Call me crazy, but I kind of liked the old color and red engine bay combination. I know this is an 80’s style build, but I was never a fan of painted trim. I spray painted the trim on my first Beetle black because I didn’t have any money. That was about 1983.
This is awesome work but I can’t understand why this is a transitory paint job. Why not do it right only once. I understand this is the owner’s decision but it seems like a waste of effort, time and resources.
@@the_Wagen I agree you guys did an awesome job but I was under the impression that once it gets to Scotland it’s being taken apart again and redone which is the reason behind my comment. Is that accurate?
this was such a blast .. a real throwback to when we were just teenagers building cars on a budget and regular … loved it
That ghia and buggy are sick!!!
Red on red! Holy cow!! Top work from everybody!!
Dude this is an amazing video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
👍👍
As someone still into the scene that frequently saw the original in Southend/Leigh this was an awesome tribute to see in person at #onecrazyweekend
I never saw the original. How did we do?

We were making a replica so we had to follow the same recipe.
What a great time. Wish I could’ve been there to help in some way. Congrats to all involved!

The owner would disagree with you. He had an absolute blast helping with the build and driving the build.

That was the initial plan. It may stay as is. It’s up to the owner now. 👍🏽
this is staying as it is now
@@the_Wagen I believe it is perfect. I would only treat the undercarriage.
