      Good review. I like doing both. A gym for variety and a basic home gym for convenience.

    Great review. I think you are the only one that has reviewed CAP Bumper Plates. I just purchased some and agree with the smell and slipperiness of the plates. Other than that they are top quality in my opinion. Thanks!

      @@GabeCuello hey can you give me a update on how the rack is holding up after all this time? Do you still regularly bench and squat with it? Whats the heaviest you went on it? I want to buy a squat rack but I’m also on a tight budget. The price for this rack is amazing but i dont want to spend money on a rack that i might have to replace in only a few years. Thanks alot🙏

      @slumpq Short Answer: I am 100% rocking this Squat Rack. I love it. It is performing very well for what it offers. I also got new j-hooks. It's much sturdier.
      In some context with load/performance, I squated 315lbs again, and it took it with ease.
      I will make sure to do a detailed follow-up review on this rack and some upgrades soon.
      Again, thank you for watching, commenting, and supporting my channel.

    Perfect👏 i am from Portugal and just did the same, one of these cap rack, a 180cm barbell, plates, a bench and adjustable dumbbells bar same size of the plates.. 740€ and i have a home gym just to keep my health and gain some muscle, i don't want to be a bodybuilder.

    That’s a difficult question because I’d have to ask myself if this is eventually just going to be a devise that I’m going to hang my stuff or am I actually going to use it.

    I would like to keep this outdoors and it rains a lot where I am. Do you think this squat rack will hold up with the rain?

    • @GabeCuello
      @GabeCuello  7 місяців тому

      No, unfortunately, it will rust.
      Mine did, but then I covered it with a tarp to reduce the damage. After the rainy season passed, I immediately removed the rust.
      The squat rack is great and still holding up but it is weak towards damages like rust and excessive movement in general.
      I wouldn't chance it.

    Thanks for the review. I also ordered the weight plate holders. Still waiting on all of it to come in.
    Question: When you showed that the weights on the plate holders can get in the way when bench pressing, but then later in the video it looked like you were bench pressing just fine with the weights on the holders. Was it just an angle difference or had you lowered the plate holders to make room? Thanks

    • @GabeCuello
      @GabeCuello  Рік тому +1

      Hi!
      Yes, I lowered/adjusted the plate holders. I had to lower it as low as I can go WITHOUT INTERFERRING with the base structure (Look at time stamp 6:15. Where the triangular plated support of the racks structure are attached).
      So, It depends on a few things. Your arm/elbow length as you lower the barbell, what plate size you're using, and the height of your bench.
      Hope this was helpful. Get SOME!

    It ain't pretty but have you tried sandbags to keep it from tipping over?

    • @GabeCuello
      @GabeCuello  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Kris,
      No, I have not tried that. I have found my weights to be performing well already.
      When I move to another place, I will either drill this rack to the deck or just upgrade to a wall mounted squat rack.

    How wide is the rack? I have a nook that's 47 inches and I'm not sure if the rack will fit in there with the floor anchors.

    • @GabeCuello
      @GabeCuello  2 роки тому

      Hey, 47" wide but with the floor anchors, that adds 1.5" to each side, so... 50 total inches in full width.
      Hope that answers your question. If i misunderstood you and was not clear, let me know to correct myself and get you what you are seeking.
      I wish I could answer with images lol.
      Also, thanks for watching and supporting the channel.

      @@GabeCuello Thanks, that's super helpful. Do you think I could assemble it with the floor anchors on the inside to reduce the width?

    • @GabeCuello
      @GabeCuello  2 роки тому

      Ooo, that's a great idea annnnd question. Thinking outside of the box. That's what im talking about.
      You can do that, BUT the back bar will interfere with one of the anchor holes. You may need to drill the deck first and then place the bar over it. The other one will work no problem.
      If you're serious about this, email me. I will send photos. I know the feeling of dealing with big/heavy orders and not be satisfied.

    • @tvboxify
      @tvboxify 2 роки тому

      @@GabeCuello Hm, interesting. I'm not quite sure what you mean by the deck (do you mean using the anchor holes to drill into the deck?). Are you saying that if I assemble it with the anchor holes inside I can't anchor the rack to the ground (because the back bar covers the top of the anchor on each side in the back) but it will still fit together? I don't plan on using the floor anchors so I'd be ok in that case.

    • @GabeCuello
      @GabeCuello  2 роки тому

      Oh I see. Yea, it could work. I thought you wanted to use the anchor holes.
      But yes, you can switch the bottom platorms (bars) to have the anchor holes facing inward. I have not tried it so I can't promise it will work but as im looking at it, I dont see why not. They have the same holes.

    I went to a few websites and I noticed the one that was selling it told me the weight capacity for holding weight plates on the barbell was 500lbs. By looking at how unstable this rack setup is and what you told me about the original about the jay hooks on the company website it's hard to believe that a setup like that can hold a load of 500lbs. And for most people $800 + dollars is a big investment. I mean this is the most affordable squat rack I've seen online. And I can see why it wobbles. Which can make a person seem unsafe when they are doing pullups squats or barbell bench press.

    • @UrbanJournal
      @UrbanJournal Рік тому +1

      Coop from garage gym reviews tested the weight capacity on his channel and it passed. The video is on his channel. It’s called something like “cheapest squat rack on Amazon”

    It's an "olympic bar" that's why it spins.

    • @GabeCuello
      @GabeCuello  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Not all "Olympic" barbells rotate on the shaft, hence the reason for making my point in this video.
      This specific barbell's shaft is what spins when it "should" be the Sleeves. It was worth mentioning as it does not state this in their description page.

      Thank you watching and for your concern.
      Fortunately, I have had zero issues with getting hurt using this rack or dropping the bar on myself.
      This may be because I don't lift beyond my needs and strive for quality and control over load and emotion.

    This is a terrible design just save up for a real squat stand. Two buckets filled with cement and two 6x6 wood posts would make a safer stand in my opinion
