love that place. i remember going there when that exhibit first opened in the early 2000. back then it was known as the Seattle EMP ( experience music project)
That’s cool exhibit. I bought nevermind when it came out. I wonder if Kurt knew about Jeff Buckley grace as it was recorded in 93’. My uncle Gary Lucas played guitar on it. Kurt died in 94’ a few months before grace was released. I’m sure he woulda been a major fan if he was around to hear it.
That’s awesome man! I wish I would’ve dove deeper into this stuff when I was living up in the Pacific Northwest. Maybe it was too soon for me. I was living up the from late 94 - 98 ........Kurt’s death made me re-think my “druggie” lifestyle. Anyway THANK YOU
Whats happened to the pickguard of the univox? Its like when kurt smashed that guitar the pickguard and the pickups dissapeared i wonder where are that parts.
7:37 That Smashed Mid 1970s Univox Hi-Flier Phase 3 Natural (which in June '89 Kurt added some Red Spray Paint to try and make it look "Sunburst") was Smashed 45-Minutes away from my House at Maxwell's, Hoboken, NJ on July 13, 1989.... Nirvana also would of had to drive down the Highway pass my house to get to Hoboken NJ on the 13th of July since they played at J.C. Dobbs in Philadelphia, PA the day before on July 12, 1989.
325 5th Avenue N Seattle, WA 98109 I remember they did a tour once where they went to different cities displaying different things but that must have just a one off thing. They’re in Seattle. Not going anywhere anytime soon. Someday I be able to fly in and visit. Maybe make it a week long thing to try and visit other spots like the Aberdeen bridge and childhood home!
Wait. The cigar tube on his 69 LPB Comp Mustang is black??? It wasn’t black in the video right? I never noticed that till now. I must visit this place someday soon!!!
I like seeing the lyrics written out. It’s a little strange how he was living one minute and the next minute everything he touched ends up in a Museum. A bit bizarre! But I’m glad it was saved. However, I wish Kurt was saved! I’d trade all this stuff for him living instead! But it’s over now.
Great footage, but it would really be a lot more enjoyable without the distracting information that's either known or can be read at a later time. It's really hard to process both what's being said and really appreciate each item without turning the sound down. No offense.
@@randik8621 Agreed - it's awesome for people outside the US to be able to see some of this exhibit (thanks Daniel), but I would have found a (sparse) commentary of what we're actually looking at more useful. It was a lot to concentrate on.
Next time you make a video, try not to cut off the filming mid way into the damn thing, I was interested til you cut off before it was officially over!
Kirk sang about not having a gun yet killed himself with one. Maybe if he wasn't doing heroin all day everyday might be around today. Glad to hear about the sponge being down on her luck.
Thank you for these videos.
The quality of this video allows me too look past the four ads I saw throughout it.
