It is a great business idea. Maybe you could temporarily utilise the adjacent plots as a food stop but also a farmers market where the customers can pass time while waiting for their cars to be washed which would only require the construction of a few stalls.
Ishmael, great initiative. Income generation possibilities should include capitalizing on your captive audience. Consider things that the customers who are waiting to have their vehicles washed might need: □ Haircuts □ Water □ Food/ Snacks □ Car accessories/ Air fresheners/ Steering wheel covers/ Mats etc □ Basic car parts - (on the adjacent plots) □ Print shop - ( on the adjacent plots) ...just to name a few. Again congratulations 🎊 great job.
Put rest room and a place to eat also there so when clients are waiting for their car to be washed they can eat and relax. Create a side business for soneobe who may want to set up food stall/joint there
If you get solar, it may not be enough to power your business unless you get mostly gas-powered equipment, especially during the rainy season. You will likely need a standby generator, trust me. The ECG may sound like a bad idea, but i believe splitting the cost between solar and ECG is the best way. Pay the ghc 90k to get the ECG now and then invest the difference in a small solar system. With time, you will wean yourself off the solar as your revenue grows by scaling up on the solar set-up. Plus, I'm not sure which region you are located in, but the rural areas, especially those close to the Akuapem ranges, generally get more rainy/cloudy days than Accra.
Thank you very much for your input. The problem is not really about getting the ECG but rather the prepaid meters attached to it for a commercial purpose. It's likely going to make the operational cost too high. The right size of solar system should be able to power the devices during rainy days as well, that's why it is very important to take into consideration what equipment to use. Nevertheless, having a backup power option such as fuel powered devices or a backup generator is definitely going to be taken into consideration for contingency as part of our risk management. Where we are isn't within the Akuapem mountain range hence we do not experience a lot of rainfall as compared to such places. Also, if the ECG initial cost becomes cheaper which i believe eventually it will, we'll definitely have it as part of our power options. Thank you very much again for your input. It really helps especially with the planning.
If you look closely, you'll notice it is a small part of the fence which is under the high tension. The position of the high tension is wrong and as part of what we intend to do, is to write to the company to reposition them hopefully some time soon.
It's sad we can't have do it yourself things in Ghana. People will steal everything. I also wish there will be rest stops in Ghana, so travels can stop to use the washrooms, buy something to eat whatever.

You can also consider a mini-mechanic stop shop as well.

You have to do the dpc, dpm and the Damproof paint under and on the ramp.
We used a dpm in the foundation of the ramp
All the best with your business brother 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks you very much
Good job...keep us posted on progress. I am looking to do something similar

Separate the entrance from the exit it makes it easier when you have busy days

Good to have you here 😊

Nice and sweet. We'll be waiting
May i ask the location where this is? I like the land at the roadside
It is located close to Adeiso in the Eastern Region
How much is land in that area? Which area is it please
Prices of land varies based on the location but starting price around my place is about 40,000
I really don't know why people build close to the road side in case in future if it should be a double road what happens
It is always advisable to have buffers on each side of the road to take care of that.
Why did you build under the electrical high tension wires? It looks pretty dangerous.

Hmm. We actually do not have the habit of doing things ourselves. That's more of the problem than having the machinery stolen
Where will the customers come from it doesn’t have that many traffic
There are nearby towns which will have customers coming from and also those traveling on the road can equally be potential customers

If you're building something similar to what we have, excluding land, you should be looking at about 400,000 or more if you intend to use Solar
70x100 is not 8,400 Sq.ft. Please get your numbers correct
That was an error. I mentioned the correct size later in the video. 70x120ft
