Thank you SO much for this!! ive got a sulfite intolerance and apparently most frozen chips have sulfites to stop them going brown. really excited to make these!! :)
Great recipe! One thing I really like about your videos is that you include a lot of explanations and suggestions, such as the tip to talk to our green grocery to choose the best type of potato. All of those tips are helpful. Thanks for explaining why you soaked / washed the potatoes. I have heard that removing the starch is very important. Soak/wash, boil, first fry, then second fry--that's a lot of work, but it's worth it. I have never seen a chip sandwich--is that a UK thing? Another great video! Yours are always so professionally made. Top-notch work!
Thanks Parnell. Triple cooked chips are really popular in the UK but they are fried twice, the final fry at 180c. That means that you need to heat oil up whenever you want chips. With this method the effort goes in before freezing. Then you can quickly finish them off in the oven whenever it suits. Keeps the washing up to a minimum ;)
Nearly forgot... yes the chip butty is most definitely a UK thing, and it's a very good thing! You need very soft white bread, lot's of butter and hot chips (so that is melt the better). Buttered white rolls are sold in our fish and chips shops to do just this!
@@CulinaryExploration Oh wow! Very interesting. I may have to try that. I have never had a proper fish and chips from the UK...but if I ever go to the UK, I will have to try it haha
Made these and they are perfect. I fried from frozen. It works without defrosting just add in little by little or the oil will splatter out of control.
I fancy tripled cooked oven chips but ... I didn't realise they take that much time... I haven't eaten these chips in ages and I am proper craving them... This is why I hate being skint.... Really want to go down the pub for these... I don't drink but if you ever find in a pub... It's for the triple cooked chips
Hi! Excellent video. Can I ask?.... Have you ever tried, on your chip buttie (or pretty-much any sandwich actually) just putting a of malt vinegar all over the slices (on the side to be buttered) The sprinkle is not tasted, but somehow really enhances the flavour. I found this by accident!!! All the best, and thank you again. S.
After I have washed the chips drain them then put them in my 1000w microwave for 5 minutes in a Pyrex casserole dish then i deep frie them until light brown, then cool on a tray until cold then freeze them.
How long did you boil them for u till they were done ... You didnt mention in the video... Would be a good guidline for me! Also during the first fry was the hob on low medium or High flame? How long did they take to get a light crisp?
Appreciate the simplicity of your video and humbleness you execute in your video, thanks for sharing!
God...I’m hungry now
You know what you're doing, now so do I and all those I love.
All my best
My fiancé and I absolutely loved these mate. Was delicious and not too hard or time consuming. Cheers!

@@CulinaryExploration Oh wow very interesting. I hate cleaning, so anything that reduces cleaning is OK with me lol

Thanks Hien, do let me know if you are going to try the recipe!
Can you confirm oven temp? Video states preheat oven to 220 the description 200? 🤔
Looking forward to trying this 😁
Never had a potato sandwich, that will soon change.
Would olive oil make any difference?
Its one of the healthiest to fry with, I use to deep fry
Was that a chip/ fries sandwich🤔...
Recipe turned out great. I did a 2 day process
Can't beat a chip butty ;)

“Until almost falling apart”
You don’t use time as there too many external factors.
Please listen and understand better.
Lol... all that for a chip buttie!! 🍟🥪🤣
Looks super tasty, but these aren't oven chips if you're deep frying them beforehand.
All oven chips are deep fried before they are frozen, that's why they have oil on them.
First time in my life have I seen someone make a sandwich and DIP it in sauce 😱
sorry - my comment should have read " just putting a SPRINKLE of malt vinegar all over the slices (on the side to be buttered)
Why would you put carbs between more carbs lmao
How are you not 300 pounds, lol?
Don't you mean British fries, NOT english
Yes, I stand corrected! British fries! Cheers for watching and commenting :)
British CHIPS.
As British as a Cypriot potato😂😂😂
With all that said i think ill now go and get some Bitatos from the fish n chip shop
