This was largely down to a bus crash into a low bridge that involved a group of Girl Guides and their leaders from Drumchapel in September 1994. A friend of mine died that day and, after watching this several years later, this still haunts me!
A bunch of loonies learned their lesson the hard way, not the brightest idea, and could have been more polite or so, and they wouldn't have crashed under the bridge.
As you saw, much bigger than anything the Old Bill has in their fleet so forming a roadblock would be pointless, unless you used either vans or a couple of tanks!

I heard about two teenage joyriders who stole a bus and crashed it, their excuse was they did not have enough money for the bus fare home.
