- A poem from A.A. Milne's classic 1927 children's poetry collection, "Now We Are Six." (For a week on The Seasons where we are considering castles.)
You know, unless they were translated, I don't think I've ever read or heard any of Milne's poems. My children didn't care for his works, so I probably missed out on a lot of good stuff. Thanks to you and Jim I'm reminded of him.
I love your reading of this poem, and I enjoyed the uke and the additional sounds effects, Val!
Sir Thomas is a clever knight and he knows it's important to keep the strategic advantage of a silent armour.
This was great fun, Val.
I can really identify with Sir Tom. Especially these lines:
"(He)... felt that it was hardly fair
To risk, by frequent injuries,
A brain as delicate as his.
Haha! Yes, there are aspects of Sir Tom that are quite relatable ... many thanks for the listen, Berni!
