  • Developed from the T500, the Suzuki GT 750 adds a third cylinder and water cooling-something not seen for over three decades. This bike was a promising sport tourer but died out due to automotive smog regulations of the late 70s.

The LA Mann GT 750 1971 model is my Favorite and I even like the big Shoe Brake up front.

I bought one of these, in rough condition, over 20 years ago for $150. Sold it for $200. Really wish I would've kept it and fixed it up.

I had the GT750 A in 1980, but didn't have the personal weight to hold her down on a fast turn.

I bought a new 1973 GT 750. Beautiful finish and as smooth as glass at speed. But its handling was horrible if the road got twisty or bumpy.

I had the same bike. I did not think the handling was horrible, but it was not up to the speed potential of the engine.

Never rode a GT750, but I have the GT550, smooth as silk and I love the bike, but handling is not great.

I have the real heavy girl I own a 1975 Suzuki re5 she is the other water cooled but she's also an oil cooled engine as well but as the RE states she's rotary she also went the way of the wind in 1977 I love old Suzuki motorcycles. Ive owned a gt250 before as well.

I had this 72', painted it black cause I kept getting razzed about having a pink bike. Got K&N filters and expansion chambers put on by Suzuki, they rejetted the carbs. Kept having battery problems, then it wouldn't run right after I rode it home from FLA to WA. Bike shop said the alternator shaft was busted and there was a hole in the top of the middle piston. That ended it.

Nope, Z1 was the better of group. I had a KZ900 after my 72' GT750 died.

Your bike has a 74 or newer cylinder casing.. THERE WAS NO LIQUID COOLING MONIKOR ON THE CYLINDER OF A 73... I bought a brand new one in March of 1973. It was red just like this one.. maybe the same bike.. My brother crashed it when it was 3 months old and cracked the cylinder. It got replaced with a 74 model cylinder with the water cooled monikor, just like this one... IS THIS MY BIKE? I sold it in 1976 in Hawaii and that guy crashed it shortly afterwards. I have no idea where it went from there.. . but I might be looking at it.

What killed it was the public perception that a 4 stroke was superior. I was a dealer in 73 and loved that bike. Their rotary bike was innovative but a gas guzzler and too unique for people who liked the Honda 750 because of it's conventionality. Early models would sometimes blow crank seals too.

    H1 is a 500cc bike. H2 is a 750. Get your info straight.
