Zip lock bags are so inexpensive that you can put your device in one bag, and then put that into another bag, and then into a 3rd bag. If you want it to float, then put a little bit of excess air into one of the outer bags this way your device is less likely to be subject to condensation.

Uh, you can still use your phone through a ziploc, that's got to be worth the few cents investment. Plus who is actually concerned with long term submersion? Are you a mermaid?

Im in my pool rn, and its in a ziplock bag (3 actually) and, as you can see, ny phone is fine! also, who is going to keep their phone underwater for THAT long, Im pretty sure everyone here wants their phone in the wter for like 5 min to get cool Insta pics, or other Social media sites.... peace

and now i know water proof even greater than 1 hour submerged

DougisLive gonna do that rn but I have a weird zip on the bag that may let drops in but my phone is water resistant so I should be fine.
just for the minority, I said resistant, this does not mean water proof, it can still get damaged, just takes more water
I'm going to do this :
tape my phone especially the charging port
and
put it in 2 zip-lock bags
and according to this video , a zip-lock bag will do you a lot and what I am doing is unnecessary.
Today I'm going to wet and whilds i took a zip bag and put my phone inside and I so happy my phone won't get wet

in order to not get your phone wet in ziploc you need to put your phone in a ziploc and fold it then put it in another ziplock then I won't get wet I tried it and my phone didn't get wet and I got to take cool pics and videos

You can buy about 10000 "replacement cases" for the price of one otterbox. Buy a top quality sandwich bag. They don't rip so easily, and most are clear enough to take a soft focus picture through in a pinch. Stepping up to a small freezer bag increases the gauge of the plastic and generally offers multiple seals, but many have a blue tint. Also a little bigger if you have a book-style cover for your phone as I do. For my purposes, which is to protect my phone in a boat, or in a bag near water, it is more than adequate. My S8 is supposed to be "resistant", but why have a sad story on vacation? I'll take my chances and pull the camera out if I want a pic. I have been experimenting at home and came here to confirm my own findings. I will be going with a box of freezer bags next time I need to operate my phone - or more specifically, my gopro app - in a potential submersion scenario - or even camping! Funny writing, BTW...
PS - Do any of those covers work better/worse at different depths/pressures?

That's true although they do have made tough Ziploc bags for meat

Lol I have my ps vita in a zip loc bag in case of heavy rain learn my lesson big time with my psp got water damage. I can't even charge it due to the battery port got fried
+saskekun101 psp's were basically a gameboy with a disk drive. But I play the heck out of mine and don't regret the $150 I spent on a slightly used 3000...not to mention the money I spent on games.

The only reason i want a waterproof bag gor phone is for watching porn in the shower and instead buying a 10$ bag you can get for like 30 cents? And if your overpeotective put it in miliple bags so there
