  • A common question being asked all the time, the answer is not really difficult. Timing is important but if you missed your timing, everything will be ok.

    I just checked the soil temperature and it says it’s currently 82 degrees. I also just ordered some prodiamine 65 that should get here in a week. Can I still put it down or it’s too late? Also why should people put down pre emergent more than once per year if the ideal temperature is 55-70? If you do it a second time in the summer when it’s over 100 degrees then wouldn’t the pre emergent not be as useful?

      Ideal time is spring when soil temps hits 55 for at least 3 to 5 days and fall when it drops to 70. I personally do spit apps. Spring when temps hit 55 and then again at 70. Fall when it drops to 70 and then to 55. Doing it this way, I tend to have way better control.

      @@TheALGthank you. Do you think it’s good to do pre emergent once in spring that lasts 4 months and then do it again in summer and then once again in fall?

      You can. Split apps usually do better, but the summer app will probably be a little overkill, but it will be fine. As mentioned before, observe yearly max and max application rate for your turf type.

    Can i put out a pre emergent and post emergent at the same time?

    • @TheALG
      @TheALG  5 місяців тому

      Most definitely. Liquid is way easier to mix together. Most post emergents require time on the leaf blade. You can apply,wait a few days then water in the preemergent

      @TheALG Man you're awesome, I currently have weeds growing, do I pull those weeds by hand, then mow and bag, then throw pre fertilizer? Really appreciate the help!

    • @TheALG
      @TheALG  6 місяців тому

      @eddiea677 put down preemergent and then pull by hand or put down preemergent and spray for weeds, wait a few days then water in. There are different thoughts of process. If your yard is small enough, preemergent and pulling the best option.

      @jasonyoungokc 6 місяців тому

      If it is already green you’ll have to pull by hand. Or spot spray with something else. Pre emergent needs to get in the soil and it will prevent new weeds from germinating and sprouting up.
