    Can you cover a grass type that mixes well with Bermuda to add to weak areas (low light). As you pointed out you cannot move a fixed structure. I added Fescue to my Zoysia to address that issue

    • @TheALG
      @TheALG 5 днів тому

      I won't directly mix grass types, but I would separate sections of my yard. For example, one side bermuda and the other side zoysia. This way, you won't see two different types in the same space. I would not add two grass types in the same space, it would stand out more. Hope this makes sense.

    • @phidip2328
      @phidip2328 4 дні тому

      You're probably going to have different-looking grass in the same area if you mix grasses, with some grass blades possibly growing at different rates, and maybe looking patchy. There are other ways to fill in weak areas of bermuda such as nitrogen applications, increasing light access, or aeration to relieve compaction.

    Super awesome! Just for anyone else looking to train this way, it's not necessary to pop the leash when your dog is smelling, they might just be looking for a place to pee/trying smell their old urine to get started! It'll help the training go faster if you keep a loose lead (as long as they're in the desired area) to take the pressure off going potty. Popping the leash when they're trying to pee can make your dog anxious about going to the bathroom.

      Google search dollar spot and brown patch. These are the two most common I see this time of year. Look at pictures and compare. I can't really tell you what to use, but the areas should be easy to identify if it is brown patch or dollar spot.

      I had that problem a few years ago. Once we hit late fall and the flowers were about to die, I changed out the soil. I only dug up about a 2 foot circle and about 1 foot deep. Once I added new soil, I never had nutsedge in the bed again. I only had a small problem due to drainage, I am not sure how big of an area you are dealing with.

      @TheALG 12 днів тому

      Nutsedge will multiple if pulled wrong. You really have to pull the whole plant that's under the soil. Otherwise, it will spread. Pulling really only works if you catch it early before it develops underground roots.

    Great info! This has happened to me where I scalp it mowing at 1" because of the uneven lawn and using rotary and found that 2 and 1/8" works for me. I will be out of town for two weeks. When I return since the lawn will be tall I need to do the first cut at 2.5" and three or four days later resume my usual 2 and 1/8th correct to avoid scalping? I normally mow every 4 days.

    I would almost bet this was due to the roof.. Was it new? I only guess that because they have a lot of Zinc in the roof grains now to off set fungus/mold growth. I have seen lawns killed by the drains before. Also.. (here in the south) The rain in the summer can become really hot as it comes off the roof... it can cook the grass too.
