    BenQ sent me a new monitor - the BenQ EX2710R MOBIUZ - a 1440p 165hz VA panel with some crazy speakers and interesting concepts. But is it worth buying a monitor like this over the super high spec monitors out there? Let's take a look.

    As what I do is illustration, graphic design and 3D, for me the most important matter is color accuracy. I mean, I can even prefer a 1080p good (good uniformity, no backlight leaks, no dead pixels, good contrast ratio, IPS as VA might put ghosting) monitor with accurate color and wide range than a 4k with just sRGB and issues after hardware calibrated...

    Wayy to expensive. They should of dropped the speakers and the rgb. Drop the price by around 200 and it would be a better option

    • @pronewbofficial

      Yup. People who buy a high-end monitor probably already have a monitor arm, some headphones, and / or some speakers. I'd rather the monitor be smaller, lighter, and cheaper. I'd love for companies to sell versions of their high-end monitors without stands, too. It's a waste of money, space, packaging, etc.

      @@pronewbofficial just so long as they don't do an Apple, and charge 1000$ for a magnetic monitor stand, or something along those lines... Also, if they're going to not include a stand, at either end of the price spectrum, I think they should include a VESA quick disconnect mount or some other technique, like I have on my Dell monitor, albeit a block of wood mounted to the wall, since I had to reuse the stand connection hardware, as it's not a universal standard mount... I just push the button, tilt it backward, and pull it up and off...

      @@EposVox I have a question about monitors in general, specifically about size and resolution, accompanied by a little backstory... The church I volunteer for, is thinking about eventually upgrading their setup to include 1 or 2 cameras,(not exactly sure how many) and as the computer A/V tech, I'm thinking that 1080p is either not big enough, or I'll need two monitors to function efficiently, but I'm wondering, with your streaming knowledge, if there's anything you can suggest, if we ever do go the streaming route?
      Here's what the current software setup on a Sunday looks like so you have some idea... I try to have PowerPoint for a weekly events slideshow, as well as Windows Media Player for background (purchased) music while in intro/intermission, and the PowerPoint presentation view on the same monitor, divided into quadrants on the screen, then I also have SongShowPlus in the background, that I'll make visible on the projector, when PowerPoint and everything else is closed (to free up taskbar space more than anything), that will pull up song lyrics and bible verses, along with anything else they have me add into it... The thing is, if they do go and add a Livestream option to the attendance options, I don't know how the OBS streaming application will work when I need both a lot of screen real estate for the SSP app that controls the lyrics and stuff, as well as possibly a lot of real estate for OBS depending on the amount of viewer interaction I need, whether it be telling me to turn up the audio or whatever it may be... I'm not even sure how I'd do the reading or responding of UA-cam or Facebook type chats... Would probably need a helper as I'm a 1 man show so to speak, and I can get overwhelmed easily if I'm not careful...
      Given those criteria and questions, if we upgrade our monitors, and possibly get a newer custom PC (old one is a little basic for streaming and needs a little extra horsepower), what should we look for in a PC Monitor for those needs???
      P.S.
      As a reference we only have about 22-24 inches in width available at our (current) sound booth, where our current monitor is placed, and unless I get a new sound booth/station desk(probably unlikely) will need to work with the (at most) 24 inches of width available to me for placing whatever monitor(s) we may or may not get...

    Funny that you mention the Gigabyte M32U. I didn't hear a lot about it, but stumbled upon it on a price comparison site. Anyway, now I own it, and yes it was expensive, but yes, I'm satisfied with it. Before I was looking for 1080p or 1440p with 240 Hz, but the 4K 144 Hz I like a lot now (especially for reading and typing). And most important for me: no curve.

  • @Alexandra-Rex
    @Alexandra-Rex 2 роки тому +1

    I went from flat to my first curved that was 1000R, and at the distance I use it, I haven't really had any issues, it feels like normal. I haven't tried going back now that I've used this for several months, but it was ok pretty much from the beginning.

    i'm fine with 1080p 144hz or 1080p 240hz mainly 1080p 144hz because with 1080p u can get a very high spec high refresh 1080p monitor without tha stupid 4k or 1440p price sticker and 1080p gives u alot more options and headroom
    1080p 4 life on monitors
    however i do stream at 720p 60fps because most viewer's resolution on devices still averages 1366x768 sadly so 720p is a safe bet streamingwise

    Didn't noticed it in the comment section, but regarding FreeSync on Nvidia GPU's, it's supported on videocards from GTX 10 series and newer, so those who already has freesync compatible monitors, can benefit from adaptive sync right of the bat, not worrying on g-sync support.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  2 роки тому

      But if it’s not detected as GSync Compatible, you’re going to have any number of experiences, as my note about my prior 2 freeSync monitors flickering and stuff with gsync points out

    • @ALIENiAM
      @ALIENiAM 2 роки тому

      i can only agree here with EposVox, i bought a used 144hz Monitor from Acer, Freesync. Its ofc not listed as gsync compatible like 90% of all Monitors that are idk 3y or older. After 2 Days, many different Driver Versions, HDMI and DP Cables and even active "Converters" that i tried out, nope, no chance to make it work. And i owned 120/144 and for 2y now a 240hz Monitor, both Gsync and Freesync and used Nvidia (Gsync Sticker give me Money Please) and ofc AMD GPUs.
      .
      Besides that, i would even go that far, telling you out of my experience that even if you can make it work on older 144hz Monitors, its not the same SMOOTHNESS as if you would have used an AMD GPU with 100% Freesync Compatibility Support right of the start. But thats ofc a personal opinion though i found some people on reddit feeling the same.
      .
      So yeah it CAN work perfectly, or not at all sadly.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  2 роки тому +2

      @@EposVox yeah, I know headsets like the Vive Pro 2, Valve Index, and almost every Pimax one can run at 120Hz (which is an even 2x of 60), was just worried a headset that only did 90 may cause duplicate/dropped frames.
