate and everything, but decided to go the other way for some reason... At least she's back in an area that's a little closer to her level. Darkroom garden is probably intended for someone a little bit higher, but as you pointed out, it can't be that dangerous if she can just walk though it like that.
Fun fact, Christina's my mom's cousin. I have no idea what relation that means she has to me (second cousin???) but yeah, it's a nice coincidence having one of the best fan videos in one of my favorite IP's based off of something made by someone I personally know.
Julia made me want to try playing dark souls. So I’m playing it on my brother’s computer, and he already had to beat a boss for me. Julia has all my respect.
really important to remember that where you're supposed to go is simply wherever the enemys are easiest to kill! And or whatever seems fun, of course There is no right way to play dark souls
you mentioned feeling weird gendering the butterfly, but based on my knowledge of trends in lepidopteran anatomy, the relatively smaller size of this butterfly's abdomen in proportion to the rest of its body, and the massive antennae, i would tentatively place it as a male of its species. I suspect that the tendrils at the end of the abdomen may be a sexual trait--akin to a peacock's tail--to attract a mate A female may have a larger abdomen (for eggs), if not an overall larger body, and smaller antenae (larger antennae are useful for tracking pheromones; typically a male trait. look to sexual dimorphism in silk moths). its coloration may be similar, or much more drab in comparison in order to help camouflage it from predators while it finds acceptable hosts on which to lay its eggs. Again making the comparison to silk moths, females may be almost territorial, staying near the area they eclosed from their chrysales, and males may travel long distances in order to find new mates and allow gene flow across populations. this would explain the wing-to-body ratio of the butterfly Julia fought being so drastic. it is likely built to travel great distances. This would also explain why this specimen was found so far from any caterpillars, discarded crysales, or other evidence of more of its population: he is a bachelor, somewhere in the middle of his long trip, seeking out other members of his species. I would be curious to examine this specimen's head, to determine if it has mouthparts, from a distance i can't make out any evidence of a proboscis, so i suspect that, yet again like the silkmoth, he is running on a time limit to breed before he starves to death. With the size of the creature, I wonder if he has larger energy stores and would last longer than the approximate 3 days of silkmoths, or if the energy cost of running such a massive body burns through calories even faster. surely casting all those magic lasers is only running his clock shorter, but, in terms of evolutionary adaptation, being able to cast spells to render potential predators as so much bloody paste is certainly a hard trait to discard. frankly. all things considered, I'm more terrified of the ecological apocalypse even a couple moonlight caterpillars would rain down upon us. A standard caterpillar the size of your little finger can easily eat 200 leaves before pupating. a caterpillar the size of a building would eat whole forests. Frankly, it's a relief that there aren't a great many of these creatures in the world. they would surely cause untold devastation to their host species.
Jacob i am BEGGING you please have one of your tips be explaining kindling and humanity. The game isn't going to, don't let her suffer with 5 estus like this

I think everyone who comes to the stream because you're playing dark souls realizes that it's a hard game and getting stuck and hitting walls is part of it
And everyone there because it's SSS is having fun because it's you 2 streaming
The people who are bored with the stream (if there are many people like that) just don't understand that that's like
What Dark Souls is meant to be like
I seem to recall I got the Black Knight Halberd when I first killed the garden BK, and basically switched my entire build around using it cause it was so cool and strong :D
1:32:19 Julia this was great to hear as a family inside joke. I’ve never heard anyone else say it and it brought a huge smile to my face!
I can't wait for Granny to use her famous parry technique to cheese Gwynn at the end
I'm so upset Jacob didnt mention the blacksmith. Julia is doing amazing considering we have a +0 weapon
Always fun to watch these two amazing people, and Jacob, you look great in a simple black shirt and jeans, well done!
The wait was worth it perfect joke 10/10
Julia getting the Halbert like this is sooo funny xD
The Pruld's We are the Souls video is set to a song by Christina Perri. If you've played Dark Souls, I highly recommend you watch it.
36:25 I'm always amazed at how often they reference Tubthumping
amazing stream
Granny Smith rules
'You can't block a hug'
lmao
I really dont know you guys but i gotta say this is my favorite series right now xDDD
the intro...............i luv u jacob
really important to remember that where you're supposed to go is simply wherever the enemys are easiest to kill! And or whatever seems fun, of course
There is no right way to play dark souls
Julia is her own worse enemy with how she just runs past everything but I really enjoy it. You do You!
you mentioned feeling weird gendering the butterfly, but based on my knowledge of trends in lepidopteran anatomy, the relatively smaller size of this butterfly's abdomen in proportion to the rest of its body, and the massive antennae, i would tentatively place it as a male of its species. I suspect that the tendrils at the end of the abdomen may be a sexual trait--akin to a peacock's tail--to attract a mate
A female may have a larger abdomen (for eggs), if not an overall larger body, and smaller antenae (larger antennae are useful for tracking pheromones; typically a male trait. look to sexual dimorphism in silk moths). its coloration may be similar, or much more drab in comparison in order to help camouflage it from predators while it finds acceptable hosts on which to lay its eggs.
The game isn't going to, don't let her suffer with 5 estus like this
I'm entertained so hard right now.
This is my favorite series. I love you guys and I love your cats.
I like this, please do more
1:16:19 best moment
Nice
