  • White Sun Hat Crochet Tutorial
    A few weeks ago I posted a video to see if anyone would like to see a tutorial for a crocheted sun hat and I was so thrilled with the response!
    Here’s the link to that video:
    • Crochet a Fedora Inspi...
    My inspiration came from a Fedora that I bought at Costco and it turned out to cute! You can make it look like a cowboy hat, bucket hat, floppy hat, safari hat, or a fedora hat! It's such a versatile hat that you'll use all the time! You can even fold it up and store it in your purse or bag as you head out for the lake or beach.
    A few other videos that I watched for inspiration are linked below and make sure to subscribe to them! They are both incredible teachers and have hundreds of designs for you to make!

      Hi Christal, I washed the purple one by hand and put it in the dryer. It got a bit tattered, so I don’t plan on doing that again. I haven’t washed the cotton ones yet. I think they’ll do better than the acrylic ones as far as that goes. They may shrink a little, which is probably ok. They will stretch the more you wear it. Keep me posted

      Thank you Margarita 🥰 It all has to do with the tension. You do have to keep it somewhat tight so that it keeps its shape. You can also make the circle a bit smaller in the beginning (don’t make the last round or two) and the hat will turn out smaller. Hope that helps 😊🧶👍🏻

    Great tutorial! I used a 5 H hook, and I think it might have been too big? For some reason when you said "between 6-7 inches", mine was 7 1/2 inches. I also had to stop at 8 rows to do the sides and back instead of 10 rows. I'll have to invest in another hook to get this correct. The hat looks nice, but is more floppy than the one that you have. Probably because of the hook. I'm going to make a few of these in different colors, though. Walmart didn't have a lot of colors in the Peaches and Cream, so I will check your website for more colors.

    • @SparklyOne
      @SparklyOne  Рік тому +1

      It also depends on your tension, so sizing the hook down would be a good idea. Keep in mind it will stretch, so crocheting a bit tighter will help 🧶😍

Any suggestions on what may be going on? My stitch count for the last row of the sides and before beginning the brim was 72.

    • @SparklyOne
      @SparklyOne  2 роки тому

      Hi Annette, I think you should be ok with the 108 sts. The most important thing is that you try on the cap part before you start the brim to make sure you like the fit. The brim will be fine as long as you follow the pattern. Sometimes our stitch counts can vary for whatever reason, it’s not an exact science 🙌🏻🥰 Keep me posted! The smaller hook would be better, as it makes it more stiff. You might have to make a few more stitches here and there.
