Wow. I can not believe the tip situation!! 50 is too much and 3 hrs is way too long!!! I believe u could have gotten a fill, I have done that in the past a few times and I always switch colors. U rock for doing these challenges
Im a nail tech. Soaking is the proper way but an hour is too much. If they cut them down and file them down to thin them oit it should take maybe a 30 min soak. Then of course most chop shops use illegal acrylic and its a nightmare to take off hints the hour soak. Girrrl if youre ever in south louisiana come through and let me hook you up! $50 with me will get you a long fullset with accent nails and i uae quality acrylic! Check out my IG if you'd like! @Powder_Polish
Makeupbypita omg I cant believe it. Where I go they’re the sweetest people and if it’s your first time getting diamonds they don’t charge extra. I got ombré gel acrylic and it was sooo good, all for 30 dollars! The girl before me had all bling “cardi B “ style nails for 50$. If only you could go and see for yourself!
They should NEVER NEVER EVER pop you’re nail off ! That will damage your nail so fast . The correct way is either filing the nail down carefully or soaking them off .
Soaking your nails is best for your nails. Popping them off with a nail extension(tips) is actually frowned upon since it peals up your natural nails and damages it.
Girl, SHE was RIGHT to soak off the acrylic. That’s the proper way to remove acrylic and most gels. They’re not supposed to pop it off or file it all off because it can be risky as it can over-file your natural nails and weaken them. Gels, acrylic etc don’t damage the nails it’s when you rip the enhancements off or over-file that weakens them. Acetone has been proven not to damage nails either it can dry them out a bit but that’s about it The new nails are neither thick or bulky. There is a proper apex which is what makes them last/keeps them strong. In fact your “before” set had little to no apex. An apex is necessary for length otherwise they will snap off. Similar to how most people’s natural nails don’t last as long, generally because of a lack of an apex and your old set, two nails were crooked. The new set I didn’t see any crooked. Also, when it comes to dip powders, or just nail products in general it’s not recommended to mix brands because it can effect adhesion and longevity so she was right to do a full set because she doesn’t know what the other tech used. I think it makes more sense for a pro to do this challenge since most pros know right from wrong with these things
QueenShād absolutely agree they shouldn't be popped off it sounds like your usual nail tech got it wrong and they are the bad shop your looking for I'm a nail tech and you should do your research before doing a vid like this because these nails look more professional than yore before set
Nail tech here too!! I hate when people come in on lunch and is upset we Cant do it in that time! At ours the price starts out at one number, than you add for, shape length gel polish, (a redo color ) design gems and sometimes the Mat top coat is more... A good salon will tell you before they do this, some maybe not charge for a change color if you didn't like the first one. This "challenge " should be done by other techs who knows the right way!
Ashley S. Right? Some really think a set is done in under 30 minutes! For me, I’m more of an independent tech and I charge a fixed rate for extensions with solid color gel polish, the only add ons I have are for crystals, glitter, designs etc any of those that are added time like pink and whites. I only use gels so I don’t really have gel polish as an add on for extensions. But I remove any product that was from a previous tech, no charge if they’re getting a set from me. I definitely don’t rip off the enhancement or files it all off, that is insane if she really goes to salons that do that
QueenShād right but soaking in alcohol for an HOUR is not okay??? I used to work as a nail tech (granted for less than 2 years) but we weren’t supposed to leave fingers soaking much longer than 20 minutes. Being left to soak for an hour is outrageous
Angelica Torres it normally takes 30-40 minutes to soak off. At thirty minute mark you check but if they aren’t soaking off, do an extra 10-20 minutes. It depends on how you’re taught/what book or where you learned. Ex. In my book I was taught to apply barrier cream and then just soak them as is like how I mentioned but Personally, I cut them, file them a bit and then soak them and they come off in under 20 min but that’s not how I was taught so it depends on where you are and what book is used in the schools curriculum or if your salon follows that or not.
@@iss3888 it doesn't matter if it's rented, a nail salon shouldn't look that unsafe and unsanitary. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't pass a health inspection. Normally when people go to cheap looking place it's because they don't charge a lot.
It's funny that a lot of ya'll on here are bashing her but the nail salon that she filmed at is in FACT the worse nail salon in our city and it kills me because only if ya'll knew the type of service they give LMAO
Have to agree with commenters. I'm a nail technician with ten years experience. Industry standard timing in the UK is up to 2 hours for Acrylic extensions. For a full remove and reapply, with polish (you only had top coat so I guess that wouldn't count for you here) 3 hours would be about right considering the acrylics were originally done by someone else. As nail techs you have to be so careful removing someone else's product - you don't know what it is or how it will react. 100% SOAK OFF ACRYLIC. Getting nails done in 45 minutes means they are taking short cuts - popping the nail off, overusing nail drills, rushing the job. There are so many steps they are probably ignoring. I'd say if they take less than 1 hour 15, don't trust them. I'll be honest, the nails don't look amazing, but they aren't thick. That is normal...
Thank you thank you so much for telling the truth the Vitamins do shitty ass work and want top notch Dollar for it, and I knew they were cutting steps that is why they produce such shitty work thank you
Hi 100 percent with you this time ,i'm nail tech in uk and only soak off in my salon with someone else product if it's mine and returning customer then file down to clear layer and apply design, after 2 infills it's a soak off. Also your nails don't look half bad x
Yes!!! They aren’t thick. Did she looked how long her nails are?? They can’t be paper thin, they have to be a lil bit thicker because not, they would broke so easily.
Misfit B wow I didn’t know Vitamins can do nails. Hopefully they don’t do a shitty job when I use their supplements. I would hope they serve a purpose for my nutritional health, thank you for pointing out how shitty the Vitamins can be! I find vitamins to be very useful, especially Vitamin A when I eat my carrots
I’m a nail technician. They way they removed your acrylics is completely correct! If they just cut them down & pop them off by using a plastic nail tip that’s EXTREMELY incorrect & SUPER damaging to your natural nails. It can cause permanent damage to your nail beds, tear the nails, cause permanent dents etc.... Chop Shops like those typically don’t have colored acrylic. Much less the exact same color u had on. But she still could of given u different options & explained why instead of making u get a new set. I would of just walked away... she could of given u different options... she easily could of mixed powders to get the closest match possible, used 1 she did have & just paint over it or even mixed glitter with acrylic & done an ombre. Smh this made mad! I would of never made you get a full set if you didn’t need it!!
Karina Avila I’m at nail tech too and I didn’t even watch the whole video.. if u come in with colored acrylic that u got done somewhere else why would assume they would have the exact color to match to fill you nails.. yea they could have told her they can fill it with the best match and polish over it.. she was just dramatic and annoying.. that place was disgusting though I would let them touch me!
Mommy&MeTV I completely agree, But the lady was kind of rude to her about it & didn’t even bother explaining why or give her other options. And you’re right she was being a bit dramatic but she wasn’t aware that chop shops like those typically don’t have colored acrylic. I feel like she did the most just for this video. I would of never gotten a full new set just for them to come out super shitty like hers did😂😂 plus she could of gotten an infection!! How scary
I don’t work over someone else’s “work”. I will soak off. How do you guarantee your work if you just do a fill or rebalance on a previous set? I don’t guarantee so a soak off is a must.
I’m a nail tech and the proper way to remove acrylic nails is by soaking off.... if you pop them off you are taking parts of your nail with it causing your nails to become weak and brittle....
Hell yea that shit TEARS your real nails up... ppl dont realize that ppl supposedly get acrylic overlay to HELP them grow their nails not to DAMAGE them worse!!!
Your absolutly right! Peeling them off with another nail also ruins the natural nail plate and can lead to infectious also maybe burn in the uv lamp once u put any gel on and cure it. The right way is to cut the nail, soak a cotton pad with pure acetone, place on the nail and wrap with foil. Soak 10 minutes, they should start peeling off, soak an additional 10 minutes if need be then it should be easy to remove. I'm a nail tech so I know all about this lol
@@taniacarvalho5451 I've never had acrylics or anything like that, just coats of a base, top coat and usually a French tip. I felt awful for my friend when she lost her natural nail she was even going "Ow...OW! Ok, maybe it needs to soak more?" And bam, there's blood on her toes and she's yelling in pain. That nail wasn't even a clean off take. At the ER, the had to numb her toe and get pieces of the acrylic and bits of the natural nail off. Sent her home with heavy duty antibiotics and she still developed a very, very nasty infection and the bed turned back with blue and black on the toe and part of the foot. All that crazy over a girls day to the salon to relax that ends in one screaming in pain and another screaming cause there's blood and we didn't know what was going on til it was cleaned up.
Thank you! Everyone is like oh they aren't that bad.... no if you have ever had a bad set you know. I took one look at her mangled cuticles with material cured to them and was shuddering. You can tell they are super thick down to the cuticle which is terrible for so many reasons. Yeah these are no good ladies.....
I'm actually amazed on how they serviced you . I was expecting them to be horrible..yes the place looks trashy. Other then that soaking off you're nails is the correct way to take you're nails off and if you have MMA it will definitely take an hour and somtimes more . I dont find them rude shes right down to busines and she is directly to the point . If you're nail tech rips youre nails off she is uneducated in the matter . I actually think they did a good job. price was fair I charge 15.00 for out side removal 35.00 for regular full set 10.00 for shape 10.for that medium/long length and 15.00 for nails polish..... and I take 2 hours for a full set .
* rates the store 2 stars * “ I saw a spider” I’m gonna die. She didn’t say she was going to die but like okay she saw a spider she implied that it was a horrendous situation. Chill the salons will probs deal with the pest control soon. Point is shes a bit Lmao dramatic.. it’s just a spider is it gonna affect your nails bc no 😂😊
Rianne it’s not. It means the techs there either don’t care about her nail health or do shoddy sets that lift a ton by time she goes to get them replaced.
Correct. Soaking them is actually the proper/healthiest way to remove nails. Popping them off with an acrylic nail can rip off fibers of your natural nail, causing the natural nails underneath to become very thin and brittle over time
I'm a licensed nail tech. Never ever are we to pry the nails off with a nail tip. You can split your natural nail that way and cause infection or permanent damage. We are to cut the acrylic down, file off the top and soak off in acetone. If your nails are from mma monomer, they take a very long time to soak off. Ema monomer is quicker to soak off. Alot of these Vietnamese techs cut corners and do things the wrong way just to get people in and out. The more customers, the more money.
미나아이솔스타인 exactly, when she pulled them out of the liquid I knew it was MMA and then when she started filing she was bearing down with that drill which I also as a tech, that’s a big no for me! They definitely cutting corners in Thea
I remember I was like 13 when I got my first tips and when it was time to take them off, the lady pried them of with a nail tip. It was aggressive and it hurt a lot after, my nails were completely damaged afterwards. Thankyou for this comment!! I never knew that my nail tech lady was in the wrong.
acetone is the safest and most normal way to take off nails, most licensed places would use acetone as its more comfortable for the client and doesn's damage nails
Girl she used #19 that looks nothing like #20 😂 Idc who is saying you’re over reacting. I’ve gotten treated bad before as well and it’s the energy they give you. You as a customer are paying $50 and you expect good service. So everyone saying she’s overreacting, you would act the same if you experienced it
Omg the fact that I know what nail salon you are in! I went here a few weeks ago.. the woman who did your nails Did mine as well.. she is very rude! She had an attitude the entire time and handled my hands very rough.. then when she finished I paid her & she said “why didn’t you tip me” I just ignored her and walked out. You get a tip If you deserve one.. I live in Austin so I know exactly where this nail salon Is😂😂 I had no business going here🤣
I’m from Mexico and I’m hollering hearing this prices. Expensive nails from exclusive places will be like $40-$50 dlls. Everyday nails from your near by nail salon are like $15-$20 dlls. In terms of quality (for me, with my experience) is pretty good.
You literally go in there picking a fight. NEXT TIME you should just look up worst reviews places but DON’T read the reviews. After you leave the place compare your experience with the reviews.
I really don't think she was "picking a fight". Honestly, in order to find the "worst reviewed place" , you're gonna have to read some reviews and I don't think it'll make much of a difference if she read the reviews before or after. I'm sure her experience would still be bad.
💁🏻♀️She needs to get a real job🤦🏻♀️This video was just too petty . She looked pathetic looking for drama just so she can get paid for views. I was literally expecting something more like how u just described, but instead she decided to waste her time being petty 👎🏼. Real queens don’t that . #pathetic #basic girl #wasteofmytime #notsubscribing
I agree with you a new set does not cost $50 sis that shit usually cost me $30-35 and I've gone to the nail salon since I was a a little girl and they know my parents
I live in Willoughby which is a right next to Cleveland, and you will easily find prices anywhere from $35-100+ for nails. It depends on the place, the women who I see charge $40-60, the latter being for gel. For how amazing my nails turn out, the cost is worth it for a full set. That being said, I refuse to go over 20 for removal.
I am a nail tech! Most places do not do a fill with colored gel or powder because different brands different colors it will look crazy (unless you got it from that specific place) most nail techs can tell by just looking like she did if they have the color or not! Some nail techs pop your nails off and actually it’s pretty damaging! I let my clients soak for a LONG time but I do push the product off as the time goes on! Your nails were uneven and she was very very rude. Be careful using drills on your nails! You are supposed to throw away the drill bit every time because it cannot be cleaned! Please be aware of that! Funguses on the nail can easily be transmitted! :) hope that helps!
Rose Reyna an hour definitely is a long tome she should have been working to push product off too but it clearly shows she didn’t! Seems like the tech didn’t wanna be bothered!
Chipslovesyu yes it can really damage your nail bed! And when you get your nails soaked make sure they are ALWAYS putting on oil after your service is done that bring hydration back to your nails that the acetone is taking away while being soaked off!
In the UK that’s exactly how we soak off your nails but not an hour maybe 30 mins and help it along with a cuticle pusher but we never use an e file on natural nails as it’s so damaging. Popping off nails is one of the worst things you can do for your nails it’s causes so much trauma to the natural nails. Most nail bars won’t infill over another persons work purely because you don’t know what product they have on and it’s incredibly hard to match up existing colours that you don’t stock yourselves. Usually a standard full set of extensions weather gel or acrylic here without anything extra like gems, nail art etc is about £40-45 and an infill without any breaks is about £30, £35 with breaks. We also always charge you for removal but it’s a small fee like £5-8. Our nail techs will always try and infill a clients nails if there adamant they won’t pay for another full set but we do always state that we can’t guarantee our work if we do and if a client wants an infill with the same colour and not a colour change we would say we can try and match it up but it won’t be 100%. It’s just a case of doing what you can to keep the client happy but unfortunately some places give zero shits 😀
Me too! They last for 2 weeks and then I can switch it up sooner than salon nails. I give my natural nails a few days to recover in between. Less than $10 for the supplies. 💰💲
I’m a nail technician, the best way to remove your acrylics it’s by wrapping them on cotton and aluminum foil... that takes about 30 min... then remove the residues with a cuticle pusher or nail drill. Girl she just damaged your nails and skin by soaking your nails for an hour! 🤦🏻♀️
Christina B ok regardless of you trying to defend this lady nothing makes up or can you argue about her having a nasty attitude I don’t know why but most of these ladies in the nail industry do not have manners
Christina B I’m also a nail technician and soaking off dip powder nails should not take an hour. Soaking anything off should never take that long especially if you are dipping your fingers in acetone.
skye &callie Well it might not be cheap for her no it’s her opinion my opinion it’s cheap but it’s her opinion maybe she’s saying that for those nails she got that it was too much now if that is what she is trying to say then I TOTALLY agree but for what she was getting that was a little bit too much money
8:39 "this is the color zero(??)" idk if she meant 0.. 8:45 "20, this is not the color, this is the color gel(?)" idk how to structure that sentence.. 9:19 "75 is a pretty one" sorry these are kinda rough translation..
Too be honest me and my brother couldn’t get through the first scene it was a man that was kidnapped by a lunatic and he was chained to the floor in a bathroom that was disgusting and he broke his own leg trying to escape and that’s where we stopped watching 🤢
yasenia velasquez i saw all of the series or whatever is where a man kidnaps people and then tortures them and then the people that are kidnapped they have to escape but can’t bc they either have a timer and have to do it fast 💨 or something like that and then they die but bc they either kill themselves or they just die bc didn’t have enough time 🥶🥶sorry for my bad English I saw this movie like in 2016-17 and I have bad memories problems 🥵🥵
yasenia velasquez The SAW movies aren’t just about random people getting kidnapped by a “lunatic”. Everyone who gets kidnapped have done something bad in their life, like one girl was addicted to heroin (Her name is Amanda, she ends up surviving the reverse bear trap and later helps John with kidnapping and setting up.), then there’s a guy who killed a little boy because he was driving drunk, and the little boy’s dad was in there too because it was a test to see what he’d do to the guy who killed his son, and so on. John (Jigsaw) kidnapped them to test them and basically tried to make them “appreciate” their life after the things they’ve done, it wasn’t at random.
Yaaaaassssss she has the best makeup ever!!!! Eyshadow on point Highlight on point Eyebrows on fleek Lipstick. Poppin. Eye Glitter outline on point And whatever else is so cute *James charles has left the chat* *Antonio garza has left the chat* *Sephora has left the chat*
I'm a nail technician the acrylic nail should be shortened and thinned then soaked in acetone this stops damage to the nail plate. Popping off the nail in the way u have had previously is dangerous and goes against insurance and training
For anyone saying she over reacted, if you payed $50 for nails after waiting for half an hour, wouldn’t you want them to be exactly what you wanted? I sure would.
Wendy Alien I agree. But it’s a combination of things that led her to be over all displeased. And I don’t blame her. The shape is not consistent, the color is not the one she chose, & they couldn’t get it right even after she chose a different color. Along with the service itself. I mean if it was me, i definitely would not go back.
@Wendy Alien they were pretty bad. That's $30 nails ... not $50. Plus her nail shape should match. Not bad is worth $25.. $50 better get what you asked for.
@@arabmom6001 That's how not to make money. There's no possible way it's profitable with that rate. Consider product cost, time consumed, salon/technicians cut. Now, it's possible to make some (laughable) profit. If they use cheap, no brand products (not even taking about generic brands), rush through service and skip steps. Hire unlicensed tech....And do you think they care enough about you and your health safety for 10 bucks?
@@gabygarcia5730 You can't complain about waiting 30 mins when you are a walk-in. I don't even take walk-in clients. Price seems about average for this type of salon. 30~40$ for a new dip powder set plus 10$ for acrylic take off. Don't get me wrong, the shape is crooked, cuticles are not tight, no depth/dimension. But again, for cheap price like this, you gotta put some effort in to find someone you like.
Omg!!! I’m from Austin, and I used to go to that place, that’s by Cameron & Berkman. They’re over priced & harass you till this day, I still have a friend that goes there.
GIRL...that is not a little over priced that shizz is super over priced. Here in the state that I live in I pay $35 for a full set of acrylic forms including design and a gel over lay🤦 there is no way in hell I would ever pay $50
Vangie Hernandez I live in Nevada and nail techs here charge 50-70 for a full set (if you want them over the top it’s more on the 60-70 side) and they will last you 6 weeks. Fills are 35. You get what you pay for. So it’s interesting seeing what different states pay!
Vangie Hernandez i agree! so overpriced. where I am from (KY) full sets are $25 acrylic, $35 gel, and fill ins are $10-15! I could not imagine paying $50 for nails 🤯
Aida Rangel i live in las vegas and my nail place has full sets for $20-30 dollars and a fill for $15! my nail tech has never done me wrong and i love them. that’s crazy.
🇯🇲Cocoa In Japan 🇯🇵みにー OMG OMG I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! I watch you all the time thank you for your original and inspiring content. You make me want to move to Japan XX
They’re literally fine. And I can’t believe you didn’t tip at ALL. That’s a service. Entitled asf. Everyone who replied to this acting like they wouldn’t be mad asf if they were the person who did it and didn’t get tipped 😍😍
Yea it’s a service and she PAYED for service a tip is optional based on service, entitled are all these people assuming they should be tipped no matter what.
Girlllll 😂 I felt like you was complaining about ANYTHING 😂 When that lady was talking to you in the beginning she was NOT being rude. That’s the same hospitality I get where I live and it’s normal. I don’t see how you expect to get a fill on powder that was done by someone else 🙄 And it wasn’t even that bad 😂 wasn’t thick at all but
Your nails looked barely grown out and the guy said he couldn’t give you a fill. And then said a full set is $50 😭 I was getting so mad for you. Scam artists 🤬
Melanie Musico because she didn’t have on acrylics! You can only do fill in if you have on acrylics... she had on dip powder which you’re suppose to soak off and start over similar to gel polish
It's similar but a lot stronger when I first started nails I mixed up my gell wipe off and remover up and melted my nails that just took me 3hrs to do off😭
Yes acetone. You need a bowl of hot water and another smaller bowl with acetone. The one with acetone goes inside the bigger one with hot water and then you soak them in the acetone for about 45 minutes or so until the acrylic goes like gel or something and you just gently push it off your nail with a wooden cuticle pusher or something
Once I had mine removed and the guy took another nail and tried to pop off my nail and it tore through my natural nail. NEVER again. NEVER! So I started soaking my own off. I won’t allow anyone else to do it.
Yes its actually good to soak nails before removing them because sometimes just sometimes ur real nail could come off to and it might hurt its a safer way to soak them
As a nail tech (granted in the uk), I would not fill a set another tech did. You don’t know how that acrylic is going to react to the one you are already wearing. Removal wise, I am genuinely shocked that your normal tech “pops” them off! That can cause so much damage to your nail plate. Soak off is standard. I would charge you for removal, followed by a fresh set. I don’t think they are bulky, the apex placement is good, although the shaping could be better. Yes she came across as rude. You cannot complain about waiting in a salon like that, if you had booked a time then absolutely I would be p****ed. I don’t agree with demanding a tip either. But I do think as you are not a trained tech, you cannot judge fully. 3 hours for a removal and fresh set isn’t that bad. I take 1 hour 45 to do a full set without removal. But you are paying for quality not rushed hack jobs.
I’m a licensed cosmetologist (hair skin and nails) One hour?!? In ACETONE?! That’s ridiculous. So bad for your epidermis. Using cotton and tinfoil with acetone on your nails is waaayyy better than soaking all of your fingers in acetone. It’s also best to score the nails, or buff/file to get the acetone to really get in there to begin the removal process. Also, most states require that if nail techs use the drills, they must have a special license to use them. You can always ask to see the license to access it. Most nail shops use them illegally, or will lie and say it’s ok.
Waittt gotta have a license to use the drills?! Everywhere I’ve been they always use drills but that makes me sketched out that they most likely all probably don’t have the license
Iam sorry but as a cosmetologist my self i have never heard of such thing. Needing a specific license to use electric drills ??? It’s like saying that you need a specific license to use an LED or UV lamp.
I don’t think they were rude. You should never pop your nails. They are supposed to soak your nails off. Of course their supposed to multi task that’s how they make their money. I think you over reacted.
She overreacted for the likes, views, and subscribers. If she went to the "worst reviewed nail salon" and they were perfectly fine then she wouldn't get as much likes, views, and subs. Her nails looked fine but she just kept on complaining about how "bad" they were. She just does it for the views. My opinion please don't hate.
Faith Avila I’ve been getting acrylics and I used to pop my nails off so I didn’t have to wait. My nails used to be weak and brittle until I learned from an Asian nail tech that’s wrong and I need to soak off. Paying $20 no matter where you live for a fill is too cheap and just means the products they use are cheap. I’ve started to pay up to $80 for my nails and I’ve seen a huge difference in quality. Just because a place may look run down and not 5 star doesn’t mean they don’t give good service. We non Asians need to remember that the way other ppl may talk may come off offensive to us but just listen to the information.
Okay, that's not even what I'm saying, that everyone is freaking out over the opinion of MakeupbyPita, it's her own opinion and no will let her have one, it's so irritating everyone is entitled to their own opinion for crying out loud it's her video she can say what she wants, but everyone is trying to give their own input, leave it alone!! That whole comment about acrylics makes no sense.
Come on girl ! They didn’t do a bad job on your nails . The shape isn’t perfect but they look fine to me ! And the price is acceptable for soaking off and getting the new set !!
They did the right thing by soaking your nails in acetone. It shouldn't be soaked for 1 hour but half an hour is enough. If the other salon you go to just pops them off, you should stop going there. It seriously damages your nails a lot.
I'm a certified nail tech, yes it is ok to soak off with 100% pure acetone. Now I cut the artificial tip off, file as much as I can, then soak my clients. Now colored acrylic or even regular acrylic it does take a long time to soak off. Maybe 30min - 1 hr. I always let my clients know how long the wait will be. The thicker the nail is, the longer time you have to soak. Now you said other nail techs get a nail tip and pop your old acrylic off. This is not allowed, they are ripping some of your natural nail bed. This causes your nail bed to weaken. Theres always a different way to soak off your artificial nails. Which is where they get foil, cotton, and acetone but this drys out the acetone so its only reccomend for gel. Keep I'm mimd not ever nail shop charges the same, and every nail tech has there own way. Hope this helped you out sweetie 😊😊
Angela A. Omg...when I go to the nail salon and want to take off my acrylics...they ALWAYS use the nail tip and take off my acrylic nail..and it hurts so bad. :( I thought that was the right thing but guess not. Thank you for being so informative!!
Ladies it's easy to soak of your nails, sometimes they charge $10-$20 for a soak of plus the new set. Theres many videos on UA-cam where you can soak off your nails with no damage. Remember if there bathroom is dirty, that means they're dirty. Always see if there actually steralizing everything.
The nails aren't that bad honestly. They aren't thick they're not bulky and I think your overreacting to much. Edit: Oh god I did not expect this to get so many likes 0-0 But thanks anyways xD
*I'm a nail tech* : -If they don't have the same color as your powder than she was right, she does need to do a new set. people that are lazy in most nail salons want to shave off the top as much as possible and then put powder on top and get you out fast. and at that point they are doing a brand new set all over again for cheaper. (Not fair for us) - the thickness of your nails is actually a pretty decent consistency. any thinner and they can snap off easily. Yes, the shape was horrible , they were crooked , & different shapes. so I understand you on that. - as far as the pricing goes, it's not unreasonable. Some nail salons are more expensive than others because they have more expensive products. I personally charge more for my work because I do things that aren't ordinary and my products are expensive and high-quality. -the soak off: there are different products out there that take longer to soak off and that isn't the nail techs fault. However, while you're soaking they could push the product off or file off. But if they are obviously busy and arent able to get to you then they will let you soak off until they are able to be there. I don't know your case but that is what we do. Overall There are things that you said that were reasonable and there were other things that you said that were unreasonable.
I’m a nail tech. I was thinking the same. The powder dip nails is not supposed to be filled in. High risk of catching a fungus. Acrylic nails, you can refill. Powder and acrylic is different. The shape wasn’t good but the consistency for the powder was right. Powder is not as durable as acrylic, so you can not go to thin. But powder is better for your nails. Price was high cause she probably charged you to take off your old nails.
I got pink acrylic and i went somewhere else they had it its not a big deal they can use anothet color she didnt get a french tip so it wouldnt no even show
As to everyone who’s saying she’s over dramatic, WHEN YOURE PAYING FOR YOUR NAILS, YOU CAN BE PICKY! It is your money, your time. Also even if her nails weren’t bad, they were still rude and that can ruin a whole experience for someone completely. If you have good customer service, I’m sure she wouldn’t have minded paying the money. Everyone has a way that they want their nails done and I’m the same way, if they’re different shapes, I will be upset because I payed money for them and when they’re rushed it is upsetting!
That's actually happened to me before!! I got horrible service at a Chinese restaurant in San Antonio, the waitress came running up to the car banging on the windows and screaming for a tip....I cannot!!!
They look exactly the same before and after Edit, most likes I've ever got Also those look the same as real one in fact they are real the are not even thick, oh an of course you gave her a tip those are fantastic
All these people bragging about how cheap they pay for their nails, but little do they know they all go to a chop shop to get their nails done😂 You getting charged $50 total is totally normal and not a rip off at all. She had to soak off your nails which is usually a good $20. Do you know the skill a nail tech needs to be able to even use an E-File/Dremel? After that, you had $30 left. Fullsets cost around $25, $5 for shape, and you even got gel polish/shellac which should’ve been an additional $10 or $15 so i dont think she ripped you off at all. With that being said, if you pay max of $45 at your normal salon like you said, youre still going to a chopshop. They use MMA acrylic which is banned from the FDA. Those rhinestones they put on you arent even real, because if they we’re swarovski crystals it would’ve costed more. You should really do your research on the products they use on you. MMA acrylic vs. EMA acrylic. Look it up
I am a nail tech, and while an hour soaking is extremely excessive, soaking the nail off is the proper way to remove acrylic. At the other place where you go and they use another tip to pop the acrylic off- that is EXTREMELY DAMAGING, and while you wont notice when they reapply the nails, if you just left them bare, or with gel polish, you would notice how weak they are. Prying the product off creates damage, weakness, and trauma to the nail. It is proper procedure to cut the nail down, file down to a thin layer, and then soak for 20 minutes and use a cuticle pusher to "push" the product that has now melted in to goop, off the nail. Great video! im subscribing!
Nail Tech here..... Your current nail salon is also doing a lot of wrong things, the proper way to remove nails is to soak them off. The price in my city for a gel manicure starts at 45 dollars a full set like yours goes for 65 dollars and up so those prices are cheap! You get what you pay for!
The cost of living is different from one area to another. You can’t compare prices from her area to another. When we go to Ocean City, MD (tourist area) the prices are way higher even at places like McDonald’s compared to where I live. You can really only compare prices in that area.
I wish someone would harass me for a tip! You DEFINITELY won’t get one after that!! Do these ladies not have backbones? No one is forcing me to do ANYTHING.
Didn't happen at a salon, but my friends and I were leaving a restaurant one day and the waiter followed us out to my car and actually stopped us from leaving because we didn't give him a big enough tip
I feel like it’s just miscommunication on both parts and due to MAJOR language barriers. I’ve been a nail tech for over 15 years, and there have been times ppl will come in saying they have powder on their nails, but what they really meant is Dip powder not powder acrylic. Dip powder can’t really be filled so a new set must be put on while acrylic is the one that can be filled. Needless to say, miscommunication or not you’re in no way at fault. I’ve worked at some shady salons where they try to make you do a new set just to get money out of you and it’s just wrong.
My salon don't do dip fill.. And there are people who come in are not educated on product and will argue that they are right when in fact they are wrong not all salons have the same products same colors and sometimes it's easier to do a new set. I've had people ask for a manicure and as I'm about to put polish on me they asked me where the fake nail is then I have to explain got a manicure is not the same as a full set and sometimes we will charge for the manicure as well as the full set
I think you might want to look into continuing education classes. Dip powder is acrylic powder. This new wave of dip powder trend has been around before, it’s just being marketed with branding now. 15 years under your belt means nothing if you don’t know the science behind your nail technology license.
I’m a nail tech and no it should not take an hour , it takes 15 minutes and you need to wrap each finger in acetone and foil not let it just soak in a bowl and then we gently scrape off the gooeyness without pressure. And you never ever pop off a nail that is so damaging
Daniella Xo as a nail Artest everyone has a different technique on how to remove and do nails I get all my clients nails done fast by soaking there nails in a bowl for 15 mins
Maddisson Malott of course everyone has a way they’re comfortable and their own techniques, but she’s right that no one should ever pop your nails off at a nail salon because it’s super bad for your natural nail.
wow in Vietnam you just need to pay $1 to fill in with OPI polish , for Gel polish is $2 . For a full set nail with gem , stone , etc , ... the maximum is $10. We never ask for tips or tax 😂
Juicy Daddy my sister work in a nail polish salon , and most of the customer are foreigners and they always satisfied with the results. Equipment for those things mostly import from china and its always cheap. It’s just the price in other countries too expensive to compare.
Lisa 01 Asian ladies in nail salons are the most aggressive creatures when it comes to tips. Idk why, but they all seem to be this way. Not once have I gone to a salon without the lady looking me in the eye and saying “tip?” Like seriously?? You don’t not ask for a tip, you do not demand a tip. You earn it. It’s such an uncomfortable situation and you feel absolutely obligated to do so. Like if you worked at a restaurant and you did that do you think those customers would come back?
karlee weeg i totally understand your point but it’s not right to call them “aggressive creatures” they’re just of a different culture from you meaning they have different norms and not everything is going to translate well being that their english is probably limited as well.
Nicole Flowers that wasn’t really my point of calling them creatures. It wasn’t to be insulting. It was supposed to be taken lightly. Not seriously. When someone says, “what a gorgeous creature.” No one gets offended. It’s not offensive, you just took it that way
Am I the only person who thinks the original place you go to is worse than this place? You don’t “pop off” acrylics the correct way to remove fake nails is to either file or soak off. I think you went in to that salon with your mind and opinion already made up. These nails didn’t even look bad in the end, $50 is the equivalent of a cheap set where I come from in the U.K. 3 hours, why wouldn’t you want someone to spend extra time on you? Personally if my service was rushed and I was in and out in an hour I’d be very disappointed! My opinion you just avoid cheap Asian nail bars all together! Nail drills on the natural nail is a big no no, have you researched what is in the products to make services cheaper? This is why I never go to a nail salon and if I do I make sure it’s a beauty business with actual licenses and awards. I’ve done my own for years with products from a trusted business, that way I get my money’s worth and they’re always the way I want them, without someone hacking into my sensitive nail bed.

Makeupbypita great video!! ❤️
Hey girl great video...also what lipstick are u wearing?? I loveeeee itt!
They don’t look that bad but the people don’t seem that nice and the place looks unwelcoming 🙁
Girl! You absolutely gave her a tip and didn't even know it. That price included the tip, I refuse to believe thats the standard price.
Latasha latasha ikr! I pay 35 for a full set dude 😮

I pay 20 for a full set of acrylics any design gooood qualityyy
I only pay $25 🤷🏽♀️
They should NEVER NEVER EVER pop you’re nail off ! That will damage your nail so fast . The correct way is either filing the nail down carefully or soaking them off .
You are nail?
Are you the nail people
True
H V E why not? I’ve had it done before and it didn’t damage anything??
@@lizzyfall7045 its unnecessary trauma to the nails, acrylics esp if they are done over glued on tips are already bad enough for your nails.

Soaking your nails is best for your nails. Popping them off with a nail extension(tips) is actually frowned upon since it peals up your natural nails and damages it.
Krystal's Couture soaking them with what?water? It won’t work
Angel G pure acetone
Acetone love
Yeah that’s what I thought
Yes 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Girl, SHE was RIGHT to soak off the acrylic. That’s the proper way to remove acrylic and most gels. They’re not supposed to pop it off or file it all off because it can be risky as it can over-file your natural nails and weaken them. Gels, acrylic etc don’t damage the nails it’s when you rip the enhancements off or over-file that weakens them. Acetone has been proven not to damage nails either it can dry them out a bit but that’s about it
The new nails are neither thick or bulky.
Ex. In my book I was taught to apply barrier cream and then just soak them as is like how I mentioned but
Personally, I cut them, file them a bit and then soak them and they come off in under 20 min but that’s not how I was taught so it depends on where you are and what book is used in the schools curriculum or if your salon follows that or not.
I don't understand why it's so expensive if the place looks so cheap 🤣
It's likely a rented out place. They probably didn't want to invest in it or because of a contract agreement.

Thank you thank you so much for telling the truth the Vitamins do shitty ass work and want top notch Dollar for it, and I knew they were cutting steps that is why they produce such shitty work thank you
I'm also a nail tech and I agree. Prices are based on products etc so not everyone is going to be cheap.
Tell themmmm
Mommy&MeTV I completely agree, But the lady was kind of rude to her about it & didn’t even bother explaining why or give her other options. And you’re right she was being a bit dramatic but she wasn’t aware that chop shops like those typically don’t have colored acrylic. I feel like she did the most just for this video. I would of never gotten a full new set just for them to come out super shitty like hers did😂😂 plus she could of gotten an infection!! How scary
They soak mine off, but not for an hour. Years ago someone popped mine off like that, it hurt so bad even after the fact
I don’t work over someone else’s “work”. I will soak off. How do you guarantee your work if you just do a fill or rebalance on a previous set? I don’t guarantee so a soak off is a must.
A full set of a solid color acrylic is $35 in az and a fill is $10 and my salon is hells good😭😭

I’m a nail tech and the proper way to remove acrylic nails is by soaking off.... if you pop them off you are taking parts of your nail with it causing your nails to become weak and brittle....
Right ...
Exactly
shawol baby They did that to me once with popping my nails off and hurt me so bad. Never again have I gone to remove my nails at a salon since!
off topic but hey a fellow shawol! 👀💞
I was going to comment that
You're actually meant to soak them off. Your normal salon is risking the health of your real nails by pulling them off...
It's illegal in some states to do that. My friend permently lost a toenail due to that, required to go the ER after that. It was pretty bad...
All that crazy over a girls day to the salon to relax that ends in one screaming in pain and another screaming cause there's blood and we didn't know what was going on til it was cleaned up.
modelingbritt omg!!! Girl that's terrible!! Your poor friend. The nails should have been soaked longer

I'm a Cosmetologist and in Texas it does not take an hour to take off Acrylic Nails or Gel. I have bee in the business for about 20 years.
@@rosereyna8059 How do you remove them?
I buy my nails at CVS and glue them on at home NO ONE SEES THE DIFFERENCE thank you kiss nails only $7.99 at your local cvs
Amen me tooo😍
How long do they last ?
Me too! They last for 2 weeks and then I can switch it up sooner than salon nails. I give my natural nails a few days to recover in between. Less than $10 for the supplies. 💰💲
How do you remove them ?
Yesssss meeee tooo

I’m scared for you 😳that bathroom looked like something out of the SAW Movie.
Too be honest me and my brother couldn’t get through the first scene it was a man that was kidnapped by a lunatic and he was chained to the floor in a bathroom that was disgusting and he broke his own leg trying to escape and that’s where we stopped watching 🤢
yasenia velasquez i saw all of the series or whatever is where a man kidnaps people and then tortures them and then the people that are kidnapped they have to escape but can’t bc they either have a timer and have to do it fast 💨 or something like that and then they die but bc they either kill themselves or they just die bc didn’t have enough time 🥶🥶sorry for my bad
English I saw this movie like in 2016-17 and I have bad memories problems 🥵🥵
Girl I would of showered and scrubbed myself until my skin turned red after using that bathroom. Heck I think I would of preferred going outside, lol.
It’s weird I’m from the uk but I live In Africa and lots of bathrooms are like this you just have to go through it!!!!
yasenia velasquez The SAW movies aren’t just about random people getting kidnapped by a “lunatic”.
The beauty store honestly wasn’t that bad... but this... eek
FlashBack Mary I’m living for your name

I'm a nail technician the acrylic nail should be shortened and thinned then soaked in acetone this stops damage to the nail plate. Popping off the nail in the way u have had previously is dangerous and goes against insurance and training
Right!
Wendy Alien it took them 3 hours to do her nails... they should be absolutely gorgeous with that much time
@Wendy Alien they were pretty bad.

Soaking the nails to remove them is the correct way. Popping them off with another nail is not. It damages your nail
Cynthia Gomez & popping it off can cause nerve damage.
ttfr Yeah. Acetone. But an hour is overkill.
ttfr yes they do, they use pure acetone
As a nail tech, soaking is the best. Removing them with another nail tip is WRONG. It damages your natural nail and rips layers along with it.
Thank you for informing me girl❤️ now i know
Also as a nail tech I agree with Emily!
I was like oooo omg that long it's going to mess her nails up bad smh
Omg my nail lady would ALWAYS do that 😪
Once I had mine removed and the guy took another nail and tried to pop off my nail and it tore through my natural nail. NEVER again. NEVER! So I started soaking my own off. I won’t allow anyone else to do it.
Yes its actually good to soak nails before removing them because sometimes just sometimes ur real nail could come off to and it might hurt its a safer way to soak them
It’s not just sometimes it’s literally every time as from experience lol 😂
@@jojojohnson2000 haha
Gemma Tyas 👏🏽

Samee
But they are just bumpy and thick and uneven

They were like 50+ dollars 💵
I’m a licensed cosmetologist (hair skin and nails)
One hour?!? In ACETONE?! That’s ridiculous. So bad for your epidermis. Using cotton and tinfoil with acetone on your nails is waaayyy better than soaking all of your fingers in acetone. It’s also best to score the nails, or buff/file to get the acetone to really get in there to begin the removal process.
Also, most states require that if nail techs use the drills, they must have a special license to use them. You can always ask to see the license to access it. Most nail shops use them illegally, or will lie and say it’s ok.
Emma I heard you can just soak for 10 minutes 🤷🏾♀️
Waittt gotta have a license to use the drills?! Everywhere I’ve been they always use drills but that makes me sketched out that they most likely all probably don’t have the license
Iam sorry but as a cosmetologist my self i have never heard of such thing. Needing a specific license to use electric drills ??? It’s like saying that you need a specific license to use an LED or UV lamp.
You can buy a nail drill as a private person. You don't need a license for them. Would love a link to the legislation that says otherwise.
Sugar Plum There’s a huge difference between using something privately on yourself and using something commercially on other people.

I guess a five dollar difference is ripping someone off now. okay.
I don’t think they were rude. You should never pop your nails. They are supposed to soak your nails off. Of course their supposed to multi task that’s how they make their money. I think you over reacted.
It's her own opinion, don't say she overreacted because if that happened to you, you would be upset!!
Faith Avila you probably do the same thing when you get serviced please. Yes she can have an opinion we all do. She’s just overreacting

terrigaldavid exactly
Ikr lmao
Come on girl ! They didn’t do a bad job on your nails . The shape isn’t perfect but they look fine to me ! And the price is acceptable for soaking off and getting the new set !!
They did the right thing by soaking your nails in acetone. It shouldn't be soaked for 1 hour but half an hour is enough. If the other salon you go to just pops them off, you should stop going there. It seriously damages your nails a lot.
Diya NailartLoom
Totally agree. Soak for 30 min and that should do the work. Pop them off damages your nails.
Yeaa I agree.. kinda.. of you soak in acetone it could damage your fingers
Maria G it’s better than popping off the acrylics
Yeah exactly what I thought never pop them off like wtf lol
Completely agree. Soaking is definitely the better option. I’ve had a salon “pop my nails off” with another nail and it hurt SO bad haha
Yikes I once went to a different place and they tried drilling the acrylic off. I had to leave after the third finger
Dang they popped it off with acrylic today and I almost cried cuz I tried getting my nails fixed after they messed it up and it bled
I thought too popping off ur nail was not the right way.
Hope you don’t get an infection 🙀🙀🙀
The nails aren’t even bad I just think she is being dramatic
For real they looked good to me not even thick at all
Your right girl
The nails aren't that bad honestly. They aren't thick they're not bulky and I think your overreacting to much.

TaigaisakaYT679 yea I agree
And you can’t layer a color on top of another that’ll look weird
all the tips were different. like completely different shapes. not that bad my ass
It’s not like the before was any better. 🙄
IKR Like they are okay 🤨 like STOP overreacting
*I'm a nail tech* :
-If they don't have the same color as your powder than she was right, she does need to do a new set. people that are lazy in most nail salons want to shave off the top as much as possible and then put powder on top and get you out fast. and at that point they are doing a brand new set all over again for cheaper. (Not fair for us)
- the thickness of your nails is actually a pretty decent consistency. any thinner and they can snap off easily.
Francesdanae i’ve never gone to a nail salon where a fill in is $35. mine range from 14-18 like. damn
Madison Burton if it’s a regular polish it’s usually that price but if it’s gel I pay 30
Nunna Faith no like. i pray that for a full set with gel. not a fill in. the fill ins for gel where i go are like 18 dollars
Francesdanae I live in nyc and only pay $33 for a full set and everything is expensive here so $50 or more seems outrageous to me 🤷🏻♀️
Yooo she straight up scammed you. You don’t need the same colour for a fill cause usually people get different colours anyways..whaaaat.
Shane Albert if the acrylic is colored, yes it does need to match lol
Rebecca Ludwig facts
Well she could’ve got another color, like plain white, then painted over
Rebecca Ludwig k obviously people get colours over the coloured/non coloured acrylic powder

If 284 of y’all think those after nails are acceptable it’s no wonder why so many salons are terrible.
Look it up
A soak off where I’m from is $10 maximum
@@biancablack2576 A soak off for GEL POLISH where I'm from is 30 dollars minimum. There's no use in comparing prices in the comments, only quality.
Atykifobia well then you get ripped off. And yes there is.
$5.00 a shape??? Where do you go?
Okay! $50 was cheap! Seems uneducated to the beauty industry.
A fill in Cuba is $1 and $4 for a full set of acrylics. That’s the average price throughout the whole country

I’ve worked at some shady salons where they try to make you do a new set just to get money out of you and it’s just wrong.
smusagi07 I get my dip powder refilled all the time. Even different colors. And I use 3 different nail salons they all do refill on dip powder
You can do a fill with dip
My salon don't do dip fill.. And there are people who come in are not educated on product and will argue that they are right when in fact they are wrong not all salons have the same products same colors and sometimes it's easier to do a new set. I've had people ask for a manicure and as I'm about to put polish on me they asked me where the fake nail is then I have to explain got a manicure is not the same as a full set and sometimes we will charge for the manicure as well as the full set
U can duh!
Grace Cottell where talking about soaking them not piping them off and yes there bad for ur nails if u pop em off like that
Maddisson Malott ya lots of places let the fingers soak but I find that it drys out the fingers and nails too much doing it that way
Daniella Xo it didn’t really the tinfoil way make ur finger dry to so lol
wow in Vietnam you just need to pay $1 to fill in with OPI polish , for Gel polish is $2 . For a full set nail with gem , stone , etc , ... the maximum is $10. We never ask for tips or tax 😂
trang nguu You shouldn’t ask for then that’s up to the customer
Nail polish in Vietnam are not that great plus the equipment is pretty low quality.
Juicy Daddy my sister work in a nail polish salon , and most of the customer are foreigners and they always satisfied with the results. Equipment for those things mostly import from china and its always cheap. It’s just the price in other countries too expensive to compare.
MaDaBoUtMEME yeah i know just saying because in the video she said the worker ask for their tips so ...
Juicy Daddy actually they are great quality by are too poor to get the super expensive nail supply's
she was like I’m sure all the nail technicians can voucher for me. lmao all the nail technicians against her😂
How did she react when you didn't give her a tip?
Super mad lol she didn't asked me for a tip but I saw her face change

It’s not offensive, you just took it that way
The nails aren’t that bad
Hi Life I hope ur kidding me girl
Your kidding right?
For that price and that service? I know you trolling 😂
The nails are flat with the skin there is no volume
Hi Life at least way better then my nails...
I agree with you, her mind was set that she wasn’t gonna like it cuz of the reviews 🤦🏽♀️
@@ivettepablo9990 girl, her ring finger on her original ser was crooked asf. It turned in and everything

Whoa! The evening ‘club’ eyeshadow is a bit dramatic for day wear. It’s quite attractive, though just a bit too much for daytime.
