YEeeeeSsssss PLEASE
+1 please!
That would be great
That would be fantastic!
Second that emotion!
Your on-demand knowledge is beyond impressive. Thanks again, LJ!
I want to give an aloe testimonial. My mom was taking a turkey out of the oven and splashed the hot juices from the pan onto her arms and a little on her chest. Someone is saying get the butter, I'm yelling noooo, run under cool water.....and I can't remember who grabbed the aloe vera plant and started breaking it up, we squeesed every drop from that plant after she ran the juices off with cool running water. She continued patting the aloe into her skin until bed along with motrin and cool compresses. Next morning she had zero evidence of any burn except about a dime sized spot on her neck, which was treated with aloe and also disappeared. I'm a 100% believer, and encourage everyone to keep a real aloe plant in your kitchen! The one that day was relatively small and didn't survive the holidays, but it was well worth whatever it cost!
Yes, aloe is great for burns! I keep a plant specifically for the skin injuries.
Omg I had the same experience i splashed the hot drippings from the turkey on my hand and I did the same thing with the aloe plant and there literally was nothing on my hand. I was amazed and so happy. The drippings were about 400 degrees
i loved this topic so much. i think a sequel would be amazing. i love how knowledgeable this community is, and how intelligently the questions are answered. thanks!
Great counsel from an empathetic dermatologist ❤ Like learning from him because he explains so well.
So cute how honestly just comes out. We all appreciate that. Thank you.
Thank you sooooo much for this video
I now have a starting point for my extremely dry skin.
More self care vids, please!!
Great info. I personally use skinmedica eye cream, Retin A at night, skinceuticals CE ferulic acid in the am + moisturizer and tinted sunscreen. The products might sound expensive but retin-a can last you 6 months, ferulic acid ~4, eye cream 5-6 maybe months. There is only so much topical treatments can do.
Can watch you talk skincare all day, thank you.
Thanks so much Dr. M, we appreciate you. Have a great weekend🌀🪴🪸
Appreciate the timestamps!! I realize they take a lot of time to do!! Thank you they are so helpful!
Thanks for all of the information! You both have inspired me and taught me the importance of sunscreen and skin care, and affordable options.
Would y’all consider doing a routine for kids? I want to make sure I’m setting up our children for success when it comes to the importance of sunscreen and taking care of their skin properly from toddlerhood throughout their childhood.
Thanks again! Love your content and y’all’s relationship. Such a fun environment.
Thank you.
I have only recently started watching your videos and I will certainly continue to do so.
I love that the description has time stamps :) not all the questions are relevant for me so it's helpful to go to the bits that are (cause the video length is a bit intimidating)
Thank you for the content you provide for us. Your expertise and opinion is very helpful to me
Because of your site I have changed up my skincare and it has never looked better. Thank you!!!
Omg. I use an exfoliator 3 times a week and retinol every other night, with beautiful results. I’m 64! Works for me.
I started adding cerave retinol serum to nightly routine every other night and cerave acne foaming cleanser that I use every other night as well. I hope these will help me to get rid of my pigmentation / pimple scars around my jawline.
So true everyone is into skincare these days. It’s super exciting!
So much wonderful information, thank you.
Love the 5 o’clock shadow!!!!!;)))))
thank you for your thoughtful answers.
Thank you for doing these Q&As doctor, they are really helpful.
It took me so long to realize that the sun actually makes my acne worse. Mineral sunscreen is the number one best thing I have done for my previously oily acne prone skin. And definitely much better for dark spots than unprotected sun exposure.
What sunscreen do you like / use for your acne prone skin
@@somethingkindawonderful3034 typically anything with zinc oxide. The zinc oxide itself actually helps oily skin because it is slightly drying and seems to absorb any extra oil. So far the pipette, meow meow tweet, attitude, and arbonne ones are relatively easy to blend. The arbonne one feels really nice but kinda expensive. Cerave also feels nice on the skin but takes a while to blend. And then australian gold is great for a tinted sunscreen but hard to get a hold of sometimes. Bunch more that I have not tried though.
That’s funny I found a little bit of morning sun completely cleared up any acne I had
If you're willing to purchase online from overseas then I highly suggest the Rovectin mineral sunscreen. It's amazing and has the most minimal white cast I've experienced, but can't speak to darker skin tones (I'm light tan with olive undertones). Doesn't sting at all, not drying, and has a reasonable price.
Knowledgeable and caring doctor
This was awesome. Thanks!
These videos are so chill and insightful while relaxing or exercising. I wonder if skin health/care is deep enough to turn it into a podcast, if not this is pretty close to one and i love it!
This was great! Monthly please🙏
Yes please! Been taking Tamoxifen for a few months now… and my skin is so different right now
Thank you thank you, I bought the vani cream. Working quite well❤️🙂
INGROWN HAIRS- anyone who is struggling with them here is something that literally saved me- IPL Phillips Lumea- so much cheaper than laser removal but if you use it consistently it will do wonders. I saw first changes after a month or month and a half...I have used it for a longer time and now I almost have no hair and no ingrown hairs anywhere...hair that did come back are so soft and almost invisible.
The only downside is if you have light hair (especially red) or dark skin it will not work good or almost at all
Please show the products u mention for future videos. The visual is helpful. Thank you for your informational videos
I was one of those people with no skin care routine. I just gave up thinking that this is ageing and 5ere was nothing to do against dull skin.
Then i got to know the two of you thanks to UA-cam and my skin improved.
Thank you so much for everything. Lots of love from Austria! 🇦🇹
I have used vitamin c in the morning and prescription tretinniorn every other night for years. Sunscreen is a must and reapply.
I have never seen u with facial hair, it's cute 😊
Really informative and great to hear your insight and responsiveness, hope we see more videos from you like this and recommendations/advice! It’s encouraging and motivating and I feel so much more equipped to confront my dermatologist who seems to have not taken her time to give me the time of day to actually explain and prepare an inclusive routine/prescriptions for my actual goals despite my attempts at telling her. Now I have more of the language to hopefully better explain and express myself to get the effects and treatment I’m seeking. Appreciate it
Oh and truly appreciate you covering erythema and anti-aging in general and also going beyond issues on the face and effecting other concerns
Indeed. Specific skincare needs is a must. One that practiced from an early age...say around age 8.
I have an oily skin, with deep acne scars for 18 years now. Yes that long. And with very visible pores. I just started to take care of myself.

Is it too much?
Great informative content as always! Would you guys please do a video on what to incorporate into your skincare routine if you spend a lot of time (working) outdoors in the sun. Sunscreen in the day, but then what keeps all the damage and ageing at bay over time?
Try Dr. Dray's channel, she made a video about this a while back but is really good
Thank you so much! That was really helpful!!
Bless you for the timestamps omg
PLEASE do a review on dry bushing!
I wish you could put products name in the description 🙏🏻
I love you guy's. You're the best. I've learned sooooo much from your videos. I appreciate all of your hard work. And it's a plus that your pleasurable to watch🤭🤗😉
😅
😅
Thank you for this! Have you guys ever thought about discussing dry to normal skin that’s also prone to acne? I see almost nothing on this and it’s super hard to figure out what to use since most acne things are target to those with oily skin!!
alivera and coconut oil, also buy skin foid weleeda light moisturizer u will tjank me later, and try to uses cerave moisturuser fir dry to normal skin: cleanser, mousturuzer, vitaminc, hyluronic acid and get u retinoil cerave the blue bottle not the purple, and get u also cetaphil moisturizer, I hope i help,

It would great to hear your opinions and or recommendations on a routine using products that don’t test on animals. I find it gets confusing with the more natural products because you don’t see the obvious buzzwords in the product details. Thanks. Love the channel. Also, pre and post menopausal skin care routine would greatly appreciated.
The beard looks good.
This is awesome! Thank you.
Are dark spots on the skin (on the face) ALWAYS connected to Tyrosinase?
Thank you doctor
Love the facial hair!
The best thing I ever did for cystic acne was Accutane at 26 years old. Had a second course two years later then never had it again.
Are these recommendations posted somewhere online? As you are talking it is super easy to become confused and lost. Would be helpful to see lists based off of skin type and cost to readily sort through this info.
Love the scruffy look
Gorgeous
Rite?!?
Omg right? Soooo good looking wowza 😃
Thanks for all the information
Can you pls give some treatment for hyperpigmentation by making an video on it and l am 18 yrs old
Lots of love from India 🇮🇳
LRP has a new balm. It looks great. Just arrived Supposed to be good for chemo/ radiation. Maybe that's all the lipikar products?
Lipikar Balm AP+ intense repair moisturizing face & body cream. Triple repair. Eco conscious tube 👍
@Doctorly Hi guys, new subscriber that saw a few random tiktoks on Insta, and here I am. 🤩Really educating content and looking forward to learn from the videos. One day late for the stream though! 😂 My request is to comment on skincare for nightshift employees, I work nights so should I simply go about with a regular AM/PM routine but reversed?
Dr. Maxfield usually gets off quickly (1m 48s) - you heard it here first.
I really enjoy these educational videos. Thank you!
A sum up of what I've learned these last few yrs going into my 40s... Expensive does NOT equal better... Too cheap IS sketchy (actives)... Just bc a ingredients is good for most people dies not mean YOUR skin will like it (vit C as a dedicated serum is a no for me) .. higher % is NOT better (my niacinamide works at 5% or less my retinol 0.1%) give it time to work you I give any products 6 weeks unless I see it causing me a issue. That is all ty CONGRATULATIONS for reading this far for your time invested you have won this picture of a 🍰
Happy New Year!!!!
The eyebrow raise at the very beginning was very The Rock-esque
Thanks very informative. What are your thoughts on Environ skin care products?
Great video
Thank you so much for info and entertainment!
Do all these tyrosinase inhibitors inhibit the enzyme through modulating different mechanisms? Because if eg they all bind to the same site of tyrosinase, there would be some saturation of the receptor eventually? Someone correct me
Glycolic Acid & Retinoid/Retinol
I use theOrdinary Glycolic Acid Toner every night, and use Retinoid 2% in Emulsion (rotation).
I think the toner is mild enough to use everyday. The Retinoid paired with Hyaluronic Acid (I use Rudha Beauty) makes my skin soft and plump in the morning. My Holy Grails. I have recently purchased Skin1004 Centella Toner and Hyaluronic Acid. I hope it’s not all hype.
I hope that you guys do an oil cleanser and cleansing balm video. Also hope you do a Korean and Japanese Skincare items.
Hello from sligo Ireland 🇮🇪
I'm 51..using retinol on and off for years, I feel my skin is good for my age, could I benefit from the Aklief retinol for anti age benefits..PS..love your videos, so informative 😀 thank you
Hi Dr. Maxfield. Please please can you tell is it ok to use Differing 0.1% instead of Tretinoin. Thank you 🙏 🙏🙏
Beard looking nice Doc!!
I know this is a little late and hi glad to see you on here again so my question is clear and brilliant? It’s kind of like the micro needling at the dermatologist. There’s like three different types of techniques that they use and I think the third one which is called the clear in brilliance is supposed to be the one that does the deepest tissue for wrinkles and hyper pigmentation. Please tell me what your thoughts are thank you, Teresa Charlotte Pharmacy.
Don't know if you've made such a video but please cover how to treat acne under facial hear. I got a beard going and occasionally get pimples on my chin where there's hair.
I would like to hear your opinion on a couple of products I've been using on my face for years. Cetaphil Cleanser and Bio-Oil.
I used bio oil for months and didn’t notice a difference other than it being a good moisturizer. Albeit I’ve never had spots on my skin. I was just using it as an anti-aging topical to give my skin a break from Tretinoin. I really did not enjoy the greasy feeling from the bio oil that would last for hours. Not worth it in my opinion!
Hello Doctorly!
Can you please share guidelines for safe skincare ingredients during pregnancy?
I would love to see the which Rx retinol to choose video as well as otc
I didn’t realize that you shouldn’t use glycolic acid and Tretinoin. I use a gentle La Roche Posay cleanser at night with the tretinoin, but I’ve been using L’Oréal glycolic acid cleanser in the morning, before either my vitamin c, or my prescription hydroquinone-combo product. What cleanser would you recommend instead for my morning routine?
And THANK YOU for all of your continued knowledge you share, thank you 🙏🏻
You could prob keep using the glycolic acid cleanser in the morning….I don’t think it would be suggested to use it at night WITH the tretinoin. If your using it at different times in your routine (which it sounds like you are) I think you should be fine. Especially since it’s a cleanser your using vs a leave on product. If your skin seems to handle your routine well, and you don’t get increased irritation from glycolic and vitamin c together you could prob just stick to it. Everyone is different though, just trying to offer my suggestion!
Wish you could select a few viewers with particular skin issues to discuss options.
Myself, middle age, post radical hysterectomy melasma, menopausal with olive skin(Hispanic).
I hope it’s not too late and you’re still looking at your comments I have a question for you. So I wear right now the 40 SPF but when I go on vacation I’m constantly reapplying and then eventually island it going to like spraying my face just trying to keep an eye on all the time. Which helps but it still creeps through what would be the best laser treatment for me to get rid of this, I think I’ve got my SPF routine down where it doesn’t get worse so I’m ready to remove it and know how to keep it gone It’s just every Clinic tells me to use a different machine so I’d love your advice on which one you think I should go with? I hope you get this I love your videos by the way they’re amazing
I wasn't able to catch this live but I'm very curious about a video regarding fraxel laser/Morpheus8. I had fraxel twice in spring and I just read that some people report delayed skin laxity due to facial fat loss. Of course I'm now freaking out and convinced this has happened to me! What's the possibility this can happen with fraxel? I can't find a true answer online and don't know if the laser reaches deep enough for that anyway.
Thoughts on petroleum based products in skin care and lanolin, I was told years ago that of you react to wool fabric you shouldn't use moisturizer with lanolin, petroleum in moisturizer isn't good for your skin because it may clog pores.
I really want some suggestion about back acne and acne . i missed this live
When should u do body exfoliating in shower before or after washing with soap?
What are your thoughts on Timeless skin care products? They have a vitamin C serum among other serums that I find to be effective.
Hii Dr maxfield
I have been struggling with discoloration on my face like my ears and rest body shade is fair ONLY MY FACE SHADE HAS BECOME 2 SHADES DARKER THAN THE REST BODY SHADE
PLEASE HELP ME OUT 😭 what do I do to get back my natural shade?
I live to take care of my skin and use different products but what I noticed is that the less I do the better is my skin. If I start to use more than 2 products on my skin (serum and creme) I get this comedonal acne
0:03 The eyebrow. I got that too. Is it the Jack Nicholson eyebrow to be precise?
A great moisturizer is Infinite Aloe Everyday Hero.
Thank You!
Can u please make video on rose water as a toner or in general please 🙏🏻
Thanks doc
This is so good, but there were so many commercials I couldn’t finish it. 😟
Are all in one products as good as layering products individually? I’m thinking products like Olay 7 in 1 etc.
Bro you look so much hotter with ur beard. I gotta keep it
Any thoughts on CBD for acne treatment?
UV light is antimicrobial so it harm bacteria that cause acne. Unfortunately it also harms DNA in skin cells too and will cause a weird uneven tan and skin discoloration. Radiation is not the best treatment for acna.
You could consider blue light therapy for acne. I use red light therapy almost every morning and it’s changed my skin for the better.
Does anyone knows if it is ok to use retinol and hyaluronic acid serum together?? I recently bough La-roshe possay set, which include both of this products, but I just dont know how to use them in the same time?
Could you do a video on how to deal with combination skin 😭😭
I wait about to click on another video but noticed how handsome you are with a 5 way clock shadow 🤩
Hello doctor i was not able to attend the session live but my question is i feel itchy in my upper whole body sometimes legs too after bath, and also something when i go to bed .There is no any dry skin and hives in my whole body just few stretch marks.
Please answer. Thank you
I did Botox in my front lines but I didn’t see any change so what do you think maybe it wasn’t a good Botox
Can we use ordinary peeling solution once in a week, while using retinol daily?
I need recommendations for an eye cream. My skin around eyes are pretty normal but my face is oily with acne if that helps. I am using Adapalene and salicylic acid so my face is dry now. I am moisturizing it.
last question... what are your thoughts on Hevatox gel for fine lines??
I can’t use sunscreen. I get these age type brown spots, otherwise I have almost glass skin. I believe it’s the zinc oxide that bothers my skin.
What about your diet for acne, wrinkles and lines, anti aging and the like. I know hydration is vital to my skin but don't you agree to drink plenty of water.
