Hi , I have a query, I am working on a wedding project with 3 video cameras, and the size of all the cameras is 160 GB, and when I worked on the Final Cut program, I used proxy media and Ubtomized Media, and the size of the Ubtomized Media folder reached 300 GB, and I used a hard disk of 1 TB, what is Ubtomized Media? ? Is optimized media necessary when using proxy media? The problem I have is that the hard disk is full and I did not finish the wedding ,I am using the Render Auto, the Render Auto is working and I am working on the project 😅

My suggestions would be that if your device is able to handle the resolution, don’t bother creating these optimized media and proxy media.

@@EditTutLC thank you for answer me, My device is Mac Mini M1 16GB RAM 512 SSD, but when I worked on the project without a proxy media and Optimized Media it was very slow and I could not work on the project

@@o_studio87photography89 I see, then I would suggest connecting to an external SSD. What I have done was I get a SSD Dock (NVM2) and got a SSD (Samsung evo 980 etc). You could try this method, and migrate your render files (cache) there, on the external drive.

@@EditTutLC I am working on the project on an external SSD SanDisk 2000 speed, I will try to work without proxy media and Optimized Media and I will turn off the background of the renderer, because when I work on a large project, the renderer takes a long time ، But when I turn off the background renderer, does the video quality decrease when I export? Thank you for your time and answer me 🌹☺️

@@o_studio87photography89 well you can always lower the resolution in your viewer during edits. In terms of background renders, I do not think they mattered when you export.
