I’m honestly suprised how close to the original ff7 and ff10 sound considering they were ps1 and ps2 games soundtracks being remade in a snes soundfont.
Final Fantasy VII uses similar soundfonts as were available in the 16-bit era. Nobuo Uematsu preferred the chiptune format because of space limitations, even though he was initially offered the chance to make "CD quality" music for the game.
And It's not just 7, 1 to 6 all share a common somewhat light hearted feel with each other, but from 7 to 13 they all have their unique feel and atmosphere, and tend to be more dramatic, honestly I prefer when they're different to each other cause it makes each game feel more unique and distinct from the rest, but 1 to 6 isn't bad at all.
You could also try SNESifying the newly released Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia battle theme! (Yet it was released about 2 months ago) Also congrats on the 1k! Onward to 2k!
you will have to make an advanced version of this that is a true medley with tempo matching and segues between the themes instead of just the "battle sound!" otherwise ... i approve
Just imagine this: Dissidia Final Fantasy for the SNES, but as a 16-bits turn-based RPG, with a cast conformed not only by the main characters and villains, but also the rest of the protagonists of each title. Basically, Record Keeper but a lot better, wow!!
Vaan: I have no battle theme. Ffxiv Warrior of Light: _Laughs in battle theme for each bloody area_ Everyone: No. That's Illegal. Cloud: _Gets remade_ Now it isn't Noctis: Hey.
I'm kinda surprised how little difference there is between the SNES version of Let the Battles Begin (FFVII) and the original MIDI soundfont. The biggest difference I could tell was the horns.
I was really impressed with the FFX battle version sounded it went really well and fit perfect.😮 Also XII is my favorite and i loved the way that sounded in 16 bit never would have guessed! 😃
It'd work SO MUCH BETTER on SNES than NES too, given the limited memory of the NES. Sure, it might take like five cartridges on SNES but it's worth it!!
That would be a HUGE improvement. The original game was okay if you ignored the graphics, but if it were on the SNES all issues with the game would be fixed, plus the retro soundtrack remixes would make it EPIC.
@@robertreckeweg8533 Well that game and FFXIV now have NPC party members and such. You can do a lot of stuff (but not all) alone. I haven't played FFXI since 2009 but I loved the stories and would play it again if it ever became a standalone game.
Excellent job on remaking all of these tracks so well in an SNES soundfont. One thing I would like to point out however is when it comes to rendering the character sprites, they look a little blurry. If you want them to look sharper you'll need to upscale them with an upscaler called nearest neighbor. Then they will look sharper.
Love the presentation. Are those the Cloud and Squall sprites from PS1 ff6 anthology save screen? ff11, 10:40 beautiful. ff12, oh yes the theme of going out into the open world of the desert and smacking wolves with a stick. ff13, good. Almost started sounding like La Mulana, ha!
I dunno why. But with the SNES soundchip, FF7's battle theme sounds almost similar to regular version of FF7's battle theme. It's almost seemless between the two.

Thanks for the support! Denjibu, Tactics is one my top favorite FFs, but Rachel is right - my criteria was 'mainstream numbered' titles with consistent battle themes. XII was the only exception because would be very unfair to leave such a major game out. As for XV, it kinda has a "Battle Theme" but it is so new we have no good MIDI files available and due its orchestral nature, it would take a very skilled musician to create it (and unfortunately I'm not one). I do plan to make more videos like this when I gather enough content and subs! Maybe medley for spin-off FFs? Stay tuned!
'Mystic Quest' is already a SNES game! I could upgrade it with higher quality sound like I did with 'IV, V and VI' in this video, but it wouldnt sound so different at all. I will include it a possible 'FF spin-offs' medley though.

I really like the Battle theme #1 from that game though, because technically it does have a battle theme of some sort

Simply amazing
man this kicks ass
