Eh, it only really went from 1987 to 2001. After that the merger happened and a bunch of mediocre action games and MMOs killed it, skinned it, wore it's hide, and called themselves Final Fantasy.

XIV could be the best FF game ever made if it were just Shadowbringers alone, but it has 4 other expansions that are all great in their own ways too.

I love how all the themes are the main battle themes, but XII is like, nah fuck that here’s the boss battle theme with Espers, and then XIV says “hold my beer” and puts the epic boss theme that’s YOUR THEME, not the boss’s.
My opinion on every numbered title in the series: Type 0: An astrologians wet dream from what I remember. I: The pixel remakes do this justice, because I went back to the nes version and almost threw up from how little you're given. II: /\ but also never played it so not much more than the above. III: /\ IV: Has the most famous depiction of a dragoon, however the best depiction is clearly Estinien. V: Truly a Final fantasy. VI: I haven't touched this game and yet I'm already captivated by its visuals and narrative. VII: Obviously I'm not going to say anything negative about the game so here's a small factoid, I recently found out Cloud is a dark knight job, which means he is technically the tank. VIII: I'm genuinely scared off by this game by the character design alone, its too anime edgy, all I see in the 2 characters displayed is Rentaro from black bullet and Tifa 2: Aeris influenced you. IX: I wish this game was more popular, because its a genuinely good game, also if you like FFXIV's shadow bringer dlc you will absolutely recognise the parallel's. X: The first of many things including being released around the time of KH and thus somehow splitting the player base by not doing anything, anyway, a genuinely amazing story. XI: I wish I could insult you, but both XII and XIV, where both born out of you so thank you? XII: Speaking of XII, you definitely tried being the black sheep of the series, bland character design, the main character being unlikeable, every game after you devoted to lacking a proper Pirate job, not to mention the combat not only being unique but satisfying, Bahamut your good. I don’t even think 15 is mediocre I just think the game is way simplified and streamlined too much where I don’t love as much as I do other FF games but I still love the hell out of it
What if square enix remaster FF I-V like FFVII we need those iconic char to make an entrance once more, imagine how hot Rubicante is throwing his balls while moving not as an image grayscaling while attacking.

That little Mithra looked like she threw a moon at her enemies so maybe her. Though Lightning has been in 3 of the games but Zidane did save all of reality in all universes from destruction in his game. I'm a Cecil fan personally though.

Wouldn't necessarily have to be turn-based though. And also maybe not releasing it in major installments. FF7 actually fatigued me to where I'm not playing it until long after it releases all installments. FF16 has literally no party, which is just boring to me.
