I personally didn't like the change and when it comes to mental stability there are many hurtful comments than dislikes. One of the main step for being a content creator is to accept criticism understand it or disregard it. Even if someone is getting disliked they still are getting viewer engagement on their channel.

For getting a review of the video, just use the ratio between likes to views/subscriber count along with actual view count. The view count would be higher for a useful video because people would actually come back to view the video multiple times. Also, if the video is a 1 time watch kind of video rather than a tutorial, then the like to views ratio will be higher than other similar videos.

Honestly my biggest gripe with the lack of a visible dislike counter is that it makes trying to find quality content very difficult. For example, I'm trying to find a guide for a game - I find a relevant video with 2.5k views. It has 56 likes. Previously, I would expect a higher dislike to like ratio, which would indicate the general quality of content in the video. This is no longer an option, now I need to find out for myself by either watching the video or looking through the comments to figure out if it's even worth watching - after which I would have wasted my time regardless
