I don't care much about the CT design but, in the "CT anthill" renderings by Grok, there's a cute Cybertruck-y compact car! Bottom right picture, around 1:01-1:04, bottom of the heap, in the middle.
The next few months and years are going to be interesting. I hope the stars align enough for me to get a CyberTruck next year or so. Good mix of commentary.
This morning it was 5 deg. I had 90% battery so I didn't plug it in overnight. I hit the defrost a few minutes before I left. I only have a 4 mile tcommute. The Wh/mi went up to 960 so I turned the heat off. A little bit of frost over the camera wouldn't let FSD engage even thought was less occluded than my trip to DC. Don't you think all the cameras will need washer fluid or some other means of cleaning to be a real robotaxi? We can't have cars stopping on the side of the road all the time with people getting out to clean the cameras.
@jeremy...I ceramic coated my 2020 ModelY, including cameras, when brand new and installed AbstractOcean's hydrophobic rear camera cover, so I've never had an obscured camera alert.
Even at 960 Wh/mi, you wouldn’t drain the battery. The rate drops quickly from those levels. You must be a new user. Trust the car. You didn’t need to freeze on your four mile commute.
Trump has said he would eliminate the regulations on auto makers and told big oil he would end EV's, ZEV credits are regulatory credits, Trump often does not actually do what he promises so we will see.
There are 15000 electric semi trucks in Europe and the UK. 43% of them are volvo. All electric pod casters talk about is how tesla’s electric semi is nearly available. Why not mention the other companies who actually do make them? Follow electric trucker if you’re interested in how well/badly they work. Excellent podcast btw
Randy, I can answer your question about what Trump is contemplating: he announced he'll create the "External Revenue Service" to collect tariffs. Because he believes that China will... pay them. And he'll have his people somehow hocus-pocus the official budget numbers to count tariffs (payed by domestic companies) as external revenue. Voilà! Deficit reversed!
Also, CT might not be selling well enough as is and so China and the cheaper version are being considered when they wouldn’t otherwise. Not a negative guy, I own a CT after all (a M3 as well). I don’t want it to be true but it might be the case that the CT is too expensive to reach the sales numbers needed to justify keeping the line running for just 2&3 motor versions. TBH I’m hoping this might encourage Tesla/Franz/designers to come up with variants sooner like dually’s and off road specials. Maybe even a trailer or camper addition.
@ yeah, I vote dem, though I don’t call myself one. Not sure why Elons politics would keep it off the Tesla site. Seems to me it should be up there as a demand driver for as long as it can be
@ just since CT hasn’t been eligible so far in ‘24 and the intransigence they’ve experienced I guess is what I was thinking could lead to it not being up there. Too much to lose if it doesn’t work, kind of
Most people? Are you a LSM devotee? My friends and I are all CT fans, but we are patiently waiting until we can buy it without a loan. I have $50k in a 4.1% CD, so I'll order my 3 motor and try to be the unexpected 1st...🤓
They really aren't comparable vehicles. The CT is the best selling car in the US over $100K, the 3rd best selling BEV in the US, and it blew up the internet. I would suggest the last point shows even if the majority dislike the CT, those who do, are raving fans.
This guy says that a i n 3D printers are going to change things don't you think the Chinese doesn't have this technology of course they do tariffs is the only way to go
Thanks Brian and Randy! If one of the main reasons manufacturing moved to China over the past 20+ years was the low labor costs, I agree with you guys on the benefit of AI and Robotics, becaue then there will be no reason to have so much of manufacturing done overseas. And, then you also save on transportation cost to get the products here. Sounds like a win-win for North America and Europe.
You don’t want to bite the hand that feeds you is what you are looking for.
BRIAN💪❤: Provides great insight with humor 💪
I live in north Texas and see Teslas all the time. I have two neighbors that have them.
When do you expect the model q to be released?
Uggh, that Nasty Boys song popped in my head. Thanks Brian...
10:06 “but smarter people make fun of my opinion”
Thanks for all the great info Brian and Randy
Our pleasure!

Cameras are heated, so shouldn't be an issue.
And on the CT the front bumper camera has a washer too.
Why did you turn off the heat if you had 90% on your battery and a 4 mile commute?!?!?

@bobcalvo1680 my first winter...
I'm in Indiana. Indiana does not allow car sales without a dealer. Any hope if this state law going away?
I used FSD yesterday with a 1/2" of snow on the road. As soon as the wheels slipped, it disengaged.
Interesting.
Lots of tailwinds, but our relationship with China could be a real problem.
Thumb down for altering the title. Causes confusion. Please avoid that.
Gemini showed me a two door model 3 concept on the first try. It was ugly, but it was there.

No, Greenland is included in the US numbers. I heard it's a scam. Iceland is green and Greenland is ice.
I remember hearing that the Panasonic 4680 had 5 tabs and the difference in performance was minimal. Has this changed?
Maybe it was

There's still room for Nikola if they can overcome market headwinds
There's room of course. There's just no evidence they can reach gross profitability, let alone net.
Any thoughts on why the federal credit is not on the order page for Cybertruck?
No idea. IRS says it qualifies.
Politics is my guess 🙁 and I’m a Dem, still, somehow lol

Have you never heard of Photoshop for dummies😂
I personally will buy a Tesla once the passenger models offer V2G & V2L & new models become less than the cost of a human organ!
I love Tesla. I own a 24 M3P. Most people do not love the Cybertruck. I don't think it will do well. Model Y could kill it.

@@geoffgeoff3333 Just ask Kim K. and her 350M gram followers or Shaq, who has 2.
@ No don't I don't care for the looks. I prefer the Lightning or the R1T
@ Certainly not comparable; for a $100k truck, I prefer the R1T Trimotor
Robotics 3D printing
Hmmmm good idea on US manufacturing
Through the roof…by 2026…:)$$$
This guy says that a i n 3D printers are going to change things don't you think the Chinese doesn't have this technology of course they do tariffs is the only way to go
3D printing isn't cheaper. Not paying the freight for a local 3D print is what makes it work.
Gary, analysis of Tesla is quickly becoming irrelevant. The flippy floppy and wishy-washy makes this so............
still the worst.
Buck up Rob, somebody must love you.
😂
Kinda left yourself open to that
