Thanks Lindsay, appreciate it. I will make sure to cover wind bars at some point also!
Thank you !,,
Thanks!
Thank you so much! Just getting back into doing some small art pieces and this was amazing at helping me understand how these work. Even though they look simple it’s difficult for me to accomplish something that looks even partially correct. Thank you again.
No worries at all man! Good to hear your getting back into it. Finger waves look simple, but simple doesn’t mean easy 😊
@@DaggetDesigns Usually simple is harder cus it has to be perfect
Thanks for this lesson, teacher! So easy to understand, now!!!
No worries at all! Happy to help

Great tutorials, is the ecoline pen a water based ink, seeing as you’re using a watercolor pen to blend out?
Water based bro! 🤘🏼
Amazing channel!!
Thank you so much Henry!
Great tutorial man.... are u using the eco line water color pens or just the regular paint pens?
Thanks Jack, They are ecoline ink pens. So basically they are filled with Ecoline water based inks and can be blended with a water colour brush. 👍🏼
Just found your channel and its fantastic. I've been really trying to get my head around doing japanese water / waves, this vid has helped me immensely. Cheers bro👍

Hi bro, started watching your videos, learning to draw. Could you make a video about what you use in different jobs and where you can buy the same. The whole arsenal, so to speak :D
Hey brother, I’ll definitely consider doing a video like this, thanks for watching 😁
@@DaggetDesigns Thanks for the video: D
Always been struggeling with fingerwaves, not so much the wave itself but the direction and the flow. Another thing that's a struggle and this may sound strange is the water pen. With slightly larger area's i can't get the fade equaly on paper. Been using Fabriano Cold pressed, hot pressed not available for the longest time here and also been using Ecoline paper from the same brand as the markers. 24 x 32 cm
- 300 g/m2, 140 lbs. It tends to get kinda messy. And no i'm not squeezing the water pen :-) Anyway thanks for the vid, great job as always.
Yeah the direction and flow is certainly a difficult part to get, possibly wasn’t best explained in this video but its something that comes from practice and is the harder part to do. Even i struggle with it at times. Sounds like you’re on the money with the papers and medium you’re using man. Getting the smooth blend in a large area can be really difficult and sometimes my blends aren’t all that smooth. My advice for that is 1. Close up those blending areas and make more tight spots to blend in and out off, breaking it up gives you smaller areas to blend and less likely to get uneven blends. 2. Don’t stress 😅art isn’t about being perfect, do the best you can each day and it will keep gettin better, but either way hand made art always looks better 🤙🏼 thanks for watching man and keep it up
@@DaggetDesigns Thanks for the tips, I'll keep plowing on ;-)
Awesome tutorial! May I ask what pens your are using for the shading? I’ve been using water color but this looks so much more tattoo-like and easier
Hey Amelie 😁 thanks for stopping by
I use liquitex acrylic inks for painting flash. i believe in this video I used Ecoline markers and a brush pen 😁 hope this helps
@@DaggetDesigns thanks a bunch!
@@DaggetDesigns duh sorry I watched again and you clearly said what they were haha
@@mostlyamelie no stress :)
Please do clouds next
Thanks, will keep this in mind

Hey man thanks so much for your kind words! Keep practicing your finger waves and keep a close eye on the way that I do them and others do theirs, you’ll get it in no time 😁🤙🏼
Hey Dag how are you buddy? Quick question, when coloring waves and wind bars, can you go from light to dark? Thanks!
You sure can! 👍🏼 but i wouldn’t do dark from the tip of waves back.
@@DaggetDesigns Cool thanks Dagg! ✌️
Nice work! Do you by any chance, have a tutorial on drawing the body of a dragon?
Thanks so much 😊 i dont currently but I may do one for sure!
@@DaggetDesigns Thank you. I just started following you on FB. How do I submit a drawing? Do I send it to the website via email?
You can send it via facebook messenger, tag me on Instagram or email me at dagget.designs@gmail.com. Thanks :)
la cagó al final jaja
What do the directions of the flow of waves represent?
Not too sure what they represent, i tend to have them follow my background for the most part. However if I want a more chaotic feel to the illustration i’ll do them in all different directions.
This kind of wave is actually originally from Mainland China. During the Song dynasty, the artist Ma Yuan is well-known for drawing different kinds of Water waves. Water Album is one of his best drawing collections. So technically this is Chinese wave.
Good to know, thanks Brandee.
Commonly used throughout Japanese tattooing and illustration, though China and Japan share a lot of commonality in the art
