A weird phenomenon in sports is when teams win titles, they often aren’t the “best” team that they’ve put on the field. Think about the 07 and 11 pats, those teams were way better than that team in 2018. Maybe the Bills win one when the team isn’t as good, who knows 🤷🏻♂️
2011 Pats was far from their best team. The defense wasn’t good and they beat 1 team above .500 that whole year (regular season and Playoffs combined).
Just having the best personnel doesn't make it the best team. But yeah sure, the Pats and chiefs did probably have better teams, but other teams did, too.
@phillyhanson5994 they said that when Chiefs faced the Eagles the first time. Then they won. They said the 9ers were gonna beat the Chiefs easy last year too. You never know what's gonna happen until it does and everyone should know better than to not count Mahomes out so easily
Same teams in the AFC always finish first in their division. Its not like you can make the Chiefs schedule any harder than it is. The only thing in the air at this point is the last question about the Pats: can Chiefs win without an Andy/Pat duo
Chiefs 100% benefit from their division. Think of how bad the Broncos, Raiders & Chargers have been over the past 7 years. I mean we’re talking about bottom 5, maybe bottom 10 teams (Chargers at best have been a mediocre 1st round exit team a couple of times)
@@marsqx9844raiders don’t do really good outside of the division but they are out for blood. Denver is always kinda sneaky. The Chargers build their entire scheme to beat the Chiefs. They have a great passing defense and a killer Edge.
As a Ravens I have to say the North is the strongest, I would follow that with the Chiefs in the west, Allen in the east has potential opposition but not currently, CJ doesn't have a high floor but the south is the by far the worst

Finding a replacement for a Hall of Fame defensive tackle is no easy task, let alone one with the physical attributes, leadership, and work ethic #95 has displayed for most of his career.
That 2022 draft that Nick is talking about yes the Chiefs traded up w/ the Pats to get McDuffie and the Bills had to take Elam but the crazier story is that go back and watch the Bills draft room reaction after the found out the Chiefs traded up and pick Trent. Man, I’m just so glad, as much as I hate the Chiefs, that we got to watch the 2 best QBs of all-time actually face each other *TWICE* in 2 biggest possible games. The conference championship and SB. As much as people debate Jordan and LeBron, we’ll never get to see them face off where they’re both near the peak of their powers. I like Brady, the master of his craft, vs the young and up and coming goat challenger. And not only that, but then in that conference game, we got to see the goats of coaching in the NFL. Like Jesus Christ, what a spoiled era of football we’ve had.
It's still a shame to me that we didn't get that many Super Bowls featuring one of Brady, Roethlisberger, or Manning from the AFC vs. one of Rodgers, Brees, or Romo from the NFC. And when we did, the games weren't necessarily as interesting as we might've liked them to be, particularly Super Bowl XLIV.
@ …Romo…really? 😆😂 You really put 4-5 bonafide HoFers and thought you’d slip Romo in there? 😆😂 Everything else you said tho, 100% on point lol and we’d would’ve had Rodgers or Favre, but the other Manning made sure that didn’t happen lol. And let’s be real, Eli’s 2 SBs were more entertaining than anything we could’ve hoped for 😆😂 Go look it up, Eli Manning has actually been rated the #1 most clutch postseason QB of all-time, no wonder he stood toe-to-toe with the goat 🐐
@@MegaMyown I considered putting Favre, Warner, or Stafford in there, but I wanted somebody whose career overlapped more years with the rest of 'em. Romo's rate stats are comparable to Brady's for their careers. Also, yeah, Eli deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, but mostly on account of the 2 SBMVPs.
@ yea, they’re great, Coughlin was great, but at the end of the day, Eli had to make those game winning drives at the end of the games. The defense was *DOMINANT* in SB 42. People love to always say, “the defense, the defense.” Like do you realize in the 2011 season the Giants defense was ranked 27th overall and 25th in points allowed, but do you know what they were top 5 that year? Passing offense. I’m old enough to remember that year Eli was getting *LEGITIMATE* MVP buzz because he had so many comebacks that season and was the reason the Giants won so many games that season. Do you realize in SB 46 the Giants held onto the ball for *37 MINUTES?!* That’s not _just_ the defense, that’s a dominant offense, and definitely more so the offense. Do you realize Eli had a 75% completion percentage that game? Do you realize that the Giants only sacked Brady 2x for 10 yards that game? Eli won the 2nd SB. And lastly, to pretend the defense won SB 46 for the Giants is crazy because the Pats had a lot of drops and Welker dropped a *WIDE OPEN* pass that the defense let him run free on the play because they were confused.
It looked like they were playing with 6 guys on defense and they have a defensive HC. McDermott is letting the Chiefs put up 34 on average in the playoffs.
The Bills team was objectively the worst roster they've had in the past 5 years, and very young and new, while completely revamping the offense and losing 6 of 8 captians, and still paying Diggs. The fact that they were in the afc championship within one score of the best or second best dynasty weve ever seen is pretty good.... i knownit seems like a let down, but its actually overacheving by several miles....
Listen I'm a Chiefs fan so what I'm about to say take with a grain of salt. If I'm in the front office of Buffalo I feel really good moving forward. If DK is available through trade I'm throwing my hat in that mix. They need a yac bully and I think he fits
I agree. As much as I hate the Ravens and the Bengals. Buffalo scares me way more. Josh Allen and The Bills always play us great. Regular Season or Post season.
@WilliamClark-uj1uo honestly until last year I had more fear of Baltimore. However that's changed due to after what Lamars first 2 seasons they ran 3TE sets. That heavy packaging gave them a mismatch against anyone. Idk why but they abandoned it for Lamar to showcase he could pass more but to me they were far more scary when they went huge and could basically due whatever they wanted. Now Josh has everything except a go to guy to lean on in the passing game. It's a good thing they didn't land that Brock Bowers kid cause then they 100 would be a fckn problem
Allen is fully capable of beating Mahomes. The Bills organization needs to consider its moves going forward though. They simply don’t have leadership in place of the same caliber as the chiefs. The Ravens have bigger problems. So it’s not all lost. The Bills were void of young talent or talent all together beyond Allen and still may be the second best team in football. That’s the silver lining.
Nick, when Vic Fangio served as a consultant to the Eagles in super bowl 2022, he actually served as a consultant to the offense (giving them a defensive perspective) so they could attack different schemes. He didn't have any input on the defense. This is based on his preseason interview with the Eagles. I realize he may not "fess up" to giving input to the defense given the number of points they gave up but I also see him as a no nonsense coach who would tell the truth. Just my thoughts
You doing all this talking to save face for Vic fangio after the graphic that was shown how Mahomes has cooked his defense? 😂😂😂 when will yall accept that Mahomes is like that?😂
He had the Bears in the Super Bowl. He thought the Jaguars and Cowboys would ge good. Last year he had the Bills and Ravens out of the playoffs. Is this a serious comment?
The only thing that is going to stop what's happening in KC, or at the very least, slow it down, is losing Spags, some other coordinators, or some front office defections. Veach and that team have been lights out finding just the right talent to put around PM15, and Spags is coaching em up.
Nick 100% hits the nail on the head with the McDuffie Elam take. That's what hurts more than anything. Also worth noting that the two highest scores the Chiefs hve given up all year (when they played their starters) was to the Bills. They need to find a way to slow down Mahomes in the playoffs because they've never been able to. 4 of Mahomes' top 5 playoff performances are the 4 Bills games.
McDermott got out coached sure. How many coaches out there can go toe to toe with Andy Reid? The only one I can think of is busy coaching North Carolina college football lmao
Remind me who shut down Derrick Henry for his worst production of the year. ... and who did that to basically every team they faced this season, barring a few excellent balanced attacks. That's what Barkley is looking at. He might get the yardage for the record but a not a lot else if I had to look at it objectively.
@kurtspruhan9470 if you think saquon and henry are equal at this point in their careers or this season, you need to watch more football. Also they're not even close to the same player, derrick henry as great as he is, can't do what saquon can do in the passing game as well. Saquon is not JUST a runner, and he's not only a power or north/south runner like henry. If you knew football, you'd know that you wouldn't come close to playing them the same way. Also unlike the ravens, the eagles do not abandon the run.
@alex-og.zalez9403 I know Saquon well. He's 1 of 1 and he deserves his flowers but I didn't say they were the same, just that the old Titans team and this Eagles team are built the same and run a lot of the same stuff. The Chiefs Defense is much better than then as well. Anyone who thinks the Chiefs are gonna get run over is just hoping for that with no reality involved. It's been shown Saquon can be stopped this year and it was done by lesser run defenses than what the Chiefs currently have. Chiefs by multiple scores of Hurts doesn't light it up big time.
.... and BTW. You should consider who you say "don't know ball" on the internet. I've been at this thing for awhile. Always love a little debate but keep it prof. My guy.
Every legend has a storyline behind it. Mahomes story is gonna be like this. Brady, the great one, that came before him,the one he has to surpass. Burrow, the rival, the one that he goes back and fourth with, cuz at least Burrow won one against him. Then Allen, the laughingstock, the one he continuously makes a fool of. Mahomes, only 29, yet already 2nd in playoff wins, 7 straight AFC championship games, every year he started, and 5 SB's in 6 years, the only QB to EVER accomplish that feat. Off to the greatest start in NFL history by a massive margin, ahead of any other QB in every and all categories, and WWAAYY faster than them as well. Poised and unshakable in the clutch, making plays that leaves fans, players, and announcers scratching and shaking their heads, saying "how in the world did he make that play". Mahomes magic baby, the G.O.A.T. in progress, with much more still to come.
The spirit of greatness doesn't rest on the N.Eng. team. It starts from the top down. The Hunts deserve much love for their hands on approach. Greatness rests on this K.C. team. I got nothen for ya.
During the regular season, the Chiefs shut down the Bills & Ravens running game. They’re much better against the run than #8. They rested their starters the last game against the Broncos.
I knew Marino got to one SB and lost but I didn’t know it was his 2nd season I mean it’s crazy that if you get your shot you can’t miss because you may never get another one. Mahomes making it look normal playing in 5 SBs in 7 years and that’s tied for 2 most appearances ever. Most great QBs get there once when you really look at the all time greats (Drew Brees is the perfect example as he’s absolutely top 20 of all time but he got to 1).
@ you are probably right, I mean several people on social media are bitching how they aren’t watching the Super Bowl, because how unfair it is. But hey we will find out how the ratings are when they come out. If it is basketball ratings we have a problem.
After watching yesterdays show you gotta admit Nick Wright and Sirianni are one and the same. If the eagles win let’s be honest Sirianni will behave exactly like Nick did yesterday.
Yeah about that, it’s looking more than likely we won’t be able to afford Trent smith, Nick Bolton & Justin Reid. Plus jawaan’s contract is still huge. So we might get hollywood or Dhop back, but I doubt we will get them all. As we only have 2 WR’s on contract for next year. In Rice & Worthy
@@DubFreakFreer I would focus on keeping the Defense over the WRs unless they take a minimum veteran deal. Mahomes can do another restructure to free up cap space, I think, so they could keep more guys around. But they GOTTA find a way for the LT.
lol, they have what they need. I’d bet my life that you give Allen a star receiver and he will manage to either get hurt or lose to mahomes ( again). People keep bailing him out in the media but at some point we have to call it what it is. Regular season warrior who can’t get to the big game & now, the pressure is so much IF he ever makes it he will choke it away 😅
I don't think the Bills regret getting Coleman instead of Worthy. Worthy is pretty small, and while he's been awesome for the Chiefs, his strengths are not what the Bills needed in a receiver. I don't think they would have drafted him even if they hadn't traded down that pick.
I find it hilarious when people say it’s not the refs! It’s not totally the refs, but you don’t win something like 17 straight 1 score games without help from the refs. I mean a call literally won them the game against the bengals this year without that call the chiefs would have started 1-1 this year and no undefeated talk. When so many games come down to 1 score the refs play a factor. Before Tom Brady retired name a call that went against the chiefs in a playoff game that hurt them badly in a crucial moment? I can’t, and let’s not pretend they are never committing penalizing in these spots that is insane.
Another example, ossai hitting Mahomes late out of bounds to lose the afc championship game. Did he hit him late? Yes he did, but I also Lamar get hit out of bounds in the Bills game and it was at worse than Mahomes late hit and nothing was called. At a time in the game where it wouldn’t have mattered as much, but Mahomes got it to win the f’ing afc championship game, and he ALWAYS get the call. Just saying it’s not the only reason, but it clearly just help you win games.
@KCUNDERBOSS3900 only holding calls.....we all know Taylor jumps every snap and during the Texas game you here mahomes yelling at the ref for throwing the flag. Chiefs are trash
Listen, I hate the Bills and their fans AND Andy Reid is the best coach in football But to say “coached circles” around them is a wild overstatement lol. They won by 3 points with two 50/50 calls going their way. That’s hardly “coached circles around”.
Ball in his hand, only down 3, 3.5 minutes left, all 3 timeouts. Go win the game. That’s the spot all the great ones dream of. He missed his shot. Now you’re here coping about it 😂
Cheated the same way the refs missed a blatant face mask on Hollywood brown which would've put them in FG range instead of punting, or the obvious offsides by the bills which was called a false start on the chiefs making it third and long instead of third and short? Or the multiple Hamlin holding calls missed on kelce throughout the whole game? Or maybe the clean defense by mcduffie which was called dpi just in case hollins dropped the TD? But yes, of course the 4th and 1 was the only bad call. And you probably don't realize that the worthy catch helped the bills get enough time to go and get a TD before half. Yes, every single bad call hurt the bills wah wah wah
The biggest issue for Allen and Lamar is that they're so heavily built around their running skills and that goes with age before anything else. Both are starting to get to the range where the running skills are going to diminish rapidly and I'm not sure either can do it as a passer without that massive aspect of their game. They both put up good passing numbers but a huge part of that is how teams have to defend them with the run, they almost always face one less in a zone simply because someone has to account for their legs, them moving up to the line torments any defense and creates those off schedule throws. I worry how well either of them will age. They might develop the throwing skills further to compensate but it's a big bet. Both choked very badly this year unfortunately against a very vulnerable Chiefs team that was there to be beaten (Ravens obviously a weak earlier when Lamar again failed in the playoffs).
I wouldn’t say they’re at the age where running skills diminish rapidly lol they’re 28 years old. Running skills don’t usually diminish rapidly until around 32-33 provided they stay healthy & they are such good runners that it’s possible even their diminished running is serviceable. It’d be one thing if you were a WR but you are a QB, meaning that when you run you still have an element of surprise even if they know you’re a running QB.
Ain’t gonna lie, the show gets more and more stale the more the chiefs win. You could pull up a clip from this time last year and the commentary is the exact same.
@ I’m chill with the chiefs and seeing history would be cool. I just want to hear new segments and discourse. We’ve had the “is Mahomes the goat if…” and “are the chiefs the greatest team ever?” for 3 years now. From that perspective, it’s gotten stale

"hope's not a plan" what the other 31 teams don't want to hear
A weird phenomenon in sports is when teams win titles, they often aren’t the “best” team that they’ve put on the field. Think about the 07 and 11 pats, those teams were way better than that team in 2018. Maybe the Bills win one when the team isn’t as good, who knows 🤷🏻♂️
Yup. Similarly the 2020 & 2021 chiefs were probably the best but neither won a Super Bowl
2020 team was by far the best yet until both Tackles got hurt in the playoffs. ‘86 Bears were better than the ‘85 Bears until McMahon got hurt.
2011 Pats was far from their best team. The defense wasn’t good and they beat 1 team above .500 that whole year (regular season and Playoffs combined).
Y’all said this bills team wasn’t that good?
That’s why they say Josh is MVP…..so….. let’s make up another excuse for Josh
Just having the best personnel doesn't make it the best team. But yeah sure, the Pats and chiefs did probably have better teams, but other teams did, too.
Loved the RATM reference Wildes

@@marsqx9844 Three AFC West teams made the playoffs and Denver is back on track now.
Didn't the Chiefs play the Panthers this year? You definitely could make their schedule harder.
All these great QBs are in the wrong era with Mahomes being here for the next 10yrs
Nah Kelce won’t be tho and think they’re going to slow down when Kelce and Chris jones retire
Which is pretty much what happened to all the quarterbacks in the Brady era

Mahomes will be fine without Kelce. Kelce barely did anything all year and they’re in another SB 😴
@@michaelnance8917Chris Jones is the one I'm worried about. Kelce, not so much. They're set up with Gray and Wiley and can sign or draft other blocking tight ends. But that defensive line is not a young unit and most of the guys are just ok except Karlaftis, who can't win quickly, and Omenihu, who probably won't be on the team in a couple years either.
They were CRUSHED!! They targeted Trent but Veach snatched him up.
They need to just get rid of the Pro Bowl. Maye, Russ and Tyler Huntley are all pro bowlers, it’s a complete joke.
Nick needs to allow others to speak when it’s their turn. Obviously brou and wildes are used to this behaviour at this point

Everything else you said tho, 100% on point lol and we’d would’ve had Rodgers or Favre, but the other Manning made sure that didn’t happen lol. And let’s be real, Eli’s 2 SBs were more entertaining than anything we could’ve hoped for 😆😂
Go look it up, Eli Manning has actually been rated the #1 most clutch postseason QB of all-time, no wonder he stood toe-to-toe with the goat 🐐
@@MegaMyownsaying Eli stood tow to toe with the GOAT without acknowledging the giants defense and especially that defensive line is criminal
The random Dak slander at the end did my heart good lol
😂😂
Professional hater 😅
Well said. Go get DK or Tee, and draft defensive guys. Their o line is super solid. Cook is very good. They’re just a few pieces away.

Is it really that genius to just root for your hometeam?
The only thing that is going to stop what's happening in KC, or at the very least, slow it down, is losing Spags, some other coordinators, or some front office defections. Veach and that team have been lights out finding just the right talent to put around PM15, and Spags is coaching em up.

That Rage Against The Machine reference caught me off guard 😂😂😂
Bill Belichick needs to go to Cincinnati or Buffalo
Nick 100% hits the nail on the head with the McDuffie Elam take. That's what hurts more than anything. Also worth noting that the two highest scores the Chiefs hve given up all year (when they played their starters) was to the Bills. They need to find a way to slow down Mahomes in the playoffs because they've never been able to. 4 of Mahomes' top 5 playoff performances are the 4 Bills games.
McDermott got out coached sure. How many coaches out there can go toe to toe with Andy Reid? The only one I can think of is busy coaching North Carolina college football lmao

Just cuz you can touch Saquon doesnt mean you can take him down.
@@alex-og.zalez9403that spin move in that first run against Washington was awesome.

@@docflutythat's exactly what every non chief fan would be saying if roles were reversed
