My favorites at Mt. Park were the roller coaster, the midway with all the pinball machines and the miniature golf course. It's all gone now and I truly miss it.
went here every summer when i was a kid, had a blast. My parents use to sit under the pavillion and drink beer and listen to the polka bands play, while we would run around the park going on all the rides! Now that was a very long....................time ago!
I wish I went there before they shut down, by that time I was 12. Being from Groton, Connecticut, my mother didn't want to drive to that section of Massachusetts especially during the recession of the 1980s and 1990s the state was going through then. Heck, I didn't get to Riverside Park until I was days before 19! I wish I had my driver's license soon enough to at least take a piece of what's left of it all, but there's nothing left. And I can understand why they branched out. I was considerably small compared to Riverside Park. At 26 rides, they could have expanded the way Riverside Park did adding more rides and attractions as well as more live acts. That's too bad it didn't happen so that Mountain Park could go on and on for future generations to come. I did visit Riverside Park 6 times, but as soon as it became Six Flags New England, I stopped going there and only go up there for the Big E and the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside. Six Flags doesn't have that Riverside Park feel to it anymore like it used to.
Used to go when I was a kid back in the late 70's to early 80's
