Back in the 70's and 80's we used to call ambulances 'meat wagon's'. Joking apart, it is so difficult losing a casualty, it is something you never get used to.
No like he said he just a kid. Not love just first time he had to face no mate how you try you can save everyone. 24 years on ambulances. I’ve seen my fair share of super heroes till they have to face its not like that
They seemed to like that area for filming, they did another shout there and also the shout where John hallam died was filmed at the old British sugar factory that used to be slightly further down the road from this one. 🙂
As much as I love London’s Burning I can’t help feel the continuity was poor on some episodes. For example this shout is on Blackwall’s ground according to the radio message yet the emergency attendance was already quite considerable by the time they arrived…
In the message.....the fire engines the camera is riding on is E216 (E216, E216 orfer your appliance to a train derailment at Littlemore Junction..E44's ground)....when the fire engine turns up....Blackwall are already on scene which tells me that they don't show the derailment or Blackwall arriving
@@stephenmansfield2658 Echo 21 must have been a pretty large station. Croydon (H31) doesn't even have 6 appliances, and they're divisional HQ! It's all different these days, the letter and first 2 are still the station, but now the last number denotes appliance type.

Why did they discontinue the 2 stretcher ambulances? What happened? What issues were there with them?
@johnarat9618 its harder to take care of 2 causties especially if they both critical
Colin's first love in this segment! He got so emotional!

@@LC128 It was only my first interpretation, not trying to make this seem mushy.
@@BlueTGM40 fair one
Wasn't this filmed at the Nene Valley Railway?
I've just looked it up, and it appears it was. Coming from the area, I recognised the ATS garage that is in the background of the scene.
