Just got a used pair of KEF R3 (Non Meta), my first KEF. I really enjoy them, great soundstage width and depth. I used Erin's video and data to make the purchasing decision since I could not audition them. Data showed a neutral response and wide even frequency response.
Hi, Any known issues with the built in amplifiers in these KEF LS60 speakers? What happens in the case of an amplifier failure? How much warranty does KEF give on these? Thanks
5:45 Erin, why do you perfer choosing your own amp? Can you afford the salaries of multiple engineers to develop 3-6 amps per speaker that will power it perfectly without blowing it and lower crossover distortion and allow EQing the individual drivers? As a passive speaker they become blowable, bass will almost be guaranteed to be worse, response likely less smooth... Just seems like an archaic approach similar to "I wish I could pick the carberator for my Camry." I get the fewer wires argument but other than that... Why?
