Yes you need to do the DOD delete asap. Do not wait for a lifter to fail, just do it. Turning the DOD off with a tuner does not mean the lifters still won't fail because they definitely will.
Can't wait to see part 3. I'm in the planning phase of doing this to my G8 so you videos have been helpful. Are you going to replace the water pump since you have it out? Do you think the AC condenser will be in the way? I ask this because mine leaks power steering fluid and I might wait on fixing the leak when I do the delete. What cam are you going with?
part 3 has been recorded for the most part, ill start editing it tonight. not a lot of info to be had in part 3 we basically pulled the old cam out and threw in the new one. There will be lots of commentary with it tho
Did you finish it up? i'm in the middle of doing mine as well, got the new cam and lifters installed, just need to work on the heads then put everything back together.
@@LukeWaters i was looking forward to doing the camm swap anytime soon idk i just wanna work on my car my self i wanna know what ive actually done to it i just really dont know the whole process on doing it lol but your two videos were great 👍🏽

Thanks man! I'm taking an extra shot for you tonight my guy thanks for being my 1000th subscriber!!
I know this is an older video, but why wouldnt you install new 7.4" hardened pushrods while you were there and rocker trunion upgrades?
Good job be patient 💯
Great video.
thanks man! been a process for sure lol
Think is a good idea getting one with 180k miles none DOD delete. Has SCR tuner tho.
as long as the previous owners took care of it I wouldnt see why not
@@LukeWaters yes checked the vin and has good maintenance. Also lower control arms were changed at 165k. And tranny was checked.
@@anthonyperez1889 check for rust and if it's clean go for it!
