To deal with the loose hairs, I think you can create wefts of wig hairs using tacky glue on parchment paper or similar that then you apply on the sculpture.
This mask is magnificent and your use of hot glue is genius!!!! I think the beard fur looks good but, I think the fur on his head would look better in a long pile craft fur. I know there are tutorials on how to dye it as well as tutorials on how to make fake fur look real. You just have to find the right one to suit your needs. I know this guy is meant to be a mask but, I can't help but wonder what it would look like with taxidermy eyes. He's just that gorgeous! I swear you improve with every mask. Stunning!
Well, I went APE over your Orangutang mask. It is amazing the detail that you put into your work. When you had the brown paper on and it was dry...............he just looked so peaceful. Thanks for the video. I am sure that both the video and the mask took a lot of time. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Any time you need a good large picture of something, just do a Bing search under images. On the right hand side of the page will be the filter button (next to a funnel looking thing). Click on the filter button. Then just choose the size of your image. I enter under image size "at least" 2500 x 2500px and usually get good results. Some images aren't good when you enlarge, but most seem to be. You'll also get ALL results from that size and up, some being 5000 x 5000. Hope that helps you or someone else reading comments. If you already know, please accept my apologies.

Thanks, Alan. The photos I took make him look more menacing than he really does in real life. I think it's the angle, or something.

Ps….the hot glue texture is fantastic! Well worth your diligent time!
😊
I love this guy! Could you use just plain old PVA glue to add the paper strips or is the paste you used a personal or project-purposed choice?
Thanks! And yes, you can use glue - lots of people prefer it, and it works just fine. :)
Had to laugh as you were applying the hot glue as your glue gun says "Gorilla Glue" !!!??? Lol ! Should get one that says 'Orangutan Glue' ! Lol 😁
Show putting the paper mache actually on,not do it off camera, please, trying to learn
