That was beautiful. Also letting people who would otherwise never have an opportunity to conduct a live orchestra in their lives was inspired!.
They shouldnt. Conducting an orchestra is something very difficult. So, its just lying to the children. They get the impression that they are conducting, but they are not conducting anything. The orchestra plays what it wants or what it can….its a just a fraud. A lie.
The orchestra plays a tempo and children move at a complete different tempo. So, they are not conducting.

I hope some of the children thought the baton was actually Harry Potter's wand, and that they were actually making magic! (Because they were ;)
I am absolutely sure you never played in an orchestra and dont realize that these children are not conducting anything. Its all a lie, a fraud. The orchestra plays anything but not what the children are marking. They are not marking at all. They just move at a completely different tempo that the orchestra is playing. Conducting is much more difficult than flying an airplane, you see….dont lie to childern and to the public
If you love children let them hear good music at home. Allow them to get in touch with good MUSIC. Dont lie to them.
A child who had nothing to do with music before will never be able to conduct anything. Its just a fraud. A lie. The orchestra plays by itself.
