I personally like this one a lot, and the cumin was off putting in the beginning but I kind of began to like it haha. I gotta try Tygar now!

My samples i wore were ok but not full bottle worthy for me.
Roja Dove did a 2hr talk recently for the fragrancefoundationuk it's here on YT and it's worth a watch. He talks about some game changing perfumes through the decades, mostly women's perfume and also showing some of his vintage collection as he's also a collector.
Yes if he knows anything it's vintage perfume
I recently got a backup bottle of this since I found a good price. It's a strong like despite the cumin note.

He has better fragrances, I like this for what it is. If money was no issue, it would be one of my first choices as a summer scent, but I am not high on citrus frags, and I don't care that much about the seasons, I wear Kouros in the summer like I want to annoy people 😂 Today I am in Bengale Rouge and there are 95 degrees outside, I don't care 😂 and it wears fantastic in the heat! Cheers!

I finally had the chance to smell Rojas Burlington and I must say after all the hype I was hearing I was disappointed.
Didnt like it at all.
Theres only a few Rojas are like.
Also Amber Aoud was like "meh".
Its not bad but too much hype.
Roja Scandal ie still my absolute favorite.

I think the reason you were getting so many requests to review this one is because it's one of the more affordable releases from Roja. I am also one of those who is not willing to spend that much money on Roja's more expensive fragrances. I hoped that Burlington 1819 would be on par with his other fragrances, just so that I could experience the house without spending that much money.

Ya win some, ya lose some. Perfume is indiscriminate, and democratic in many ways 😉 Obviously elitist in others. You can have all the dough in the world but if it isn’t vibing with your limbic system and your body chemistry there ain’t nothing you can do. I hated Roja’s Gardenia and Lilac extraits when they first came out. I knew they were well crafted but I found them cloying. Heavens, I preferred El Nabil’s $5 White Musc perfume oil over them - heathen I am. I did whip out the 10+ year old samples last week and I have to say they’ve improved on me with age - so maybe my taste has changed/ they’ve mellowed. The Vetiver Extrait was my absolute fave. Bought the Vetiver Pour Homme 10ml and whilst gorgeous not quite the same. When you’re gonna spend $£€500+ you have to love it and it better not be giving you sweaty pits 🤣😉
Exactly! Well said...and I learned over the years that price and quality and originality don't always go in the same direction 🙃

I have done a This is not a Top Ten RANKED Rose Episode! But maybe I will focus on "masculine" Rose's one day 🌹
Even on discounters it’s in the $200 range but just by looking at the notes, there’s no reason to spend that kind of money on a freshie, and $400 retail 😂 hell no. I had a sample of this last year, I actually liked it but it will never be worth that price tag. I’m relatively new to your channel but I like your style of reviewing, authentic and straight up, all the best 🙏

This is basically Tygar with the “Roja funk” added to it. Much in the same way Danger is a funky version of Heritage. What could have been an elegant citrus ultimately turned out to be something overly complicated.
I have never smelled Tygar! But it's on the to sniff list 🐽
You are Roja's number one public enemy, keep that in mind.
Today I had a dream that roja was exposed. One of his oldest creation rusted and the content is just normal stuff.
The blend of every creation he makes cannot exceed 5 usd, he sells it for 500. Roja is not our friend.

I try my best to keep them out but remember I don't do any cuts so sometimes it's 30 min to an hour plus of me speaking strait

2:06 Knowing your tastes, I definitely wasn't expecting praises to the high heavens 😂 Just wanted to know your take on it as this is one of the fragrances that's apart of the free bottle brigade and I think that is the reason why there is are lot of positive reviews on it "to an extent". I like seeing reviews that break everything down and aren't "influenced" so I wanted to see what you thought of my No.1, Burlington 1819. Love the way it smells on me with the bright opening of citrus, mint and cumin which just makes it sharper (luckily no b/o on me 😅) then going into a slightly warm saffron and ending in the deep dry down with a wet soil like oak moss (my favourite part). I understand what you mean by b/o tho cause I got 5 of my friends to wear as I liked it but I saw a lot of reviews talking about the b/o note and I didn't want be projecting b/o. After the test, 3 of my friends had the b/o profile projecting but the other two smelled like what it smelled on me so I guess I got lucky 😅🤷♂. Thank you for making a non influenced review on it 😁👍

Gotta respect Rams doing a whole analysis of something he knows he doesn't like. I don't think 1819 is a "freshie" - it's a medium thick citrus-centered fragrance. Better for spring than summer. DEFINITELY doesn't wear like a cologne. Personally I love it, but cheers, Rams! 🐏
It's like a long lasting Cologne to me since it's an Eau de Parfum... it's like Roja trying to keep the freshness of the eau de Cologne while making it last...but that's just my 2 cents
The Roja is the 1st I sampled, which led me to the Jovan. Both smells so similar but the Jovan's bitterness gives it more complexity. Then I learned about Tygra and Vibrato, ended up buying a bottle of VIbrato out of the bunch. In terms of smell I like Jovan the best, but all the rest can't beat the performance of Vibrato, which to me is the integral of a long lasting freshie. It may lack the quirkiness of the first 2 but is a mass appealing one for sure.
Never smelled either of those you mentioned...they are on the to sniff list 🐽
I caught a good deal on a full bottle and presentation of Burlington 1819 for $170 on Mercari. It’s a good fragrance that changes throughout the wearing experience. I’ve owned and worn it for a little over a year. Overall, it’s a good, not great, fragrance with pretty good longevity and projection. Is it worth full retail? Definitely not. I do feel that it was worth what I paid for it.
Yeah for 50 to 150 if there is a spot for it I could see that...but I just don't like that cumin 💀
The opening sounds like Lancôme Trophee…which is what I love about that too.

I completely get what you're saying now. This is one of those scents I initially liked, but as my nose evolved, I just can't enjoy it anymore. The way the mint blends with other notes in the dry down doesn’t sit well with me. That said, the grapefruit in the opening is still fantastic! Cheers!

Curious to see your opinion on this, that’s the second FB of Roja I added to my collection. I actually like Danger Cologne Parfum more than 1819, at least straight from the first 2-3 wears of each. It may take some time for me to enjoy it more, but the cumin has been hard to enjoy/get used to 😅

I enjoyed this but both share the same DNA from Tygar by Bvlgari (came out 2016). I like this DNA for a freshie.

Tygar is the original. I own it and it's a great freshie. Wasn't a big fan of 1819.

@@RamseytheRam it's basic but it works. Basically grapefruit and a truck load of ambroxan. It's definitely not for everyone but the few times I do wear it it's pleasing for what it is. Sometimes we just need something basic and tygar is that.
