Hi there, new subscriber! I love following the Rhodes and the Hollar's, so I knew I needed to follow you all too! I don't have a homestead (to old at 65 to start on my own), but I love watching all the homesteaders and dreaming I could have had that way of life in my younger years. I grew up helping my parents raise gardens and learned at an early age how to can and preserve our homegrown food. I had a big garden myself for years and loved working in it. Now it's just me and gardening got to be more than I could do due to health problems. I'm overjoyed to see young families begin their homesteading experiences. There's just no comparison for the food you raise from scratch. Nice to meet you all! I'm Terri from northeast Tennessee, close to Ashville.
We are too old too (68) but we just sold our 200 acre farm and bought a little 40 acres. I've battled cancer and heart problems and my wife had both knees replaced and is battling cancer. We can't do what we used to but we do what we can. Blessings to you and we wish you the best.
Me too Terri! I have the same thoughts & feelings as you. I have a small urban garden here in Flint, MI. and my neighbors all thought I was a little crazy when I tore up my backyard to put in a garden spot. Nothing like having fresh, organics that I can eat without the worry of chemicals. NOW I have noticed a lot of greenhouses going up around Flint and a lot more community gardens and green spaces. I love watching all these homesteaders!
Truly appreciate your videos, glad you are catching up in the midst of busyness. You obvious love of your family and friends is a shining example we need today. Thank you.
You ALL have been missed!!! The kids are growing up so much!!! I know you guys have been busy knocking out the house reno and with a gaggle of kiddos to wrangle you have better things to do with your time but these videos are precious to us. We will be happy to see more when you post them. Continue on Ethan from the North! 😊
I am beyond tears and words to express what this video means to me and how you all enrich MY life just knowing that people like you exist in this "crazy stupid" country we call THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!! God bless each one of you ❤
Caught your video from the Hollar Homestead. I have been on Earth for 3/4's of a century. I have seen much of the world with the good, the bad and the ugly. We are blessed to live where individual freedom is still cherished by most. That love for freedom is a common thread for those that live and appreciate the space that land provides us to be what we can be. Good luck.
Love this family since the first day we found them on youtube. Glad they moved from out west to NC. Wish I could meet them in person but I live in the eastern side of the state and sheldon get to Asheville,
Haha, you DO look like grizzly Adams! Great video about some great people. You are all blessed to have each other . God has put your special families together and you are all an inspiration to others on what is important in life. May he continue to richly bless you!
Hi you guys and gal....Watch often ..Thanks for sharing your life … We have a place in Big Fork,Mt. We are the older generation..whatever age we didn't want to miss out on growing food and having peace where we live. Love to watch you on youtube. Keep up the great work. Sonja and Dave
MINNESOTA ? Wow , I didn't know we had some homesteaders here that also video! Hi neighbor! I don't video, but at eighty yes old, I no longer do a lot . I have kept a flock of chickens most of my life and find a way to grow some things for the table. I live vicariously through all you younger homesteaders. If you are ever out gallivanting north of the cities and near my little city of Nowthen please drop in. One and half mil3s just north of city on right side of road yellow house.
I saw what you did to help Jim & Rhenda and wanted to subscribe. Really enjoyed your trip video to Baker Creek. Thanks for sharing!! I'm looking forward to visiting your channel. I follow Hollar Homestead with Meg & Ben and found you through their suggestion to check you out. Glad I did!! Although I live in Flint, MI. I tore up my backyard and put in a small garden. My neighbors thought I was crazy but now Flint has a LOT of green space and community gardens!! Love it!
I have missed your humor and gentle spirit. Such a beautiful family you and sweet Sarah have. So glad you had such a good long while making forever memories that your kids can look back on fondly. God bless and looking forward to seeing the progress on the house and homestead.
Loved this video. I’ve been watching the Hollar Homestead videos, and when I saw this. I was so happy to see this. So now I’m watching your family. You all seem like some super nice people. Your videos make my day. You all make me feel as if I know you personally. Can’t wait for next video. 🤗
Hello and so good to be here. I was searching other homestead channel and came across yours. Love your guys' channel. An inspiration and I have been watching all your videos. Hope to connect with your channel and so nice to meet other like minded channels.
Thank you Ethan - I am sooooo excited and glad to see your face and your family again. I have missed your sense of humor the most. I tried to be patient, knowing you must be busy. So so so very glad to see one of your vlogs again. Blessings on all of your work editing.
Great video, good to see you again. I hope you’ll are all well. I still wouldn’t mind coming up to help you guys out on your remodel. Have a great day👍
Great to see you guys back again! I think we might be located somewhere close to you guys. We live in the NW outer suburbs of Minneapolis and I grew up in a small town about an hr straight north of the cities. Sure wish we could lend you guys a hand on getting your house finished. Who knows...maybe you need some more shy nerdy friends. Haha
With so much division in the public arena, your videos show just how unified we can be if we work together toward a common purpose. SO refreshing! If you don't mind sharing, what are your plans? I remember seeing you work on your house and then hit the road in the winter...what's the vision? Thanks for sharing!
Right now our short term plan is to get our house renovation far enough along to live in it while we finish it so we don't have to escape the MN cold come fall like we did in the spring! We'll be sharing long term goals as our adventure unfolds, but mostly it includes building our property into a more sustainable and self-sufficient place to live while becoming debt free and indulging our creative whims 😉. ~sarah
I am so glad you are back, I really missed you and your videos. I love how you describe your relationship with the Hollars it is truly a blessing to have friends like that. Look forward to more videos.
cool video. I am new to the channel.. I see you all are from mn that is cool I am just over the river into Wisconsin.... I look forward to seeing the rest of your videos and maybe get some ideas for my homestead since we both deal with the wonderful winter...

I loved this video, thank you so much for sharing. I have been following Ben and Meg for awhile now. So happy they found their place, and love watching them shape it into their dream. Have a Blessed Week **HUGS & PRAYERS** from Kelly and critters at Piney Haven Homestead.
Good to see y’all again! When you getting back to your house and huge project you have ahead of you? Looking forward to seeing your home complete and y’all moved in. Lol. Guess you kinda answered that. Shoulda watched to the end before I opened my mouth...LOL. Story of my life. Speak before it’s time. Can’t wait to see new videos from y’all.
Hey Valerie! Yeah, I kind of answered that at the end. LOL Anyway, we should be back full time on the house and our homestead life here by mid-August. We may end up getting an episode out that is current before we head to Hannibal MO in the beginning of August for the Homesteading Life Conference but I can't be sure about that. I'm 100% certain we'll be back to releasing current episodes by the 2nd week in August.
Wow, that is one of the most heartwarming, good feeling, genuine videos I have ever watched. Very sweet, and I think you're less crazy than You think you are. As a matter of fact I think you're more sane then most. Looks like a fantastic road trip, thanks so much for sharing it with us, Jimmy
I’ve missed y’all! Great video. It was good to see what you’ve been up to. Can’t wait to see the current videos. Please keep them coming. I’ve really enjoyed your channel & your sense of humor. I’ve decided when everybody else finds out how much fun it is to be nuts, I avoided the rush! Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸
