excellent review. i see you like the stars and the astras. they are both great little guns and offer many to choose from. it's a shame they are no longer with us.
Just picked up one on gunbroker for $225.00. 9 MM Very pleased with it. It seems to have had limited use. I also purchased an A-75 40 caliber and the A-60 in 380.
I was happy to listen to you say the A-80 had a 12 round capacity in 38 Super as I was led to believe it was 15 like the 9mm. I fought and fought to get even 12 rounds in but after a day of 11 rounds loaded the 12th. went in. No way could I get another in there. PS: The sights on my A-80 are adjustable for windage by sliding the sight in the dovetail, but not for elevation. Great review video, thanks so much!
Thanks for the video .it looks like you got a really good shape example .I was bidding on one of these in 38 super on G.B a little while back .it went for a ridiculous amount .I know there not historic or popular but theres just something about the value that grabs me .
Yeah for the price and condition im really impressed with it. Sort of have a thing for Spanish pistols now it seems. .38 super ain't a caliber you see everyday anymore either. Thanks for watching.
I bought a used Astra A-80 .45 ACP back around in the 1990's, it was my first gun. I paid the original owner $150 for the pistol and shot it at the range many times. I remember that it would start to jam after shooting two mags. Sold the Astra A-80 several years later and bought a new Glock 17 9mm with the money.
I have an A-80 in .45 ACP, which I carried for years, and still do on occasion. It's been very sturdy and reliable. If you paid under $300, you got a real steal. I admit the DA trigger is long, and the SA is European "mushy" feel, which takes some getting used to. It is however a very solid and servicable handgun. Does NOT feel "cheap." If I could find one in .38 Super I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Rather than .32 ACP, as you said, which in Europe is called the 7.65 mm Browning, I believe the A-80 came in 7.65 mm _Parabellum_, which we'd refer to as .30 Luger. The .30 Luger is actually not a bad cartridge, much more powerful than the .32 ACP, with velocities about like the 9x19mm, although not quite as powerful as the 7.62x25mm (.30 Tokarev).
there was an a-100 in .45acp in a local pawnshop awhile back. they wanted 369 i think for it. was in stellar shape. thought about getting it but i passed. kinda regretting it now.
and i was wondering do u have to rack the slide back in order to shoot it or could u just pull the hammer down (asking for my mom because she’s too weak to rack the slide)
I had an A90 bought new, and the mag capacity was 17. But the gun was designed in a way that it was super-safe to carry with 1 in the chamber as well, for total of 18. With the safety engaged and 1 up, hammer cocked, ready to fire, you could pull the trigger but it would not fire. So carrying with 1 up and as ready to go as it could be, it remained absolutely safe. Just thumb the safety and fire. It was pretty chunky and heavy but okay to carry, and shot well without any problems no matter what 9mm ammo was fed through it.
My A-100 ua-cam.com/video/yDgps5D60Os/v-deo.html BTW, I do have to still adjust my grip to drop the mag even though the position of the release was improved. The DA on my A-100 is smooth and consistent but still heavy. Not like your older version obviously. The slang term/name you are looking for is kind of disparaging what they were called, the "Sigspanic." As opposed to any company name I don't know. Just know them by their "A" for Astra numbers. The big problem is parts availability since Astra is no longer in business and Sig parts don't fit Astra part dimensions. It is accurate and very reliable.
Hey sorry for the late response. your comment was held for review for some reason and i just got around to approving it. Great video and thanks for the information. still havent gotten around to shooting mine, maybe next weekend we'll see. thanks for watching ill check your other vids out too.

Yeah its a shame, they made good pistols. Thanks for watching.

So are the magazines interchangeable in the three models?
I dont believe so
Sí, valen para la A80, A90 y A100. Tengo una A90 con cargadores de 15 y 17 cartuchos. Los de 17 son de la A100.

I love my Astra A70 its 9mm 8 round mag it's sad most people in the states dont know much about them they made a great full metal firearm
The Spanish made some really good handguns.
Had one back in the 80's love the pistol and as I recall accurate, regret selling it
I love it so far
Thanks for the video! I do love my classic Sigs, and this really does look like a p226. How has it been shooting for you?
Still haven't gotten around to it, I'll let you know when i do.
I was just gifted an A-90 this was helpful I didn't know much about it
Glad my video helped you then!
@@scooter4849 helped a lot. Should be fun getting some practice with it soon.
I really like my A-80. Numrich gun parts has extra magazines for these.
Same Here.

If only you bought a norinco or polytech in the 90s....

I would say finding a holster for this would be hard too
i have an a80 and was wondering how reliable these guns are? had urs ever jammed on u and do u have any ammo recommendations it’s a 9mm
and i was wondering do u have to rack the slide back in order to shoot it or could u just pull the hammer down (asking for my mom because she’s too weak to rack the slide)
Sorry for the extremely late reply. Ive only shot mine very little over the years but ive had no problems with it.

Hey thanks for sharing your experience with the A90. i like the 80 so far.
Very nice. Glockshooter79 recommended you and I can see he was right. Subbed
Thanks my friend.
Same here good video sir 👍👍
@@ninjascout468 Thanks as well.
I had a nickle plated one one of the biggest regrets i had was selling it but my son needed diapers so hey was worth the sell i guess
Yeah your children always come first i suppose.
A friend of mine got an a90 for 75$ out from another of his friends with 3 mags
what a deal
I think I'm going to get one. Good video as usual. You will want to check out my video this evening. It is uploading now.
Yeah dunno if mine is indicative of the batch but i assume so. i will.

@@scooter4849 Thanks. It was probably held because of the disparaging term. Here is my shooting video of it.
