These “chaser” tow operators are the biggest losers on earth! They lie and scam people all day. Last time my girlfriend got towed by one of these losers, the operator told us that he wasn’t able to bring her vehicle to the collision center that night. He said it was closing soon at 10pm. The Accident was after 9pm. So he had to tow her car to their storage facility that night and would bring her car to the collision center the following morning. The next day when we went to the reporting center he tried collecting payment for 2 tows. The officer on site called him out right away and asked him why he didn’t tow the car in the previous night? The officer said he had more than enough time because they closed at MIDNIGHT not 10pm as he told us. Since this guy wasn’t bright, he had the nerve to argue with the officer and gave her a lot of attitude. Since she knew he was lying since she’s seen him many times in there over the years (so she knows that he knows it closes at midnight) She had him investigated for fraud and he actually did get charged! The reason how I know this?? He kept calling and harassing my girlfriend to meet up with his lawyer and come to court with him so she could lie for him. She told him good luck you’re on your own with this 😆.
@The Visionary If your not on a highway and its moveable on its own power move it off the flow of traffic If he is telling telling you to move it request a supervisor to the crash ..Your CAA might be there before the supervisor Doesnt always work But you have the power to say where your car go's and does not go Provided that the response time of the towing company is reasonable, you can use the towing company of your choice. This includes agencies such as CAA that have their own authorized towing companies. Biggest mistake people do is Get out of the car see the damages, Talk with the other driver, Call 911 even if there are no injuries or need of fire medical and police Police rush to the area and take over what happens ..See if your ok and your passangers Take a qiuck look at the other persons car for Model and license plate incase of hit and run even a picture with cell phone ..If you have not by then seen the other party exit the car/truck find out if they need help (required by law) At this point if you need a tow Now is the time to call CAA find out the name of the dispatcher And arrival time of the tow truck Exchange info with other driver at the crash See if your able to move the car from the road away from traffic After taking a few more pictures of damages and angles of the road where you first hit ..When officers come keep your phone recording This will also help when a supervisor comes on the call
As a former tow truck driver for Caa. I've seen chaser guys threaten Caa cucustomers fight other chasers. For alot of these guys this is there bread, butter. Some days you don't make any $$$. I recommend everyone should sign up for some type of roadside assistance, CAA, cause if you don't. these other guys will break your wallet. Good luck out there

Who ever is responsible for this , know that you put people's lives at risk especially the firefighters who responded. Under ground parking lot fires can be one of the most dangerous fires for firefighters to battle. Visibility is zero because of all the black smoke. So much so that you can't, even see the fire until you are next to it. There is a risk of getting lost and running out of air. I don't think you would want the death of anyone hanging over you.

Collision tow is much more than just tow. It is also properly clean up and proper disposal all illegal spills like oil, antifreeze, brake fluids and diesel or gasoline... and this is very expensive job !! For instance last summer customer called and request a tow . We estimate the tow about $450 . When I went on the seen to pick up that car I find out that driver hit a rock on the road and made a hole oil pan. He scattered oil all over the road In distance of about a mile. State trooper officer order me to clean oil spills. It took me about 3 hours to trace down and clean all oil spots on road plus trip to dump yard and disposal fee. So that $450 tow turn out in to little more than $2000 !! Customer was really upset because he has to pay that much and his insurance was not covered it !!!
They are scammers but you’re not required to be towed by someone who gets there first. I told one to tow my car to my house after accident and it’s accident tow flat price (insurance will reimburse you for it later) The guy wasn’t happy but I couldn’t care less. 🙂👍🏻
I got pulled over by the OPP for having wrong plates on the vehicle and he called a random tow truck to impound my car. Talked to the cop and he let me tow the car anywhere. When I got to my shop the tow truck driver wanted $400 for a 8km tow 😂
they need to use tow company's the same way they use ambulance services. one gets the contact for the county emergency services. everyone else is stuck trying hard to build their reputation to win the contact the next time it's open

A friend of a friend told me. She was driving home from work. ( Clean driving record ) Driving to weather condition, She spun out hit the guardrail was out cold. The insurance company put her at fault. One of many exs insurances are crooks !
You need to also mention that if you're stuck on the 404 or the 400 or the 401 you are not allowed to choose your tow truck driver the cops wants you off there as fast as possible they make up your mind not you.
Industry needs to be regulated. A max amount needs to be put in place they can charge. Bunch of leaches need to be squashed out!

You can get charged with Stunt Driving, be found innocent, and still have to pay for a week of impound PLUS outrageous tow fees.

Easy fix. Do a round robin tow truck pick up based on tow truck business location within certain KM of accident.
They can't be on site unless the police or driver have call for it. They most stay 150 meters away from the accident
