Now, don’t be shy, drop the unseen footage of Alice In Chains Unplugged ..
Fact
Pls
Wasn't layne knee deep in a heroin buzz on that one?
@@ipetloudog he sure was. Hell of a performance though
I’d love that
There’s nothing quite like seeing new unreleased footage of Nirvana, the story was so short and the footage so limited, these are gems 😎
So so so very true🥺
Love this so well said 🥺
Itsacly right I was praying this would be a longer video it went to quick and putting it on 1080p insted of 240 or 480
Tbh out of all the grunge bands they probably have the most footage. Love them but they were media hogs
@@kenobi5230 I agree with you to certain extent because, compared to Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots or Soundgarden, Nirvana definitely had a lot more coverage in the time Kurt was alive but since then, these bands have had an endless amount of footage out there
Makes me sad to think Kurt thought the show was bad. Literally one of the greatest moments in music history
@@runninglunatic1208 their MTV Unplugged is considered and regarded as very iconic/legendary in many ppls eyes.
He was abused. Listen to his lyrics that was his freedom of reality that and the drugs!
@@jamesvancam pretty much all their lives are seen like this by many generations
Dunning-Kruger effect, my friend. Impostor syndrome
Rip Kurt Cobain. 27 years without you
Oh dear
courtney love
Ooh
@Conner Very he was killed at the age of 27
I didn’t even think about that can’t believe it’s 27 years so ironic
This makes you wonder what other great footage from the 90s that MTV is hiding from us...
MTV Unppluged by Alice in Chains
you'll know soon as they find a way to monetize it
There really isn't a lot of great footage.
A ton. Just the VMAs 1990-1993 alone are a treasure.
The fact that he thought that the crowd didn’t have a good time made me go 🥺🥺🥺
So ya'll got more content of Kurt and only release on the anniversary of his death??
Greedy
Exactly
Honestly I'd rather them do that than all at once
It's called marketing haha
If they dropped everything at once - there would be nothing new to anticipate or hope for.
Imagine being there...
I was just thinking the same thing and have thought that for years. I'm hoping a VR version comes out sometime, where you can watch, as an audience member. How cool would that be.
@@susietopspin hell yeah
@@susietopspin
that would be cool but i dont think you understand what point of technology we are in yet...
@@judahc8980 yes I do. The point where VR is already available so just a matter of time 🤞🏻
@@susietopspin
i hope were missing something very small that way we can improve vr by a lot as we get older in the next few years. but modeling all of that would still take hours just to simulate that so it may be years and years and years. i agree though
Rip kurt, it’s so sad that he’s been dead longer than he was alive
Not yet, in late May/ early June he will be dead longer than he was alive.
@@notreallyreal7812 he died on the 5th of April so he has been dead for longer than he was alive
@@lebigfin5251 nah technically Mayas right, he died a month 1/2 after his 27th, gotta factor that in
@@lebigfin5251 very sad
That riff towards the end was so melodic and gave me the vibe that come as you are kinda does
I hate when docs of any kind do that though lol. That's just "hey we can't afford the rights to the music so here's something similar from nothing"
i'm very curious what song is that? totally agree with you, very melodic indeed
@@Rallyart1991 I doubt it's a song even. The production team probably just hired some musicians do write stuff. Like many other docs do
Name song?? 🙏:)
@@quark89 there isn't a name for that song, but there is a "nirvana's song" called "drowned in the sun" made by a artificial intelligence, and it's so similar to the riff in the video
It’s been 27 years and there’s not one person in the music industry that changed music like Kurt did.
Not exactly true, but he is indeed one of the greats
Do not come at me Mr. Crazy Man but I think there has been one person since, it’s Amy Winehouse. She opened the doors for modern artists.
In what way did he change music?
@@Miguel-yx9zg No, that was all done in the UK a decade and a half earlier. Have you not heard of the Sex Pistols, Sham 69, The Buzzcocks, The Damned, UK Subs, X-Ray Spex, Angelic Upstarts, The Exploited, The Dead Kennedys etc etc? Nirvana really did nothing new, bands had been doing the same for years before them. They were just old punk-derived ideas, slowed down and rebranded as Grunge, something ‘new’ for the kids. The fact that record selling corporations made billions out of Nirvana and their ruggedly handsome singer is only testament to how effective a marketing campaign the media did, like they do with all fads.
Even at 21 when Nirvana got big, I could see from the incessant promotion on every form of media back then that this band were clearly the subject of an overwhelming marketing ploy to create a new movement, a movement of mediocrity and musically unchallenging content to appeal to the widest range of undemanding listeners. The weight of all this fame, pressure and responsibility ultimately lead to the deaths of a number of the front men of these bands. As far as I’m concerned, there’s nothing to be celebrated about this rancid cultural trend.
@@Miguel-yx9zg Glad to hear it.
MTV sitting on a ton of footage just spoon feeding us new footage of this concert. :P

I wish kurt cobain was here so he could know that his performance that night was legendary, it was gold, inspirational words can’t explain flat out just a one in a life time performance, a legend Rip.
He knew... in the elevators it's reported that he commented with a smile about how amazing the performance actually was when he got over his immediate anxiety.
@@rogerbuds19 goood to know
i like that song in the backgorund, what is it?
If he hadn't killed himself it wouldn't be legendary!🤘✌
We really miss you Kurt. Both the fans of the beginning of when your creativity and character became widely known, and now with the new fans you gain on the daily who are just learning about your impact on anti - censorship on music, to treat everyone and anyone with kindness, the HUGE impact on the entry of grunge and underground rock and of course being your own person without trying to satisfy others. 3 decades later, we still listen to your wise words and beautiful music. And I’ll never stop. Thank you for your hard work, energy, blood, sweat and tears, as well as the people who loved and inspired you. It will never go unappreciated Kurt, we love you and appreciate you so much. May you Rest In Peace with your uplifting humor and loving heart. ♥️
Aww this is sweet. Agree 💯
i am indian.and i don't know why I feel so connected with him. whenever i listen to his music or watch his interview it seems he is one of my own. i love him so much
We will never forget this man walked on earth once and he made some music with his friends.. I love you Kurt, thanks for everything
I'm calling out the audience that were on this show. I'd like to tell you how lucky you are to be there 😩
Those mfs where so ungrateful it lowkey makes me mad
I would pay any money to be in such live performance...
Krist lost a part of him now that the fact Kurt's gone , we miss him so much , imagine how Krist must be feeling , they both were like best friends.
Krist was mind numbingly annoying in his younger years. If 99% of what comes out of your mouth is sarcastic, it's no longer sarcasm, you're just kind of a dick
The guitar riff that starts playing at 5:03 into the video 😩💕
ua-cam.com/video/sjtVCmUvFiU/v-deo.html
what’s the name of that riff?😩😩😩😩
Name?
Nombre xfa
.
I'm glad Alex Coletti cleared up the funeral statement in this interview. It wasn't Kurt who described the look & feel of Unplugged as a funeral. It was Alex. Kurt was just agreeing with ALEX'S statement.
Been jonesin for a new video man. Love the drumming on Scentless Apprentice
@Hot Wings but Foxy needs the fuel for his murder theory so badly..
@@hom0s4cer yeah, HIS murder theory 😂👌
2727. It has been 27 years when you were 27 years of age 😭 we all miss you as our dear beloved Kurt. Im happy you are not in pain anymore above there sir KC 🙏🏻
He never thought he was good enough, I wish I could’ve told him how much his music changed my life and made me want to make music...I think about this when I’m down and it gives me hope
He's a 100% perfectionist.
Why I like him even more.
Thank you for changing my life, Kurt.
This offers so much insight to the moments that lead up to this show, the mindset of the 90’s at the time. It’s easy to look back now and say “wow that’s haunting” and “we miss you Kurt” but in the moment I’m sure this show probably flatlined some people and changed the game man.
This is intense. Especially that clip of Grohl playing Lithium with Kurt and Pat talking.
*dave amused with soft brush drum sticks* pans to kurt “reverb REVERB”
"How many candles and flowers do you want on stage, Kurt?"
Kurt: Yes
Props to the sound guys
By stripping them of all the noise -- the distorted guitars, the pounding drums, the screamed vocals -- this unplugged performance demonstrated that Nirvana was only an immensely talented and exceptionally visionary band with the ability to single-handedly change the music industry.
Just wow. This is probably the cleanest and most crisp behind the scenes footage I have seen of Unplugged Nirvana. If only I could put the clock back to be at that performance. I only hope that there will be VR of it one day. RIP Kurt. Still missed, 27 years later. Rock on.
I'm just glad Nirvana existed and I could found them on the internet. Their music will always be my favorite.
I love this Unplugged, Nirvana showed that they could break out of the distortion, screaming, chaos and prove that they were one of the best bands ever.
No one predicted what was to come: not only Nirvana's best album, but the best Unplugged album & performance, and a contender for best album ever made.
Rest in paradise Kurt. Thank you for everything.
Amen🙏
About time you released that Kurt cobain 🥲
He was the reason I started playing guitar back in 2000 when i was 13 Thank you Nirvana. Thank you Kurt. RIP.
But Did you ever doing tapping on your guitar?
Producer: “like a funeral?”
Kurt: “yeah, like a funeral”
🥺🥺
Illuminati confirmed
Indeed
I have very mixed feelings from that comment 😂😭🥺
He was so beautiful
Please release the full AiC unplugged footage that performance was even better
Really wishing we had a time Machine to go back to this legendary performance
Bless his heart he was so soft spoken and seemed like he didnt want to make anyone mad, like when he asked again about marking it
He seemed to be so sweet 💔
5:50 I bet in this present day he is having a copy of the album now....
The fans outside are like the perfect demographic sample of “90s people” that I imagine when I think of that time period
seeing unreleased or new footage of Kurt & nirvana makes my heart so happy
we need a BluRay edition of the MTV unplugged (or a 4k, 8k whatever is available at the time they finally decide to release it)
Everything about this performance is iconic
Wow!! This over 1,000,000 episodes of Ridiculousness.
What 😂😂
Thank you Kurt, Krist, David, and Pat for this performance. A lot of people grab inspiration and solice from this.
Also need the pants from 1:18
How could you keep this away for so long you know we’re desperate
this is the kind of music we need MTV
It makes me so nostalgic. Back when MTV was actually about the music.
This show was such a beautiful performance, both visually and audibly. Every time I listen to it I’m left speechless, just like Amy Finnerty said. This footage is priceless.
This footage is gold
That was his best performance ever.. He knew in his heart he was great…
he was an angel. now it's an angel, who is in heaven💔
Angels and humans are two different things.
@@sonofnergal4794 I know, but there are people who have hearts as pure as angels
and this unplugged and nirvana and kurt! it's just unbelievable.kurt is so magnificent so vulnerable so mystic yet so personal here! i can't hold my tears whenever i watch this.this was unknowingly his pure gift to the music lovers. but what really happened to him after six months we will never know. and that's the most tragic part. we lost him. a parmanent emptiness in our hearts which never recover. we will never forget you kurt and never stop listening to your music.❤️❤️❤️
5:14 "Disco still Sucks" lmao....we need to ID this dude
what’s the song in the background
This is just lovely. Thanks for uploading this. I'm 40 now, but this album was on very high rotation in my teenage years.
it’s been 27 years since Kurt died
missing kurt everyday, i even cry sometimes bc of it. the fact i was never alive at the time he was makes it even worse
Kurt has been gone for 27 years, and he was 27 when he died. That's just....time goes by so fast.
Kurt Cobain isn't just a name it's ❤️
Omg this is gold
That riff near the end of the video was beautiful
Cómo se llama
the quality was so good that I forgot most of this was recorded nearly 3 decades ago
"How do you think you're gonna sound?"
Krist: "like toilet paper"
Omg this dude lmao
1:13 Damn, Big John with Kurt's Martin in classic guitar position
1993.. when REAL music was still promoted..
Music industry is a joke right now. I miss those old times
"Brought a few different things out for Kurt to try and of course he picked a office chair" That was good xd, i think it'd be great if mtv would make an true unedited album also with the behind the scenes.
I had read somewhere that Kurt was very nervous and very insecure about this show. I don't quite know why but it always makes me sad, when I hear that _"OK?"_ that he says in the beginning of this video, around 0:08 _"...turn up my vocals a little bit on this song. Don't forget to mark it....OK?"_ You can tell that he's taking this very seriously.
I think that he really wanted to show that he wasn't just some "punk rocker" that was only good at screaming and making a lot of noise with his electric, distorted guitar but that he was actually a real, a great songwriter. If you're a fan, obviously, you know how talented he was but most people who only heard of Nirvana had/have this image, this idea about them, that all they were, was a loud band with a Heroin addict as their front man and all they did was making a lot of noise and breaking their gear at the end of their shows.
To this day, it makes me so sad, every time I watch this and see how Kurt wasn't sure if people really appreciated his songwriting and his vulnerability, his ability to be more delicate and to put emotions in his performance.
♥️♥️♥️
05:01 nice tune.
I’d kill to see BTS of the Alice In Chains Unplugged performance!
The best ever on unplugged....from nothing to something, best of Nirvana
Miss u kurt 😫
Happy 30th anniversary of this legendary show in history of rock!
I'm 15 years old, I always like nirvana, 90's rock band and early 2000's rock band. Music nowadays is not my type, I wish rock back in mainstream

Imagine being at this legendary performance. Oh how I wish time travel existed...
Yeah the audience would like more of this content please
thank you so much for the footage!!
Thanks so much for uploading.
3:33 rare lithium drum isolated how nice is that
I love that Lee and Steve (and I assume Thurston and Kim also) from Sonic Youth were there (big friends and supporters of Nirvana). It's good when bands have their friends at these tapings. Metallica were at the taping of Alice in Chains' unplugged (also friends of AIC).
Best unplugged of all of them
Amazing to see new footage in such a great quality. Would've been a great show to witness.
This concert was so awesome. Still timeless.
This is amazing
Awesome footage!!!
MTV is sitting on a treasure vault so is Howard Stern. Start selling them in 4k with flawless audio.🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Oh Kurt thanks for sharing ur pain and talent. And shaping the 90’s for teenagers everywhere back then. We all are still big fans and Cary ur music and voice with us.
I love it that Lee and Steve of Sonic Youth were there to support them! Michael Stipe of REM says not attending the taping is his biggest regret.
Its amazing he thought it was bad. Its legendary. Makes me feel bad
Finally! So this is how MTV, Nirvana Unplugged in New York was made before I was born in the year 1998 and not 1993. This is a tribute to Mister Kurt Cobain who died in 1994. MTV News, keep up the good work with finding more rare news in the past.
Real gem right here. Nirvana forever 🤙
im so glad see this video
Much love for this band
Omg im so happy i found this gem
