So this may be because of a patch, but Celeste now runs perfectly from install on M1 chips, no screwing around with files needed. I'm on a 2020 Mac mini by the way.
Mac mini performance was hindered by a bug with our external capture card - HD60S+. In reality performance should be a tiny bit better than MBA and MBP. We have since fixed the issue.
@@Ikillurmomify most people playing games on laptops arent looking for anything high spec. If they did theyd get a stationed pc. The apple macbook m1 isnt for gamers. Its a laptop than can run games nicely and thats a plus but not its essence
The only game that makes sense to me and is playable at good FPS is CSGO, it's so much fun. Using my MBA 8core GPU model, at all low, 900p I get about 80-130FPS and it's enjoyable. For medium settings, you get about 60-80FPS.

Thanks for this tests. After hearing all the rave about M1 this past year i thought im ready to change my work station to Mac this year with M1 Ultra and what not. These tests proves that M1 is only powerful on paper or specific function like video compression. The test done here mostly already run well on my kids windows laptop that is almost 6 years old now which probably cost 50 bucks at junkyards..... i mean Asphalt 8 can run on practically potato....

I was able to get the sims 2 ultimate collection to launch through parallels. I was able to open a neighborhood, CAS, and a household. Unfortunately, there are terrible graphics issues because the game does not recognize my graphics card and I have no idea to get it to do so. I modified the graphics rules to add the parallels driver which took away the terrible lag and flashing pink textures. Everything was great until I loaded a household and both the game and the entire parallels desktop crashed. It did it every time. I'm sure if I could modify the graphics rules in a specific way then I could get the game to work possibly.

It outperforms even Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics which is already impressive. In the future it’ll get even better. Obviously their priority isn’t gaming but their GPU performance has improved a lot. If your benchmark to know if the hardware is capable for gaming is Modern Warfare then I feel bad for you

I usually use my desktop that I built - but I need a laptop to be a bit more mobile.

If 6gb of vram would work for you then something like a 1660ti would be fine for majority of your work but it's going to put a dent in your pocket for sure

I have a fairly new M1 MacMini; 16Gb RAM; 256Gb SS Hard drive. I have Fortnite installed on the Mac. I have a GameSir T4 Pro Wireless Bluetooth Controller. I am able to connect to connect the controller to the Mac via blue tooth (and have played a NES emulator game - only other game I have installed - with the controller on the Mac). When I try to play Fortnite; the game controller is not recognized. (I have verified that the “ignore gamepad input” option is NOT enabled.). I have also used a PS4 game controller, and a wired (USB) game controller (Gamepad F310) - same thing: works with NES emulator but NOT with Fortnite. I have also uninstalled/reinstalled Fortnite and the Epic Games launcher. Any other thoughts?

I got sreamvr and beat saber working in parallels desktop. Sadly I couldnt really control anything because I couldnt install the oculus software, because it needs some intel instruction set to work.

Where is settings and fps?

Important: were you running them on a 1080p monitor or on the 4K/5K internal display (in case of the MacBook tests)?

Wait, the Epic Games version of Superhot is not supported on Mac; only the steam version is supported. Unless your using crossover or Parallels 16

From my experience, it gets as hot for the fans to run at it's 30% capacity. They don't get "burn your skin hot", they get "my legs are getting hot".

Unfortunately, it seems to be an issue with Steam on Big Sur. There is apparently a workaround for Intel Macs, but not on M1 (at least not yet).
