Two big names in alternative music are joining forces to pay tribute to Jack Kerouac, the godfather of alternative fiction. Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and Jay Farrar of Son Volt join us to talk about and perform songs from their soundtrack for the new documentary, One Fast Move or Im Gone: Kerouacs Big Sur looking at Kerouac's life post-On the Road.

"I'm just a sick clown and so is everybody else". I really like this line that Kerouac wrote here and the way that Jay Farrar delivers it. Just seen Jay day the Woody 100 night at Celtic Connections and it is sure that he has great delivery of other peoples songs/lyrics. You only have to listen to Uncle Tupelos version of Moonshiner to hear this.
I hope to catch these guys in Seattle next month. God, I love Farrar's work.
I just discovered this album, and it's very much changed my perceptions of certain things.
Really interesting pairing
Simple is so often the best
Farrar, fuckin genious poet!
That's Kerouac's verse.
