Do you have any advice on how to explore different job opportunities as a new grad?
Most new-grad opportunities are going to be in-patient. I did a year and a half of floor nursing before I worked outpatient. Most places will want you to get a foundational year in a hospital first. You can always check community health centers for RN positions as well as surgery centers, Cath labs (for a holding area position), etc. I completed a 1 year nurse residency program - you may want to look into those, most are not 2 years long.

It depends on what you want to do. Medical doctors make medical diagnosis and come up with treatment plans. Nurses can also do that as a nurse practitioner. Being a doctor opens other doors like becoming a surgeon, radiologist, pathologist - etc., that you can only do if you go to medical school. I wanted the door with more options!
