Gathering Stars' first full length album, Time, is the culmination of work begun in 2019 pre-pandemic that was added to during lockdown and completed in 2023.
During the pandemic, time felt suspended but suddenly a year would have passed and then we’d begin another year living in a bubble. We limited our contact with the broader population, reckoned with mortality, passed the time and became acutely aware of who the most important people were to us.
The songs on the record are a time capsule of stories about what each writer was feeling or experiencing during the 4 year pandemic period. Themes explored are the passing of time, loss, separation, healing, survival, renewal, hope, transformation and on a lighter note- a pandemic Tinder date with a trapeze artist.
