The batteries are identical internally but have a different latch.
I bought two generic batteries for my Bosch drill and driver and they cam with two different caps, one for the Dremel and one for the Bosch.

Most of my doubts cleared even though this is a review of a 10 yr old tool. I now know the fundamental aspects to chose from. Dremel is pretty expensive and the 2050-15 is a little weak, while its price is way high as compared to GRO 12v-35. Distinct advantage is the adaptability of batteries of different capacity and current delivery.

Very useful and informative review- thank you. I’m thinking of getting the Bosch model so this has been most helpful. 👍

Realistically, what can one expect in terms of battery life for the Dremel vs the Bosch? From your experience in heavy continuous use and occasional bursts/tasks? Maybe if you were to make a test for this, maybe keep them running non-stop with some "heavier" bit common to all and at least have a relative idea. Thank you!

Yup i can look into that. This is the reason i bought the Bosch version as i have larger capacity batteries in my arsenal and the dremel i only had the one battery at 1.3 ah which did most jobs but not if i was working on my defender it wasn’t enough but two batteries is all you need

I just got my Bosch GRO, and since I am in the US I had to buy an international version from an epay seller, no warranty. 8^( But I can get rid of my crappy Dremel and its unique batteries and chargers, and use the same batteries and chargers as the Bosch tools I already have.
My Dremel appears to be older than yours, so maybe the Dremels got better, but side by side there's no comparison between the GRO and my Dremel. The GRO has a much more solid feel to it. Less of a hobby grade tool than the Dremel, which I have worn out a couple of (the reason why I have 4 Dremel batteries and 2 Dremel chargers).

Great you’ve gone over to the Bosch. I seem to reach for the Bosch rather than the dremel each time I use it

Do you know if the Dremel detailer's grip A577 fits the Bosch - I imagine it will be the same thread

Sorry I don’t know the answer on that. But instinct says yes it will

I have one of these- a few comments.
Speed and power are not the same thing- a comparison of torque might be more useful.
10.8 and 12v Bosch batteries are identical- apart from the label with the number on. 10.8 refers to the fully discharged voltage, 12 to roughly mid charge. Similar to DeWalt 18v batteries that are sold in the US as 21v. It may have been a EU regulation that has been relaxed...
At the price of these things, they really should be brushless motors.
Beware when buying 3rd party accessories- the collet thread and nose thread are not 'standard' (but the same on Dremel and Bosch).
I am told that the Dremel battery is interchangeable with the Bosch 'green' range (DIY tools, blue is professional range), or there are kits to convert- it is only the securing clip that is different.

That’s interesting that the Dremel batteries fit the green Bosch tools, when I did a grinding test the 3ah battery ground more material than the 1.3ah battery over the same amount of time, but the recording I did didn’t turn out well enough for the final video. I didn’t know about the dewalt batteries either, why can’t they just be named the same :)

      @@PhilipHollowaychannel It is called marketing - bigger numbers sound better ;-}
Technically there should be little difference between battery capacity and current draw (for a small tool like this) - but an older battery may well have higher internal resistance.

Does the dremel long flexi shaft fit the bosch?

Not sure but I’ve never had to change any brushes in the Dremel in 10 years of use

What extension shaft you recommend for Bosch?

The capacity of the battery has NO bearing on the POWER of the tool, only runtime. Those batteries are all 10.8-12V. All the same power. Only by increasing VOLTAGE will you get more power.

It’s also down to have the motor uses the voltage supplied. I still use both of mine.

BATTERY LIFE IS A JOKE, same for bosch or dremel...

Shame it impacts you, but I’ve never had an issue with battery life. But I’ve never needed to use it all day. Maybe try there 6 amp batteries.
