Hey Looks like fun! Some friendly tips and things I would avoid. I Always use a mask, safety glasses, polyester clothes won’t bleach I prefer long sleeve with a hood. -no 3 points of contact on ladder -rinser is rinsing the opposite side of the bush.. he should rinse the same direct that the treatment is going to allow more effective rinsing -The mix is much to high try half that amount of bleach and a third that amount of soap for that condition. -dont over lap so much. - she is using a shooter tip right next to the skylight which will bounce treatment up onto the seals and either dry out the seals or ricochet roof treatment into the home..instead spray treatment above the skylight and let the treatment run around the skylight -you don’t need to spray all the way to the gutter, gravity will help pull the mix down, this helps to conserve treatment but also helps not have run off into the lawn from an in noticed downspout, use gutter cane If needed to dilute. -use a fan tip that close to the roof Better yet spray it from the ground and have minimal time on the ladder - spray from the top all the way across, this allow for you to give it time to run down the roof. - put the ladder on the corner of the work zone as much as possible , that way the treatment is always spraying inward toward the roof, much easier to consolidate that way.. otherwise it gets sloppy over spraying off the roof if you put the ladder in the middle. -have someone check the other side of the house for overspray and rinse - and for anyone wondering yes they are doing the correct process, just some small tweaks needed to be done. There’s lots more tricks aswell there is definitely an art to it, enjoy.
Great job. One recommendation, I think if you use a nozzle to fan out the spray, it will help to cover a larger area and help with excess runoff of the chemicals. That's just my opinion and I hope that helps others out.
How many machines do you have on your setup? Or did you have multiple rigs? Wanting to get into roof washing, have stayed away because I don’t have a dedicated soft wash hose, pressure hose where I can have someone watering while I’m applying chem. Didn’t know if you needed multiple machines or what.
try switching to the fan tips when you get about halfway down the roof. Those shingles aren't designed to be blasted at that angel it could lift them up, also if youre on a solid 4% you dont need to saturate the roof as much i give it a blanket coat to wake the gloeocapsa magma up first and then come back with another heavy blanket. Make a run down at the gutter first it will help spread out what comes rolling down the roof so you don't streak the gutters when they have leaf guards as well. --things I've learned over 4 years of roof washing
Great question! When cleaning an asphalt shingle roof there is debate on whether to rinse vs not rinse after chemical is applied. Because we wanted to use this for before and after pics, we did rinse this one when finished.
Right! IT’s video proof of bad business practices. If you are being unsafe don’t show it in videos. I’ve done unsafe…I hung from my first building in a stage at 9 year old & Bolsun chaired at 12. Pretty sure that was unsafe but there is no video proof.
Wow, you waste a lot of material on your roof washes. She seems to go over the same spot multiple times and that is not going to clean the roof any faster or more efficiently.
@@superiorexteriors but did you learn anything? It wasn’t meant to just be feedback. I do over a quarter of $1 million in exterior cleaning a year and so I was just trying to pass on some knowledge that will help you with your material costs
@@randyhurtado1745Hey Randy, got an extremely old house with extremely old shingles. They are not chipped, broken in half, missing or anything like that, just really old and faded. Whats the cheapest way i can DIY and bring them back to life, make them look newer is what im trying to say ??
If the chemicals are that hazardous why do you use them and why do you have to constantly keep rinsing the bushes makes no sense. Why don’t you use something that’s safe for the environment and not hazardous can’t be good for customers roof.
The chemicals are used to clean the roof. They kill organic growth which is what is on the roof. Plants are organic so it kills all plants. As long as you soak all vegetation and minimize overspray, everything is fine.
No one uses 6% surfactant 😅 you might hit two percent surfactant maybe when the time calls for otherwise you're using way too much soap my man wasting money and time

Most helpful comment I think I’ve ever read…
you should upload a video on your proccess

What are you using to spray the top? My hand sprayer won't reach up there.

6 and 6 SH and soap? Way overkill but not my money
Good evening if you had a 25 gallon tank, he was going to soft wash a asphalt shingle roof how much S&H would you put in the 25 gallon tank? Thanks
Thanks for all the information on how to soft wash a roof, or even saying what softwashing is...
What surfactant do you use?
Superior Exteriors White Lemon Lightning Surfactant
@superiorexteriors thanks bro
Do you rinse after?
What PSI and GPM? Looks awesome
Keep up the good work! Next time you should try our 18-ft extension wand to clean safely from the ground 😎
Thanks for the tip!
wat the he’ll is george doing 🤣🤣
Looks like he is watering the house 🤣
I was thinking the same shit 😂
Seriously
What system do you use?
Slaves
Gutters you can usually re direct down spouts and water at the end
What products do u use for your surfactant
We use and sell our own surfactant - Superior Exteriors White Lemon Lightning
How can I contact you to soft wash the roof of my house?
Where are you located?

Also what did you charge per sq ft on that house?
Do you rinse the roof, ive heard it doesn't need a rinse
You don't. Rarely someone will ask to rinse also. But once again, rarely
What do you do when you run into windows like that ? Do you rinse them immediately? To avoid any etching?
They need to be rinsed with DI water before they dry. Most guys aren’t doing this and the windows get very faint mineral stains.
What is gutter cane?
Like how you show the water on plants ,alot never tell this!!😢
Where are you located?
Do you rinse the roof or leave the bleach on the roof?
Rinsing after washing will protect the surrounding vegetation better.
Maybe 8% , looking good man.
That girl rocks!👏😎
Mind if i ask how many gpm your roof wash pump is?
We run with Remco and Everflo 12 volt softwash pumps.
could you just put a tarp over any vegetation?
You can add a tarp as a shield. Always make sure you pre and post water vegetation.
What’s your take on rinsing or not rinsing a roof after applying sh

@@superiorexteriors Wish you had shown the rinsing.
How much do you charge for something like that ?
4 person crew, chemicals, 3 hours of time... $10,000?
@@starhawke380as much as a brand new roof?
After applying SH , do you rinse ?
Yes you can!
Thank you 🫡
💪💪
👍 Great job!!
Thank you! 👍
OSHA probably wouldn’t agree
Where can i pick up the mix?
Try your local pressure wash supply store.
@@superiorexteriors there are none. Gotcha
Nice mask!
Cover the plants! 🌱
Why not just cover the bushes with tarp to save lots of water?🤨
Poor ladder safety. Ladders are designed to brace against knees with the top rung. If she loses her balance, she has no recourse.
Her head will stop the fall calm down sissy
Lol! My thoughts exactly brother!
OSHA requires 3 points of contact while on a ladder.

Who cares, it’s a A frame stop being a baby
Fellas...it's not rocket science stuff here! We're spraying 5-6% sh with some soap and watering some greenery down. They did a great job!
OSHA isn't there,
so it never happened.
Nobody saw nothin.
😆 🤣 😂
😂 No PPE , nobody footing ladder. Do your insurance know who you work .
That’s a good looking chemical stain shirt lol I can only imagine what it does to peoples plants when you spray their house
That is why they are constantly rinsing the vegetation. Otherwise, yes. Its not great for the organic matter.
Research simix multi surface cleaner
"Chemical stain", well yes, it's soap and bleach. It discolors clothes.
six is way too strong for that roof my friend
45 minute dwell time.. it’ll dry lol
2 person job max. Why pay so many people
