Beautiful site, little exposed maybe. Hats off to you sir for using light weight kit and finding and experimenting solutions. Love the two part pole 👍👍
Thank you very much. It has been said that I am a bit of a hobo type of person regarding my outdoor activities. I tend to make or just adapt things instead of paying big money for top line kit. I guess those poles are a perfect example...lol. I enjoy a simpler type of camping experience. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy....... Oh, that location is an old apple orchard that has been forgotten about, which has made me fall in love with it. Cheers.
You can't beat the I made this feeling and so long as its a good job everytime you use it, you get a little bit of satisfaction and finding solutions to small problems is one thing I aspire to. Another is doing it for free or near as I can get. Keep up the good work 👍👍
HiIl , it's good to have a few tarp configurations under your belt .This allows you some flexibility in different weather and terrain. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
Hi, yeah I have a few other ideas as well, but will try yours also in the garden when it stops raining. If I can't perfect a set up I may resort to a civilian equivalent tarp( but square). Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
Hi , yeah, you can probably see I want a perfect set up to just have under the belt so I don't have any messing around if the weather conditions change fast. I had a few hours so I decided to try a few things.Failed but that's part of it also. Thanks for watching. Andy.
That's the plan to document the journey .I am sure the winter weather will possibly make things hard, but I'll do my best to bring you guys along. Thanks for watching and commenting. Andy.
Hi, if you have snow, that means cold rain for us down here at the opposite end of our island. Is that common to shut gates because it snows or only if its real bad. As long as you got some heat , a cup tea, and biscuits and nowhere to go or be it must be nice looking at it through a window. Take care .Jan 3rd ill be on the trail in Scotland. Thanks for watching. Andy.
If the local council can’t get the snow plough in they will lock the gates you really have to go north of Aberdeen for this to happen are you climbing any Bens
If there was suitable trees you could use a ridge line to hold tent up and do away with the tent pole give you some more room inside love the dpm basha quality bit of brit kit mine has served me well 👍
Hi, you're very much correct. The army bashan is a great piece of kit. I have used it in the army and also as I do now. I am not sure about tree coverage on certain parts of the West Highland way, so was trying to get a ground floor option. As you have pointed out a tree option would be way better. Appreciate the comments and watching. Andy.
hi with your string on the back shame u cant put a stick under it to raise it up so give u more room & with the door put your rucksack there as it have a cover over it anyway id have tho , good video tho its always good to have a bit off practice just to make sure it works
Thanks for the tip. Its going to be cold on the West Highland way so I'll have to get this set up fully practised before hitting the trails. Appreciate your comment and watching. Andy.

You could try narrowing the entrance by moving the front pegs in, you wouldn't lose any room.

Hi Andy, looks like your tried and tested method was the best. Well worth testing out some different approaches before the trip north. Take care Paul
