Ironic that the best time was when I quit/got fired from my minimum wage job. I worked as a food service worker I hated being nearly gaslight by saying "we did it x way forever." I hated having to deal with the crabby co workers I hated the fact that I legit got written up when I was majorly depressed and no one gave a f. I hated that my boss would be scrolling through Facebook whilst I have a whole line of karts full of dishes and he's not lifting a finger. Even when I tried to get time to myself by being in the bathroom. They will call me trying to say "it's urgent" when it's not. Be in mind this is the tip of the iceberg
Dang. They shouldn't have treated you like that. You did the right thing to get away from those awful people. This is why I told my parents I didn't want to work at any grocery store or supermarket.
one of the most important unwritten rules of jobs is keeping work friends *STRICTLY WORK FIRENDS* don’t get them involved with your personal life, don’t ask them about their personal life. They can and will turn on you, it’s not worth it.
For the love of God, please, DO NOT work a fast food joint. It is absolutely terrible. Minimum wage, dealing with bitchy people, people you don't like, sometimes your friends, and getting yelled at for not knowing how to do your job when they never taught you. Just don't work restaurants... It ain't worth it.
I worked at a gas station for a bit, I did the closing shift which wasn’t that bad. What’s even better is my town is practically a ghost town so I would see the same 5 people every day who just wanted to get a coffee and hang out. Eventually I’d see someone come in who wasn’t from around here, not even from the surrounding shit holes. More often than not those ones were the Karens. We had full permission to tell those people off from our boss because they would ruin the vibe for our 5 guys in the back.
I’m about to start working at my first minimum wage job tomorrow, so seeing this video has me anticipation up even more, I’m tired of having to ask my parents for cash cause I‘ve been feeling like a bum recently

i work at a movie theater rn and EVERY TIME i have the box office shift i am so bored since no one goes to box office anymore and no one goes to the theater when its daylight
One time when I used to work at a grocery store some guy in the produce section told me he could summon a whole flock or I guess murder of crows to his house at will. I really didn’t know how to respond to that one.
Another big point for step 6 DO NOT FRIEND COWORKERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA UNTIL YOU DONT WORK THERE ANYMORE! Doesn't matter how chill they are all it takes is 1 bad post and them deciding to be a douche one day and bam you've lost a job. Be chill with people in the workplace, get their number if you're gonna hang out outside of work, but don't friend/follow them on socials unless you are planning to find a different job.
Bro I work a minimum wage job and the one thing I look forward too is creating comic books with my team who are outside of my coworkers we create comic books about our real life experiences which makes each day I'm off so much fun
I grew up in a very wealthy area and most people I know still had a minimum wage job at one point in high school regardless of how rich they were. I had a friend that drove his dad’s aston Martin to his Panera shift which probably didn’t make some of the other employees very happy
best thing to pass time is to set yourself a quite lengthy goal, like scan 500 items and then look at the time, if you don't like what time it is fuck it set the goal higher and higher
My very first jobs was sales & we got commission...i thank God now i have a pension & work part time @ a pizza joint mon- wed only ....i xan say to the younger humans.... don't let a job like that consume you if your sick stay home if your shift is over go home if you don't want to ho in on your days off... DON'T!
When I worked at hobby lobby my manager was the biggest op of all time. I was the only person in my department for months and I left for the job I got now. Now I work maintenance in a local factory, it's dirty af but pays nice
Working at Guitar Center, my favorite line was always “You guys are about to lose your best customer, I’m never shopping here again, I spend thousands here, etc” I’m like bye please don’t come back haha
I got a homework grading job in kumon Academy, which is like a summer school chain. NGL, it was chill because I got to doodle little stick guys on their tests. It was quiet and cushy. Essentially, it was a white-collar minimum wage job. Can't recommend it enough.
Guys trust me when I say the last one about how to not look at the time. That shi* is so damn true, like DO NOT look at the time it will make you feel like your going through life legit minutes by minutes (even though that’s what we do). Just find something to do or talk to someone do legit anything but look at the time.
Seeing this brings back memories of college when I worked usually two part-time jobs at a time in order to pay for everything. Also, cooking my own meals saved tons of money. I was already cooking food in high school but college really was where I learned how to cook so many things. Pro tip: Drive a few extra miles to a more rural supermarket to get items much cheaper.
Thing is, I did some practice jobs during my private school days. And there were some I didnt mind, while others were ether annoying or confusing. I prefer the kinds of jobs that lets you move around. But if there is something you don't want to see me doing. . .is handling the cash register. I am not a math dragon, and I would rather be moping floors or finding dent or out of place items.
So I worked a minimum wage job in The Netherlands and after that, I landed an IT job and I must say: a minimum wage job is so bad, they just milk you for money and make you do everything, but it’s a really good starting point to have as you will not be lazy on your next job, but actually want to provide and I think that will land you bonuses in the long run. Had a good experience at a min wage job, made some friends, but I’m happy I quit and looked for something better
When I was working at a grocery store they told me to go down to our little parking garage and chase away the kids smoking weed. I asked my boss "Why? Are you afraid their gonna come in here and buy food"
I had a job were it was common to offer someone 50% of the hourly rate to cover your shift. So the person covering the shift got a bunch of extra money for covering a shift. If you got the time, turn yourself into the person who covers all the shifts. Other employees will pay you handsomely for it. 15 + 7.5 = 23.5 per hour!
For anyone who deals with Karen’s on a day to day for min wage, yall should look into getting a sales job. It’s the same stress but there are plenty of sales jobs that provide min wage + commission. I went from working at target for $13/hour to making an average of like 25/hour during my first 3 months of sales. You just have to be willing to grind and learn how to sell cause the 1st month is the hardest. Worst case you make the same money.
Only cover if you are able to/want to, don’t cover a shift if you already have plans or just won’t make it or aren’t sure, just don’t cover It at that point cuz it’s your day off, I know that some managers would see it as something that it’s not but it’s your day off so you don’t have to cover It if you can’t or if you just don’t want to,if you can and want to then go for it but there’s also been times when I’ve wanted to cover someone’s shift but wasent able to due to school or because of other things
my first job was as a cashier/dockhand at a marina in Alabama and it sucked . i was paid 5 cents above minimum wage half the time I was breaking child labor laws like working to long or not having a document 30 min break every 5 hours ( I only got like 1 break ever and that was because there was a tornado outside) i worked around 50 hour work weeks when the legal amount was 40 for my age and to top it off that summer almost every single day was 97 degrees and up with the humidity forget about it i went through deodorant like it was oxygen . so word of advice don't get an outside job in the summer. continued... one day I was kind of high cause I was on a new medication and they had to double the dose so my body could build an immunity . so I am basically seeing double while county some random guys change give it and he leaves then this 40 year old guy comes in with his 3 step daughters all look like supermodels and while they go get ice cream he goes up to the register and starts talking to me first with some small talk and I'm high AF so I just nod my head and try to look sober and he starts trying to get me to leave my number for his daughters ( and i am just confused as hell and the guy starts telling me how old his stepdaughters are and that they don't have boyfriends all that . finally they bring their ice cream up and he pays for it then leaves my manager who was sitting there listening to the whole thing looks me in the eyes and calls me a dumbass for not leaving my number (he was right ) so moral of the story don't go to work high even if you have a ligament excuse.
Sure become a tennis staff and you know what you have to pick the tennis ball for every player and you only get paid 2$ per hour with 40 Celsius degree at 12AM and no break
That blows. But I'm not really surprised that Alabama violates child labor laws. I live in Idaho and we have some of the lowest wage jobs in the country. They'd probably do the same here.
Step 9 is important, but it can also be important when you are going to move to another location. Basically, you want to work more hours so you can save up that money for furniture, a few appliances, and for down payment of buying said house if you have any extra left. Its a good step. Especially those who want to get out of a city that's full of shit
Im just happy that my first job wasnt a minimum wage job. I ended up getting hired at tesla making 27 an hour i think there is a $2-3 differential bc of night shift. But it makes it easy for me to study in college too
I've worked in minimum wage before. It's not to bad, just very boring and sometimes u do get stupid customers tho. This guy is speaking fax tho, gotta agree.
My first and only job was at a shooting range, you couldn't apply via the website so I went in, got a sheet of paper, filled it out, and the "interview" was then telling me what I woukd get paid and asking me of I was OK with it, I said sure and they hired me (it's an outdoor shooting park, I get paid 11 bucks and hour and it's seasonal work)
Sadly a lot of companies have "now hiring" signs up all year long now And also a lot of companies are implementing computer over sight... most of all if you are working on a computer. My last job tracked every fking mouse click, so performance reviews were all up in your business about how long you were taking in EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM/APPLICATION... you would pass the "handle time" in general but fail because your handle time in (X) program is too long...... and the annoying thing about that is most the time it was long because the computers were old windows XP computers trying to run windows 10.
I remember starting a restaurant job during the pandemic because my main job laid me off and a former coworker I use to work with who worked at that restaurant needed an extra body. I decided to try it because I needed money. I thought I was going to hate it but truth be told, it was probably the most fun and chill time. With how strict the dine in mandates were and customers are forced to do takeout and food delivery apps. It’s just an empty restaurant with no customers to deal with except friends. Basically you were on your phone watching vids all day/night, eat, piss and shit, and get paid.
Honestly if the job doesn't allow music I would dip immediately. I get it is a job and it isn't supposed to be too fun, but my job they allowed music (thank god) and when my airpods died and I was working, it was SOOO boring. I couldn't imagine sitting there all night washing dishes mindlessly, let me bop to some music.
working at mcdonalds is ROUGH. youre always working, theres no time to even breathe. you get paid like ass, the managers are either very helpful, or they do absolutely nothing, and the customers are crazy. my first week working there a customer came up to me and said that it didnt look like i was enjoying the job and that i should try porn instead.. i had just turned 15 2 weeks before.. another time i had a karen scream at me because i explained that you cant add any extras on the milo mcflurries as it was a contract thing. i got told to get the manager after being screamed at for 2 minutes, but obviously they were already there. THE MANAGER then explained how it wasnt possible, but she still wasnt happy. she asked to call the fucking FRANCHISE OWNER and from that point on i no longer believe in society.
man people in my country who work at a minimum wage job or own a tiny store sometimes try to liven things up and hang out with the customer (also that happens in kfc and pizza hut )
Tip for the average boogaloo (tee s) if you wanna build a resume of job experiences just work 6 months at one place and find another job and work there for 6 month
I work part time at a gas station and I live in Michigan so we do bottle returns, so when someone purchases a carbonated drink it adds a ten cent bottle return fee because you get ten cents per bottle, bro got one and asked if he’d get charged for the bottle return and I said yes, then he proceeded to say that “If you’re going to do that they should have a bottle return machine in here” Sir, you can go to a Dollar general and get a drink with no bottle return and it’ll still give you that ten cent fee, any fizzy drink purchased under states that do returns will add that fee no matter what
"Why do you want this job?" When I got this question I IMMEDIATELY pulled out my phone and showed my empty ass card. Amd telling them "I like the company" is a lie they always see through cause they get it all the time.
Another tip which is almost like a side step of finding who the non chill people are and dont talk to them is that find out who the snitches are. Not that you should be doing anything too stupid but managers expect that you will be goofing off every now and again. Do not associate with the snitches because people will think you're one and not talk to you making time go by slower. If you want, you could prob ask other employees who are chill and have been working there for a longer time

the thing is I want to have a job soon to earn some money to invest but my parents don't want me to work until I am done with university
Sadly a lot of companies have "now hiring" signs up all year long now
And also a lot of companies are implementing computer over sight... most of all if you are working on a computer.
Great video as usual
I remember starting a restaurant job during the pandemic because my main job laid me off and a former coworker I use to work with who worked at that restaurant needed an extra body. I decided to try it because I needed money. I thought I was going to hate it but truth be told, it was probably the most fun and chill time. With how strict the dine in mandates were and customers are forced to do takeout and food delivery apps. It’s just an empty restaurant with no customers to deal with except friends. Basically you were on your phone watching vids all day/night, eat, piss and shit, and get paid.
Im 15 and im working on a comic store
Any rude customers, I look at them and go "Have a greaaat day 😄👋"
Fast Food work is hell.
I worked at a supermarket, a fast food place, and a kids indoor park. All of them sucked XD
Honestly if the job doesn't allow music I would dip immediately. I get it is a job and it isn't supposed to be too fun, but my job they allowed music (thank god) and when my airpods died and I was working, it was SOOO boring. I couldn't imagine sitting there all night washing dishes mindlessly, let me bop to some music.
my ass just got a job as a lifeguard 2 weeks ago and this got me locked in fr
I never worked in the fast food business
working at mcdonalds is ROUGH. youre always working, theres no time to even breathe. you get paid like ass, the managers are either very helpful, or they do absolutely nothing, and the customers are crazy. my first week working there a customer came up to me and said that it didnt look like i was enjoying the job and that i should try porn instead.. i had just turned 15 2 weeks before.. another time i had a karen scream at me because i explained that you cant add any extras on the milo mcflurries as it was a contract thing. i got told to get the manager after being screamed at for 2 minutes, but obviously they were already there. THE MANAGER then explained how it wasnt possible, but she still wasnt happy. she asked to call the fucking FRANCHISE OWNER and from that point on i no longer believe in society.
I choose Arby's as my first job because i knew that place was dead. Got paid to be on my phone and standing.
my first job was 14 a hour fast food it was amazing currently 17
yo duck we missed you
my job pays $8/hour AND THEY'VE SPECIFIED TO NOT TALK TO CO-WORKERS
I feel like all fast food restaurants are lame accept for chick fil a.
As a lifelong minimum wage club member, I can say this is very helpful.
Lifelong Minimum Wage Club approved.
man people in my country who work at a minimum wage job or own a tiny store sometimes try to liven things up and hang out with the customer (also that happens in kfc and pizza hut )
Tip for the average boogaloo (tee s) if you wanna build a resume of job experiences just work 6 months at one place and find another job and work there for 6 month
Why
THE GOAT UPLOADED
That start button is from a mobile game right i think the game is cats and robots
I work part time at a gas station and I live in Michigan so we do bottle returns, so when someone purchases a carbonated drink it adds a ten cent bottle return fee because you get ten cents per bottle, bro got one and asked if he’d get charged for the bottle return and I said yes, then he proceeded to say that “If you’re going to do that they should have a bottle return machine in here”
Sir, you can go to a Dollar general and get a drink with no bottle return and it’ll still give you that ten cent fee, any fizzy drink purchased under states that do returns will add that fee no matter what
i just started watching ur channel and i dont regret it
"Why do you want this job?" When I got this question I IMMEDIATELY pulled out my phone and showed my empty ass card.
If you want, you could prob ask other employees who are chill and have been working there for a longer time
Video idea: ranking types of annoying people.
Are you the real duck?
