Man, I just love riding 2-strokes. Just grabbed myself a really nice 04' KDX 200. Perfect bike for the tight woods that I ride here in the Pacific Northwest..
Definitely the tool for the job, I had an 86’ IT200 I wish Yamaha would have continued the line. I’d buy a WR200 in a heart beat.
Saw cop...didn't say anything, plays it cool, runs in shop. Haha.... YEAH, I raced an older 89 YZ 250 back in the New England Championship Series at CCC and LOVED it!!! Ran strong, super fast and my buddy who had a YZ 490 at the time said my bike smoked his. No doubt!

nobody luvs peppyi If I didn’t have the land I would have not bought a dirt bike. I have a lot of friends with beautiful bikes collecting dust in the garage. I ride almost seven days a week.

Very agile and incredible handling bike 👍 2005 was a break through for Yamaha with that new aluminum frame. In my opinion they perfected the YZ250.
That is a 2005. That are not sss forks and the older(grey) rear shock also
shock is silver... definitely not a stock 06+ shock
Very nice bro. I had a 99' 400f and that thing was a beast that threw me around like a rag doll and im 6'2 220lbs. One thing about Yz's they force you to conform to it and when you get dialed in... that's a wrap!
Picking up a 2018 Monday I love these I used to have an 06 and an 07 shouldn’t have sold either and will not be making that mistake again, this one rips good as well good purchase to who ever gets it

The two stokes actually got the aluminum frame first in 05 and 06 the four strokes got it.

I have a 1996 cr125(6 gears) how does it compare to this, also how does this compare to a 450 ,thinking of getting a 250 2t after watching this video, WOW
450 is much stronger overall, but bigger, less agile... And the sss kayaba suspension on the YZ is the best of stock suspensions.

Power wise is it faster ?
@@jamesblanco4843 Absolutely. I have a 450, a 350 and a 250 2t and the 450 is much stronger than the 250 2t. A 50hp lightswitch powerband feels very weak compared to a wide 55 hp powerband. The 4t put the power to the ground much more efficiently too. But, of course, it all comes down to the rider. A good rider on a 250 2t can smoke an average rider on a 450 very easily. On a technical stand point, the 450 is easier to ride because you have power everywhere all the time. It can pull 3 different gears anytime. The 250 needs to be kept in it's narrower powerband and need much more precision and clutchwork. But the two can wear you out physically... one because of the huge power and big bike feel, the other because you have to be on the pipe and agressive all the time. That's why the perfect size for me is the 350. It has a 250 handling with a near 450 acceleration on top, but much smoother ''non arm stretching'' bottom end.

Definitely is not a 2006 yz250 I recently bought this bike and after watching this video and looking the bike over it does not have the sss forks and shock if it is a 2006 kaplan cycles or andrew switched out the suspension for 05 suspension was very disappointed. I called kaplan cycles and the gentleman I spoke with had no idea about anything motorcycle related and didn't care to get me any help he just googled sss forks to tell me the difference very disappointed in such a " high " quality shop/museum

I know this is an old video but I still think you should talk your dad into racing the yz250 over 500, you are very nibble on these bikes and the 250 could beat a 500 on track which has been proven in past by pros, long wide open tracks the 500 is king but most tracks are not wide open 500 so get back on 250 is my opinion.
